Poor communication between management and work crew. Installed incorrect roof venting and 'forgot' to install proper furring as was in contract. If I wan't regularly overseeing their work, we likely would have ended up litigating a do-over. The crew was sloppy at removal and discarding of tear-off material, damaging house siding and leaving countless tar stains that have to be repainted.. During install, shot nails through roof fascia that are going to be tough to repair. They were nice folks throughout the project and the price was fair, but just didn't seem to care about quality of work. See photos that detail damage. read more

I began the journey to find a roof contractor back in the Fall. Everyone was booking out appointments into the Winter and after getting 4 bids, I chose Raindrop Roofing. They offered the most comprehensive way to vent the attic and improve air flow. They applied a tarp over the effected area when the rains came for no additional cost, and I have been very happy with their communication and response to questions throughout. I definitely would recommend this company for your roofing repair or replacement. They were not the inexpensive option, but what they provided as standard, others were going to add to their bid anyway. One note if you plan on paying with a credit card, they do pass the 3-4% fees onto you. read more

I initially wrote the review below with one star out of frustration over my communication with management of the company. Ryan, the owner, contacted me recently after seeing my review and we discussed my issues. He apologized and explained some of the problems I had and was willing to work with me on a resolution. Raindrop will be refunding some of the costs for work that was previously done and for items that were missed. He also explained that they will change some of their business practices in an effort to be more transparent on costs. Although I am not totally happy with my experience, the new roof is well done and I can't complain about the workmanship. Just be aware that you need to work any issues out involving costs or work to be done and have it in writing before signing a contract with any contractor. I had Raindrop install my new roof on a previous home with no issues, so I called them when my current roof was leaking. They recommended new flashing around the chimneys and more venting. This cost over $4000 and they told me not to do a new roof, that these repairs would cost less than a new roof and the roof last at least another 5 to 10 years before it would need replaced. Three months later I discovered new damage from where my roof leaked on my kitchen ceiling and ruined it. I got up In my attic and there were noticeable leaks in at least 8 places coming through the boards in various areas. I called them again and they said they would credit my previous work towards the new roof and would come out and tarp it for free until they could do the work. Cost quoted was close to $21,000, no credit applied, and I stupidly signed their contract. They never came out and tarped the roof, so I continued to fight the leaks and more damage done to the ceilings in my house. When all was done, they charged an extra $1200 for roofing materials (not for unanticipated repairs), so my 1600 square foot home roof job is costing over $25,000! Other roofers where charging almost half that price for the same work, but I thought I was getting a reputable company. What a ripoff! read more

These guys are a joy to work with, which is not the first emotion that comes to mind when you're dropping $13,626 on a new roof. However, our old roofs (both house and separate garage) had outlived their expected lives, and it was only a matter of time before the great outdoors would start finding its way indoors. From the beginning, Raindrop was prompt, professional and pleasant. The estimator was thorough. The color samples were helpful. Their people explained every aspect of the job. They advised us ahead of time about the possibility of extra charges for materials. The crew itself was super-hardworking, quick and obviously enjoyed their work and one another. They left the workspace clean every day after they finished. I also want to give a shoutout to Tom Leach Roofing, which specializes in roofing old houses such as ours. Tom is a longtime pro who also bid on our roof, and I really wanted to give him our business. But the price difference was enough to tip the scales toward Raindrop. Each roof is different, and Tom might be the right guy for your roof. Fortunately, Raindrop was right for us, and I'm just happy I won't have to worry about this issue again for years to come. read more

I use Raindrop to cover my roof in tarp because my roof shingles came off and my roof was leaking. They quoted me $250 and then charged me $400 after it was all done, without consulting me first. I accepted that because they had already done it. The tarp they put on my roof was the cheapest, thinnest tarp. It started shredding and coming off my roof. Now my roof is completely bare except for the large wood pieces nailed to my roof with tarp peaking out. I can't get my roof fixed yet, but that tarp should have lasted for a few years, at least. Nobody who sees it can believe that a roofing company charged me $400 and then used such cheap tarp. Now my roof is going to leak this winter. read more

