A few hiccups along the way (blasting music at 3am from their truck parked in my driveway, I stepped on on of their roofing nails (ouch!), and this oddity in the upper rain gutter where it unnecessarily slants making it look horrible. I realize gutters need to slope to drain water, but this one is extreme and looks stupid). Would I recommend these guys? Maybe. Update: Clear Vision finally sent a crew out to fix the small section of rain gutter with the unusual slant. So kudos to them for following up albeit weeks later. (BTW, I also asked for a bid to paint my house : they provided a dollar quote but didn't send anyone to talk to me about what I needs or what service they would provide. To say the least, they didn't paint my house.)

The problem turned out to be one JBC could not repair, but our interaction would prompt me to highly recommend JBC.

We recently had a roof leak due to the cover of an attic vent slipping off on our roof. Had some…read moremoderate water damage to one wall in our master bedroom. Called JBC and they came out almost immediately. Mark (I think was his name) went up on the roof and took a look. He nailed the cover back in place and inspected the area around it. He said there was no other damage that he could see and that the roof looked pretty good. He also said that while JBC doesn't do sheet rock work, they could refer us to a business they contract with. We told him we'd get back to him as soon as we got our insurance settlement. JBC also gave us a quote for cleaning and sealing the roof, applying moss retardant, cleaning the gutters, etc., and we are just about ready to call and schedule a date. If we are happy with their work, we will call the in the spring to discuss having a new roof put on. Stay tuned for another review.

Javier not only had the best price, but he was a delight to work with. He's meticulous, and his attention to detail is extraordinary. Javier is also a great communicator who's humble. We had a challenging section in the front of our house that involved a large tree overhanging the garage. They built a ramp to the dumpster which caught all the debris, and they didn't break a single branch. His crew did a terrific job tearing out the old roof, replacing some rotted boards, and installing new Certainteed Landmark shingles. They added roof vents where we needed them, re-directed several attic vents, and even replaced our old skylight with a new one. They did a fantastic job cleaning up and we've gotten many compliments on the new roof. If you're bidding a new roof, make sure you include J. Roofing in the mix. You will love the results!

Pricing of the project was very reasonable; I think it was the second-lowest quote we got, but Sawtooth's materials and warranty were better. Jose and his crew did a great job. During the job, every day's end-of-day cleanup was great. The end result looks beautiful, and we're very happy with the way everything went. The high end materials and awesome warranty also add to the satisfaction of a job well done. One hiccup: 2 fascia boards with some minor dry-rot at their ends were supposed to be replaced before the installation of new gutters (new gutters were part of the project). Somehow that fell through the cracks, and the gutters went up over the 2 boards. Darrin quickly took ownership of the issue, and did a great job of repairing/rebuilding the corner where the problem was. Very satisfied with the response to the issue! Suggestion to Sawtooth: if new gutters are in the project, they need to be included in the project scope all the way to the end. That includes final inspection and invoicing. The QA inspection by Nick should have been done AFTER the gutters were installed, not before. The inspection should include both the roof and the gutters, not just the roof. The final invoice should be emailed AFTER the gutters are installed, and all issues are settled.

Abel and Jairo from Klam were the only ones who looked in our attic space and discussed ventilation with us. The Klam bid was inline with other bids that did not include adding any ventilation. We went with Klam and they were able to get us on their schedule more quickly than we expected. The crew arrived on time and were all very nice. They kept the job site clean each day and spent a lot of time after they finished making sure they had picked everything up from the yard. Abel and Jairo came by again at the end to make sure we were happy, which we are. Absolutely recommend them.

Just wanted to update and say how thrilled we are with the roof and skylights installed by KLAM 3…read moreyears ago. It's a joy to listen to hard rain fall on the roof and skylights and not worry about any leaks. Able's advice on using flat profile shingles turned out to be exactly correct. We're in the woods and used to have problems with fir needles accumulating on the roof surface. Now, the needles wash right off just as he'd told us they would. Moss growth is also much more manageable than with the old roof. We couldn't be happier!!!

Admittedly, we missed moving it before they got here but leaving it on the ground without even a heads up is just poor business. They also trampled and blew debris all over a well-marked patch of new grass we have been growing. While they did do what they promised and cleaned off the flat surfaces (driveway, etc) with a blower, they do so by blowing the debris from your gutters all over your lawn and flower beds. Having been in the gutter business I am well aware of the challenges associated with the job and in my opinion their performance was lack-luster at best.

Megan was great, getting us scheduled with an estimator very quickly. I had a disappointing experience with the estimator this morning that makes me not interested in working with All Surface, at all. After looking at the exhaust fan ducts/vents - the estimator told me that 2 of the 4 other vents we have on our roof are placed in the wrong spots and that they want to remove those 2 vents, patch, re-shingle, and install 4 new vents on the other side of the house for a total of 6 vents (2 existing and 4 new) as well as adding the 2 stem vents for the exhaust fans. I asked what the purpose of relocating/adding those 4 vents would be as we are not experiencing any moisture issues in the attic. The estimator explained some airflow/air pressure dynamics which made sense. I then asked if we could look at replacing the aging vents in their existing locations as an additional option to what he proposed and that's where it escalated. He responded with an annoyed "We don't just throw shit on people's roofs". and continued to say that they're the experts and they're going to do things the right way. This was a completely unnecessary response to a genuine question. I'm not trying to get you to do things the wrong way - I was asking if there was a way to minimize the level of work needed when there are functioning ventilation penetrations already in place. The response was not friendly, educational, or good customer service in any way. This experience really soured my opinion of All Surface and don't plan on working with them. I hope others do not experience the same type of interaction I did.
