I'm a general contractor and have a licensed electrical and plumbers on call. There were times we needed access to our expensive equipment we don't leave in our vans in the middle of the night. They stopped that. My rent for a single vehicle went from $80 to $140 in 3 years. My rent on my unit went from $320 to $485 in 3 years. They hire a guy named Perry . Caught him inside my unit one day as I went to use the bathroom they use to have on site. Those are gone!! I said bro what are you doing? He's like I saw your motorcycle and had to come check it out. A few months later I walk inside the office to pay the rent and see a new desk, office chair, filing cabinet, bookshelf. I'm like what?!! This all looks so familiar. Well come to find out it was all mine from one of my units I was renting with bud and Jacky. Somehow the paperwork was lost and there were several units he didn't know the occupants. Rather than emailing everyone or calling he cut all the locks and kept the stuff. I started seeing all my teak wood out on the porch , my bike, my outdoor table and chairs. I called my contract attorney and he explained they would probably win in court . Like tow companies there is such a grey area they can manipulate. Now it seems it's all about being a corporate locations and charging as much as possible. They use to provide a good value but don't any longer. Look out how the paving situation was handled or the broken gate that just sat for months on end. It's really sad. Now I will say Jessica is super kind and has always been cool with me . None of this review represents her and the other girl that's her sidekick. This is just me being honest after being there since 2012.

They are one of the more expensive locations in the areas…read moreand they will look to minimize their liabilities with any given situation based on the contract/policy signed agreement. Customer service is nil. Read carefully what you're signing and understand that they will treat that document as the bible. I wouldn't look to resolve any situation beyond that. We had a couple issues with this location I'll highlight below. 1. The first was the lot markings. On our sign-up they told us to use 31-A. When we could find 31 but not 31-A, the office was closed and when we dialed the emergency number, we didn't get any pick-up. We guessed, fortunately correctly that spot 31 was ours and not 31-A and fortunately, we didn't end up parking in someone else's spot. 2. They didn't pick up when we dialed the emergency number during this time. Fortunately we didn't have any issues with codes that prevented us from accessing our vehicle so that was a plus but still a concern for us. 3. The expense is great. 160ish for a dirt spot. You can get a spot close to Seattle for a few bucks less in very costly real-estate so their numbers are a bit inflated. They tout their security but for the price you pay you could reserve just about anywhere else within a 20 mile radius for less money. The security here is still gate codes and an assailant could pretty easily watch someone punch in a number with a set of binoculars or spotting scope. True security would be a card scanner or enclosed structure and there's areas in Pierce King that have this. 4. The customer service is just, read the policy and follow the policy. If you have any kind of exception, they won't make it or work with you to make it. They will pretend that when you ask for an exception that had you asked more nicely they would have granted it no matter how kindly you ask. When it doesn't work in your favor, they'll simply laugh at you and hang up or accuse you of arguing . At least this was my experience when I asked for an exception to be made to pro-rate our final month's rent. Because we did not provide 20 days written notice, they would not make an exception nor would they even offer proration for the final 6 days of the month if we gave written notice at the time of vacancy. They are well within their right to do this. I wouldn't say they aren't. If you're working with them, just note that your interaction will be based only on the contract you sign. They will work to make you seem unreasonable if you ask for anything beyond that. All the best in your storage hunt folks.

Service here has always been pretty kind the few times that I've needed help, and they've always been super responsive if I need help getting payment links reset or changed. Parking lot here is a little on the small side but I've never been here when it's been crazy busy. They also have dollies to use which is always helpful for getting things to and from my car! Will definitely continue to give them my storage business as a result of years of positive experiences! It's a little farther than I would like, but it's easily accessible when I'm on my way up to Seattle anyways, so I make it work.

For the first several years, things were fine -- mostly because of Nicole, the former manager who actually cared and knew what she was doing. I also had 24-hour access, which was essential for me because I store expensive tools I use for work. I got this unit specifically because of that 24/7 access. But once Nicole left, everything went downhill -- fast. Suddenly my on-time payments weren't being recognized, and I started getting flooded with emails and calls claiming I hadn't paid. Totally false. Then came the spotty access. Sometimes I'd get off work and be locked out of my unit for no reason (code wouldn't work). For someone who depends on secure, reliable access -- this was a nightmare. I had always paid at the end of the pay cycle -- and Nicole never had an issue with that. But after years of doing things the same way, I decided to adjust my payment date to avoid the drama. I even paid extra to cover the shift in date. What happened? I showed up, and my unit was locked. To top it off, the new guy working there had a major attitude problem. Didn't explain anything, didn't apologize -- just walked over, unlocked my unit in silence, and walked away like I was the problem. For the last 2.5 years, it's been pure chaos. Constant employee turnover, staff who don't know what they're doing, and a total lack of customer service. It's like they're running a revolving door operation over there. I've since moved to a much better storage facility -- indoors, cleaner, more professional, and half the price. I should have left years ago. Until Storage One at Benson gets its act together and starts hiring competent, respectful staff, do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. If you value peace of mind, reliability, and decent customer service, this is NOT the place for you.

The chat is useless as all they do is pass your information to the location so they can call you back (which they won't). Zero interest in customer satisfaction - 1000% interest in profit. UPDATE: got somebody to call me back to tell me why the website price is lower than what I'm paying. She said the "website price is to lure new customers and they will get a rate increase to match what I'm paying in six months." I mentioned that the website doesn't state any of this and she says they don't have to. Well, there you go.... buyer beware!

She said I had to pay a whole other month to keep until the 31st. While reconfirming with "Larry", who pretended to be the owner of this storage facility, intentionally wasted my time, belittled me and told me "tough luck" about my car, to consider it gone and that he was finished with us, which was also all on a recorded line. This is after getting a 20 day eviction notice on April 29th dated April 15th and that I was to be out June 1st even though my rent wasn't due again until June 12th. They also think that www.certifiedmail.com is certified mail-which washington state law does not recognize. Save yourself the money, heartache and time by going somewhere else!!!

I just moved here from Alaska I needed to get all of my belongings out of my car. I did a little…read morebit of shopping around online and found that Federal Way supreme that's kind of right in the middle of everybody pricewise. The website was a little bit difficult to understand all of the ins and outs, the sales, how to get a month free, so use the online chat feature. My questions were being answered in seconds. They made it very clear as to what the price structure would look like. On my arrival, I was incredibly pleased with my decision to go with this facility. It is brand new! Everything is bright and shiny, well lit, easy to get in and out of, with a very helpful staff. There was a ( one time) administration fee of $25 to establish my (month to month) contract and I had to purchase a special lock ($20) for the door. Those are the only surprises but both of them made sense. I didn't have a lock with me and I would've needed to buy one anyway. All in all, I'm glad that I wound up here. The shelf is incredibly helpful and went to good lengths to make sure that I understood what I was getting and that it was appropriate for my needs. As always, I reserve the fifth star for consistency. More to come.