At the beginning of the process, Raindrop would have warranted a five star review. The office was courteous when I called, and quick to send out Kenny, the excellent estimator. Kenny wanted to reroof my house (unlike all the other estimators I had out), but made a compelling case to do so. We decided to proceed with repairs instead of a full reroof, however, since he said it wasn't urgent but more preventative. After that, though, things started to get annoying. Raindrop was booking jobs many weeks out, but the office said they could send a crew out to put a tarp over the problem vent area (which wasn't leaking yet, but could be soon). I believe that they wanted to charge somewhere around $295 for this service. But the rains were coming, and I was anxious, so it seemed absolutely worth it. Alas, though, I spent over a week trying to get anyone to return my call, both to get the tarp and the full repair job booked. Finally, I gave up and went with another company, who turned out to be absolutely excellent. read more

We hired Raindrop Roofing NW to correct defects from a previous and unrelated roofer's work completed just a few months prior; a complete tear off and replacement. I wish we had hired Raindrop from the beginning. The staff at Raindrop, all of them, were easy to communicate with, professional, and worth every penny. Their quality of workmanship, even despite the obstacles they had, was flat-simply amazing. We now know who to call for our next reroofing project, which is due to start on another one of my properties next year. read more

Very nice people. Responsive and helpful. I had some minor cracking in drywall in my bathroom and wanted to validate that it was not a roof leak. They came out for free and checked the roof. They quickly validated that it was from moisture in the shower and not from a roof leak. He nicely answered questions I had about installing a skylight but at no point ever tried to upsell me and seemed extremely honest. I didn't end up needing their service but I would use for any roofing needs in future. read more

Raindrop did our roof in May 2009. I got a quote returned quickly and they squeezed our roof into their busy schedule. The day they began tear off a heavy rainstorm happened, however it did not stop them. The tarp tented the roof to keep it dry and continued on. Although there was no evidence of damage on initial inspection, after tearing off the original roof, some of the decking in the valleys had begun to rot. They called me immediately and updated me on the additional cost of repairs. When I got home, the yard was clean, the gutters were clean and the roof was gorgeous! I did have a problem with the valley metal popping up a few days later and they sent someone out the same day to address it. Then they cleaned my gutters again. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for my next roof. read more

The owner of the business called after my Yelp posting to discuss my interactions with the company. He made a nice gesture to make amends for his companies short comings as well as to the owner of the house. I genuinely feel he heard my complaints and frustrations and is attempting to make adjustments to his company so that it doesn't happen again. This is the reason for adding a few more stars - I felt like I was heard. It wasn't that way earlier. We have since moved out of this house and I believe repairs to the ceilings were to be done after we left. Who did them and who paid what, I have no idea. That was for my former landlord to resolve and honestly, not my business. read more

More than a year after they added my roof, I find additional damage while preparing my house for sale. I haven't had anyone else work on the outside of my house. Lesson learned; never use a company who uses subcontractors. I had similar problems, not as extreme, with flooring people but that company went above and beyond to make things right. read more

I recently noticed that my roof had some shingles missing while quite a few had moss on them. I asked around with some friends at work and one of them suggested Raindrop Roofing since they were really pleased with the work done by them. I called and explained what my concerns were, the technician who took my call was very professional and courteous, so much so that I didn't bother calling the other referrals. Sean showed up at the scheduled time inspected the roof and I received an email quote the next day.He also pointed out that I had some missing flashing that could lead to leaks. The quote appeared very reasonable compared to what I was expecting. I gave him the go ahead. They showed up on time and got the work done in the most efficient manner possible, there was no mess to clean up and they even took care of a last minute requirement - removed an old dish that was attached to the roof and patched it up like nothing had been there. The before and after pictures clearly showed the excellent quality of their work . I have been very happy with their work and not a single shingle out of place despite the windstorms we had since. If I ever have roofing needs in the future it won't be a decision as who to call, it'll just be an automatic reaction to call them - but I doubt I'll have to, given how good their work is. read more

