They definitely have a lot of different Derby hats so I called them up and spoke with Elaine. It seems like a lot of hat designers make their hats custom but, thankfully, Elaine told me that, while she does custom hats, she also had some ready to wear hats to choose from. Phew! I made an appointment to come in the day before my flight. In order to get a better idea of what I was looking for, she gave me a password for the website so I could browse the collection and pick out some of my favorites to try on at the appointment. When I got to my appointment, she had a wide variety of hats in all different colors for me to try. She had all of the styles I had picked out and a variety of others available just in case. It was definitely difficult narrowing it down to just one. In the end I liked one style but in a different color. Elaine was able to modify the hat in the color I liked so that I could have exactly what I wanted. She said she was also able to adjust it to swoop a certain way if I would have wanted. I chose to keep it just as it was. The day at the Derby was amazing and I got tons of compliments on my beautiful hat. Now, if I ever go again, I know who to call first!

Aaron, I am a customer of The Buckeye Corner in Columbus Ohio where I purchased in two transactions a little over $500. The reason I am writing you is because your team fixed a small oversight that The Buckeye Corner overlooked. I bought several shirts as I need to have the ability to represent my Ohio State Buckeyes. One of the shirts I bought had an issue, they accidentally forgot to take off the theft tag. I was perplexed because I didn't know how I could get this fixed. I called The Buckeye Corner and let them know I live in Chicago and couldn't come back. The lady I spoke to told me about Lids owning them and I could just go to a Lids store and they could fix the issue, I was so relieved! I came in to your Outlet Store here in Aurora off of I-88. I came in and Carolina assisted me. She quickly understood my situation. She checked my receipt to ensure I actually purchased the shirt and then asked her Manager Sierra of it was ok, Sierra said it was no problem. The machine that is in your store was not working so Carolina went to the other to see if it would work, it also did not. Carolina came back to let Sierra know what was happening and then Sierra asked Carolina to go a child's store she worked at before describing the issue with the theft tag as it has a function that to undo the tag needed a different system to get it to work. So with my receipt in hand Carolina took the shirt to the other store and came back with my shirt free of the theft tag!! I am so grateful for the staff you have there!!!! Carolina was amazing and Sierra went above and beyond in suggesting the fix that she did. Lastly I am also in customer service, and the department I am in charge of was 7th in the county last year in customer service out of 648 dealers, so I know very well what it takes to have a winning team...you sir have a winning team!!! They also do custom embroidery and stitching if you are wanting to personalize your cap even further. It's not a cheap option, and fitted wool caps are not cheap in general, but if you are feeling froggy and suddenly decide that it's appropriate to have "I'm Rick James, bitch" stitched on the side of your caps in large Old English font, they can hook you up. If you are a frequent hat buyer, I suggest you fork over the 5 bucks to join Lids club. You get 20% off all hat purchases, and it's tiered.
