I came here after a terrible experience at 86 Street Quick Lube trying to receive a photo inspection for auto insurance. This was a great experience and totally opposite the other place I went to. When I called them a woman answered and was very friendly. She explained there may be a wait and there might be a line outside. She provided the hours which were 8:30 am to 2:30 pm so I immediately went down there. Everything was organized, the owner/manager greeted me and explained the process he was very friendly. I joined the line, the wait was about 20 minutes, the person who did the inspection was friendly. I did not have to leave my vehicle, everyone was wearing masks and gloves. The process was quick, he explained everything, was friendly, and at the end I was given a folder with all the documentation neatly in the folder which said thank you for business. Nice touch!! I highly recommend Ralph and John's for your auto inspection needs. Judging by the amount of cars there I'm sure they have a great reputation in the neighborhood. read more

Poor service, terrible attitude I don't normally leave reviews, but I had a really bad experience when I walked in to the store and there's was a Chinese employee serving us, and I asked him that my insurance company told me to take photos of the car in your store. Then he replied impatiently and rudely that we can only take photos from Tuesday to Thursday, and tomorrow is the last day for taking photos. When I wanted to ask other questions, he said to me in a bad attitude, "I'll tell you again, come tomorrow. The person who told you that came today is an idiot. Back in the day this was the place to go to if you wanted to build a 11 sec street-able mustang, I'm talking 20 30 years ago and they were good. Now this shop is beyond horrible, they lie they steal and most of all they do garbage work. I'm talking like finding sheet rock screws used on your car, stealing parts from you and putting an inferior part in its place, stealing your old parts, keeping your car for an extended period of time. Bottom line their morons and I wouldn't let them touch anyone I hates car, hack mechanics and dishonest, right now they are involved in several lawsuits. I cannot warn you enough. why would anyone do this kind of work why? you had this car for months. you guys not only did not repair my fuel pump issue or anything, you guys tore into the cab of the car actually tearing the metal of the cab to access the fuel pump. the access hole is completely torn up. ripped metal around the whole ring now the cap seal can not seal the metal is ripped so bad its unrepairable. u give me the car with cats removed without even telling me what you decided to do. you put off-road pipes to replace and they were are not even clamped together. the clamp was tightened to the side of the pipe they were never even connected together. there is no excuse for such butchering. i worked on this car every part of this car and would have never aeven llowed such a thing. a beautiful 2008 shelby gt 500 u completely butchered. no stars besides i may take action this is horrible read more

No masks or social distancing. Extremely long wait for a photo inspection I was on line and talked to the owner with the lady in front of me. Two people pulled up after me and they took them first even though I was waiting. The guy was extremely rude. Additionally, not one person working or customer had mask. Everyone was on top of each other. The guy even came to my car without a mask. This is why the numbers are getting higher because of irresponsible people. read more

My brand new leased car was smacked in the bumper while parked on the street. I looked up various body shops in my neighborhood on Yelp, and saw that this shop was one of the closest. They are absolutely terrific! Though I walked in without an appointment, Ralph the owner was most cordial and reassuring. He gave me an estimate that day, said the car would be ready in three days. Actually, the car was ready within two days, to my pleasant surprise. The car was restored to its' brand new looks, at a reasonable price. If you need body work done, this is the place to go. Hopefully, I won't need to avail myself of their services again, but if I do, this is where I'll be going to. Insurance claims are taken, though you can pay out of pocket as well. read more

I am a Lyft Driver. Today I went to this auto repair shop for oil change. From the first minutes this guys were being very arrogant, mean and rude. First skinny old curly Italian guy laught at me and shaked his head when I didn't hear his first order. Yes, order. They don't tell you, they don't ask you, THEY ORDER. When they finished, the women from the register told me that I am all set and good to go. That's what I did. When I got in to my car and started to move out the rest of the stuff who was around my car started yelling at me and told me that I'm not allowed to take my car from their f....g box. Then why you all were looking at me while I was heading to my car, when I started engine? Because everyone was doing their own business and nobody gave a shit what's going on in the box. They woke up when I was almost outside. Guys, I don't know your f...g rules and I don't give a f...ck on your rules. Don't f..ck with me! This is the worst oil changing experience I've ever had. I've already reported to Lyft about it. I don't recommend anybody to go to this terrible shop. F....ck you! read more

For anybody that needs to have the right job done on their car, truck, or special build, go to Ralph and Johns for the best prices and quality work. I've been lucky enough to stumble onto this shop that was recommended from the dodge dealership for consistently doing repairs up to their grade. I've had multiple projects done on my car that have been completed 100% and still operate perfectly today with 5 star satisfaction. Their shop has multiple lifts and an official nyc or photo inspection station. There is plenty of parking and areas to pull over so that you can come inside and discuss what needs to be done. This shop is spotless and kept up extremely well. There are no tools, grease on the floor, or any oil anywhere. They are so extremely organized with all their tools that I've never seen any laying around. Its equipped with high grade computer systems for total diagnostics and fine turning adjustments. From race cars to 40 foot limousine's, they do it all and for the right price. I would highly recommend anybody who has a problem with their car that cant fix it on their own to come to ralph and johns and speak to ralph the the race car builder, the head mechanic, mechanic supervisor. Ralph was the first person to work on my race car and I wouldn't let anybody else touch it because of his confidence and expertise in auto building and repairs or upgrades. read more

So as a woman in NYC, taking your car to a mechanic is usually as painful as going to the dentist. You come out confused, not knowing what happened, except rest assured that there will be a hefty bill! Therefore, Ralph and Johns deserves more stars, probably somewhere near 10. It is so refreshing to feel like you're not getting taken advantage off and that they will actually fix a problem or even tell you, no miss, nothing is wrong with you car! Lol sounds silly but I've been through a lot of mechanics in NYC. I'm moving about 45 min from Brooklyn and I will still make the Trek to these guys just because I'm so happy with their service! This place sucks they charged me 400 for frunt brakes and rotors an the pads where wrong for my car an I still want back an made the fix a nother car of mine an charged me almost 2 g an didn't fix nothing i had to go to a nother mechanic to fix the problems that they sed they fixed there just a pach an clean shop I don't recommend the shop to anybody they took me for money and fixed nothing an they don't even deserve the one star I'm given them there lucky I'm on parole read more
