I so can't believe I haven't written a review of this liquor store/market yet. This place is great despite how old, outdated and dirty some of the interior is. Imagine if all the mom and pop liquor stores, tiny one horse town convenience stores and small main street pharmacies had a baby - they would name it Starlight Market. Once you come to the front of the store in a crappy not so well take care of mini mall with a greek/american food place, a thai food place, a "peek a color" nail salon, a random cell phone store and an even more random dance studio next to a gas station, you begin to wonder "why would I shop here". But once you walk in you are inundated with all kinds of aisles of stuff, everything the 7-11 has down the street amplified plus it has hard liquor at decent prices. There's 4 long aisles of items from grocery, household, hygiene, motor needs, kids supplies and way more and all the way around the store is wrapped in some refrigerated awesomeness with all sorts of cold beverages to pick from both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. There is also two counters, one being the main counter of items you'd expect to get and the other for things like sewing needs, accessories, more expensive chotckys and what nots and tons of racks of random stuffs. If you are in a rush to get something that you are missing something small at home and don't have the gas or time to go to Walmart, there's probably something like it here. Forgot to pick up glue for that art project, check. Car needs more washer fluid, check. Fixing your pants and forgot safety pins, check. Your kid is drawing something and broken all the crayons, check. Doggies leash broken while out on a walk, check. I could go on and on. And whats more awesome is I live within walking distance from here, laziness, check. I only wish they were open later, but alas. And once you've gotten your back up/interim supplies/bottles of drinkable yummy-ness, you head up to the cashier who is always friendly, greets you and says goodbye whenever you come in or leave, lets you get what you need without bugging you, helpful when you need something behind the counter or need help finding something among all those aisles and quick with service and always with a smile (who could be that happy working in a liquor/convenience store I wonder, great day to be alive, right?). I've never felt uncomfortable coming in this store, nor ever felt unsafe despite its neighboring ugliness...I guess it sort of adds some charm to the place. read more