Raindrop Roofing was recommended to me by someone who had done her homework and had already had them over for an estimate. My roof's not too large (figure 1200 square feet) but presented its own challenges including a mysterious leak, awful ventilation, some questionable previous work, and more. Kenny from Raindrop was available promptly for a discussion and an estimate. He found several layers of roofing underneath which were causing a significant amount of bowing, and had a concern about dry rot they might find. While he was here, he even put some effort into trying to get my mysterious leak to manifest. I was pretty impressed. The estimate provided was thorough and detailed, and included an additional estimate for the "what if" scenarios we discussed (dry rot, etc). As soon as I had my paperwork in it wasn't long before I was scheduled for the work. We had to play it by ear a little on account of the rain, but once we pulled the trigger a team of maybe 5 people came and took care of my roof in all of two days! The crew was nice, respectful and even seemed pretty happy - I could hear muted indications that they were conversing pleasantly while the work was done. I think the total bill came in within $50 of the estimate. The roof is gorgeous, and I'm pretty damned sure there's no leak. Now to get the rest of the house to match.. read more

Raindrop was fantastic! I was buying a home and the roof looked good from the ground but thought I had better get a second opinion. I called Raindrop and they sent out Ryan. He was amazingly thorough, inspecting the skylights, chimney condition, calculating the venting out of the house as wells as the lower venting needed for the air to come in. It ends up this is required by all shingle manufacturers so their warranty is not void (There is an actual venting calculator he had so be sure to ask your roofer for the calculations) He looked at the shingles and found pressure washer marks and deterioration. He found leaking behind the gutters and rotten plywood edges where he lifted the gutter edge metal and took pictures and showed the rot to me. There was a lot wrong with the roof and he gave me a quote to repair all the areas of rot and the other issues also to replace the skylights. He also gave me a full replacement quote and even though that was a couple of thousand more than the repair I figured I wanted my roof to look the same color and be 100% complete. He told me it would not match for a while if I did the repair but that it would weather in later. He looked at my attic which I wanted to raise and make a second story. He gave me the name of two remodelers who he had worked with for years. I got a bid for the second story but because it was more than I planned to spend I decided to keep the house the way it is. He took the time to explain technical details and options so I could choose the one that best fit my budget and my long-term plans for the house. He did emphasize the importance of properly venting the roof to prevent mold and to protect my investment. The other roofers who bid the job didn't go into the attic and did not include all the venting in the quote they just said "Vent to code". One would not tell me how many vents for the air going out and said I did not need any place for the air to get in even though I had almost nowhere for the air to come in. He could not tell me the calculations without making another trip to my roof. The other roofer said "Vent to code" but had another $1000 small print line item to add the air in ventilation I would need to actually have a warranty on my roof. Both of these other roofers are highly rated too. Once I accepted the bid, Raindrop's office people promptly notified me of when the job would start, and called me the day before the job to make sure I remembered. I had hidden the key to house for access to the garage and attic for skylights and they passed that information along to their foreman and supervisor. The crew arrived as scheduled and finished the job in a day and a half! They emailed me photos of the job in progress which was a welcome surprise. The quote included replacing 10 sheets of rotten plywood, but they gave me a bill for less than quoted because they found a couple sheets that were not rotten. I did not even know I would get a credit! They cleaned up at the end of the first day and also when the left on the second. The crew must have really enjoyed the work, as they were singing every time I stopped by! They ran a magnet to pick up nails around the lawn and driveway, raked and they also cleaned the moss off of my hot tub roof for free! I received an email from the superintendent saying the job was finished, with more photos and a thank you for the work. What a great company. I felt totally taken care of! My yard looked better when they left than it did when they arrived. Ryan called me later and asked me how the job went and what I liked about it and what if anything they could improve. I had nothing to tell them to improve. They obviously really care about the customer. read more

