Sashimi

Great service (shoutout to Ryan if you see this!) Very reasonable price for the amount and quality of food. Ordering was easy and quick - you order on the iPad and they bring out the food. Salad bar had a variety of desserts, drinks, and sides. Everything we had was tasty. Overall a good place for solid and affordable sushi and sashimi.

Our server, Leo, was fantastic and ensured our large party had a great experience! He was very proactive about asking if we wanted to get some sashimi/nigiri going since we were waiting on the rest of our party - and it came out in perfect time as the rest of our party arrived! It was plated beautifully and made for a great start. The rest of the time we were able to order whatever we wanted through the ipads - I love ordering AYCE on ipads because people can just order whatever they want, pass the ipad, and repeat without having to flag a server down. All our food came out in a timely manner and tasted fresh! My only critique is that on the rolls they tend to put unagi sauce and spicy mayo on everything, so the flavor profiles started to get a little old towards the end. The tuna sashimi was also quite fishy in my opinion. Leo was also very attentive with clearing out empty plates. They offer more items at the cold bar, but I didn't check it out - I was too occupied with the sushi. I love their freezer of individually packed ice creams! Perfect way to finish an AYCE meal.

Our sushi boat with some of the "only one order per person" options

For $32.99 (dinner and weekends), this place absolutely understood the assignment. Just a heads up: if you're ordering any of the "one-order-per-person" items, tell the waiter, not the iPad. The iPad is clearly not emotionally prepared for responsibility. The sushi boat has a 5-person minimum, but after some light negotiation, we successfully counted our infant as guest #5. Teamwork makes the dream work. Not pictured: More rolls, more hibachi, delicious fried rice, baby octopus (1-per-person and excellent), conch sashimi (also 1-per-person and also excellent), desserts, and drinks. Snow crab legs are also one per person but tasted good with good meat quality. What's Good: * The limited items are legit and honestly could fill most people up on their own. * Solid rice-to-protein ratio in nigiri and rolls. No "here's a rice brick with a whisper of fish" nonsense. * A rotating fruit lineup that felt like a global tour: rambutan, Korean melon (chamae), golden kiwi, star fruit and then just whole bananas. Haha * I'm not really a roll person, but everything looked good. * Any AYCE spot that includes spider rolls (soft shell crab) automatically earns 2 thumbs up. * Not a fan of eel but the offering was delicious Service was also spot on. At one point, we had to ask them to slow it down with the made to order items since we were running out of room and couldn't eat fast enough. Impressive considering majority is made to order. What's Meh: * Tamago tasted frozen and was weirdly wet in some pieces. Not tragic, just confusing. * Hibachi unagi was forgettable. * Drinks were bland. Matcha latte was way too light more "matcha-adjacent" than matcha. What's Bad * White tuna. Everywhere. * Cheesecake was stale (sad), but all the other desserts were solid. * They ran out of Thai tea at 8:30 pm even though they close at 11...which is rude because it was good and we wanted more. Final verdict: Incredible value, excellent selections, good service, and just some minor misses. Would 100% go back!

Raku sushi hibachi is not like your typical buffet. Instead of having everything on the hot/cold bar items are made to order. Customers order via tablet, the kitchen receives the order and makes the food, and the server delivers it to your table. When placing the first order that begins a 90 minute countdown where you may order your fill. If you've been to some of the newer AYCE places in the area you're familiar with the setup. The host will give you a physical menu to look at when you first arrive and are seated. The server will bring a tablet to the table which is better since almost every dish has a picture unlike the printed menu. Most everything you can order an unlimited quantity. There is a section of the menu where the more exotic items are limited to one per person per visit. I ordered mostly nigiri and hand rolls. When you have AYCE you don't want to waste the time or room on salads, fruit, etc. When I walked past the bar I decided everything there was a waste so I didn't inspect how fresh it was or if they let the ice levels get too low for the cold items as another reviewer noted. The hand rolls are absolutely huge. The way the order and delivery system operates makes hand rolls a lot better than many other places. When it reaches your table the seaweed wrap is still crunchy if you eat it immediately. I've only had this experience at omakase where the chef toasts the seaweed, makes the roll, and hands it to you. The mackerel was fresh and juicy. It was not soaked in vinegar and dried out as you would find with supermarket sushi. Overall I like the system for a sitdown restaurant. Volcano sushi next door is still one of the best take out places in the area. The AYCE concept means that inventory is constantly turning over and the food is fresh. Since everything is made to order you don't have to rely on the restaurant being busy to keep everything on the hot/cold bar refreshed. The prices are reasonable compared to the other giant buffet place on Pleasant Hill which is $10 more. If you're in the mood for sushi Raku is a much better value. It's easier to get to break even vs. going to a different place and ordering nigiri or sashimi ala carte. Value, atmosphere, and service make Raku standout and a worthwhile place to visit.