I recently contacted Raindrop due to a leaking roof. We setup an appointment for diagnosis and estimate. The Raindrop representative, Oscar, was punctual and friendly. He wrote up a quote on the spot that was far lower than I expected. Raindrop came out the following week and made the agreed-upon repairs. They emailed me with an invoice and with pictures of the work performed (before/after). They emailed me again when they received my payment. I met with five roofers before I chose Raindrop to replace my roof. Of the five, Raindrop's rep, Kenny, impressed me the most. He took the time to really evaluate my roof, explained all the issues, how they'd address them, and how their ventilation system worked (it's different than many other roofers). I also wanted a metal roof, and they seemed to really know what they were doing with those materials. When the bids came in, their price was very competitive, so it was an easy choice. Now that the work has been completed, I couldn't be more pleased with my choice of contractor. Raindrop's crew was very efficient, thorough and left our property neat and tidy. I also received great communication throughout the job via emails with pics and explanations of repairs from the job supervisor. The roof itself looks fantastic, with a lot of attention to detail on the installation of those tricky metal panels. Raindrop also has great office support staff--they get the paperwork and details worked out with you promptly and professionally. I am surprised by the few negative reviews of Raindrop Roofing. Our experience was excellent! We got 10 bids for our home - we have a ranch and it's a lot of roof! Raindrop was in the middle range and their representative impressed us. Everything was done on time, professionally and the crew was very responsible and careful with our plantings and property. They finished today and it's just starting to rain. We got lucky! While I probably should wait to make sure the job they did was perfect, I'm 100% sure they will stand behind their work. They are friendly, did a great job and although the project was delayed due to weather, they finished in a pretty timely manner and stayed very close to the estimated price. There were a few communication issues at the beginning of the process (be sure you receive both the estimate and then later a "what to expect" informational sheet). It's unlike me to complain like this but I am hoping I can save some other consumer the hassle I suffered. They came to fix the roof on my townhouse, and I suppose it should have been a big red flag when the imbeciles they sent out tore up half the OTHER guy's roof by mistake. After they finished repairing the adjoining roof and, supposedly, mine, I had another guy take a look at what they'd done, only to find shoddy work. Every little thing was a struggle, like pulling teeth--they were supposed to come back and paint it, which they hadn't done, then did a shoddy job of that as well. My experience with raindrop has been an absolute nightmare. Where to start? The estimate that they gave me was on the higher side at $28k, but after reading reviews, I thought I would be in good hands. So I hired them during the summer to replace my roof and gutters. The job was done on time with no fuss. After the job was done, It took them a three weeks and a phone call to retrieve the port-a-potty that had been parked in front of my house, but that was only a minor annoyance. Everything was great for a few months and then right around the end of the year my roof started leaking. I went up top and saw three inches os standing water. I called raindrop three times and they finally sent someone over in a a few days. When they guy got here, he was very nice and personable. He saw the standing water and said that he would have to talk to his boss about how to fix it. He also said that the leak was from a hole, which he patched and then left without a word. A few days later I got a bill for $200 because the incident happened outside of the 90 warranty window. This, in it's self, is fine. They didn't tell me that I was out of warranty or how much the repair was going to cost, but hey they found and fix the problem and would fix the standing water. But the next big rain showed that the leak wasn't fixed. In fact the same spot is leaking and another spot started leaking. And nothing was done about the three inches of standing water. We called again about the leaks and the standing water. They said they would send a guy out that day. My wife took off work so she could be there to talk with them. No one came. No one called. Nothing. I called them several times leaving a my number to call me back. Nothing. Until today when they called to say we still owe them $200 for the "repair" job. Nothing about how it's still leaking, nothing about how we still have three inches of standing water on our roof. Nothing about the no-show appointment. Nothing about the unreturned messages. Just a call saying we owe $200 an that they will put a lean on the house if it's not paid promptly. So as it stands, it's been two months since I first contacted them. I'm out $28k for the roof and $200 for the "repair". My roof is leaking in two places, there is three inches of standing water. At this point I will probably have to hire someone else to fix my roof since raindrop will not or can not do the job. read more