Came back again and still impressed. The fresh sushi, sushi rolls, and sashimi are made to order and taste high quality. They also have delicious Japanese noodles, flavorful hibachi, tasty Japanese sides, and unlimited boba, which is such a nice bonus. No hot bar anymore--now it's a cold bar with desserts and sides. Crab legs are available daily (1 cluster per person). Came with a group and loved the sushi boat. Plus, soju is only $7.50. Like, come on... $33 for all of this? It's a great deal if you're big on sushi. I'll definitely be back.

There's a new AYCE sushi & hibachi spot in town, and it's definitely worth checking out! I recently visited Raku Sushi in Duluth and had a great experience overall. They offer all-you-can-eat at a really solid price -- $32.99 for dinner and $21.99 for lunch, which is hard to beat for the variety you get. The interior is modern and nicely decorated, making it a comfortable spot for both casual outings and group dining. I loved that they have tons of options. There's a cold bar you can walk up to, but most of the menu is ordered directly from an iPad at the table, and everything comes out fresh from the kitchen. Service was smooth and efficient. For a buffet-style restaurant, the food was surprisingly fresh and tasty, especially the sushi. I was also impressed that they had Japanese wine, which was a nice bonus and paired well with the food. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations for AYCE. Great value, good variety, and solid quality. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

Stopped by for dinner on a weekend during the soft opening. Inside the fan was blowing and it was cold so had to ask to move tables. The hot foot area included crab legs, snail, clams, and more but the food was room temp. There was an area with bottled drinks such as teas, soda, and flavored sparkling water. The rolls tasted like ones you would find at the grocery store. The raw fish in the rolls tasted dry and flavorless. The masago had a dish soap taste to it and we brought it up to the manager. It is an average priced buffet option but not worth the price and will not be returning.

For from self serve area inedible not at right temperatures and tasted spoiled.

Food on salad bar had no ice and very warm. Second they will need to work on there food most items we got on the all you can eat tasted really bad. I will say the sushi was good but also tasted like some of the ingredients not kept at the right temperature. Also they have no free refills on drinks that is stupid. Service was poor and this was the soft opening so I can't imagine how bad it will be when they are open. Ambiance it was okay they are trying to go for trendy but it's a miss. I will not be bac

The inside of the restaurant.

First time here. Stopped by because I saw the IG posts about this place and wanted to try it. The food is great and fresh. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Definitely will be back.

Another AYCE sushi restaurant! Sushi was good. You order via a tablet and a server will bring it to you. They also have a cold buffet bar with cold dishes, drinks, fruits, and desserts.

I like the appetizer carrots and seaweed salad which is good to go with the seafood. I also like the shrimp tempura, yellowtail sashimi, and eel sushi. Besides sashimi and sushi rolls, you can also get takoyaki, spring rolls, and ice cream! Friendly staff!

Tuna and Eel Sashimis

The server was really nice and explained how it works. You order on an iPad, and there are complimentary milk tea drinks alongside some desserts and other side dishes. The sushi was amazing quality. Takoyaki was soft and yummy. I liked how the restaurant looked inside. They had cute little smokes coming out of a machine between the aisles.

Great food!

The food was great! The atmosphere was pleasing. Service was great! We had an absolutely amazing experience at Raku. Celebrated a birthday and the birthday girl satisfied.

Also as an Asian, I love all…read morethe food choices: pork feet, chicken feet, crawfish, clams, beef tripe and tender pho, and fried sesame balls for dessert. Although overall taste is not as good as these in fine dining, but for buffet I would highly recommend for its value. Couple of things to mention: the food is not very consistent between batches; it becomes very crowded during lunch time; I have to watch my weight so I can't come here often.

What really surprised me was not only did they have a hibachi station but they also had a pho/noodle bar station too. You pick the ingredients you want - vegetables, protein, noodles, toppings, etc. and then you bring it (to the hibachi person!) and you tell them which broth you want. They drop the ingredients in a broth to cook them and then put all the stuff into the broth of your choice. I actually thought the pho I got was not bad. The broth was surprisingly decent with a good amount of flavor, and I would have definitely considered getting this at a regular restaurant too. I thought the rest of the food was also not bad, rather standard Asian buffets offerings like Americanized Chinese food (orange chicken), fried rice, lo mein, etc. They also had a lot of desserts like jello, cheesecake, and there is a separate cooler for some ice cream cups. The ice cream was very strange, a bit milky and didn't really melt after awhile which was a bit concerning...
