Owner (or Manager, not sure) was very present and friendly and you got the feeling they were most concerned with our group having fun over anything else. Kind of place you could Go to alone and chat with others. Just really nice people. Did the sloppy joes (signature dish) have too much bbq do me? Yes but I didn't even care. Burgers were great. Ask for wings extra crispy.

Backyards…read more "Backyards" is the place where NY Jets Football Fans meet on game days. They have a patio, a full bar, and about ten TVs. The TVs are fully visible from the floor. The patio has about five TVs suspended from above. It's a good place to eat if you have been to Ody Sea, Butterfly Wonderland, or Medieval Times. The food is so good, I've never heard complaints about it. I'd recommend the following four, but don't limit yourself to them. Chipotle Ranch Chicken Sandwich, Bomb Tacos, Grilled Chicken Pita. The coffee is excellent too. They are very accommodating, and during the half-time crunch, the service can be a little slow. They are, however, very accommodating. Backyards can cater. It has done so while we were there. There is plenty of room. Recommended items would be the Chipotle Ranch Chicken Sandwich, Bomb Tacos, and the Grilled Chicken Pita. It is always spotless. I can't say enough about it. You really have to try it. PS - If you are a Jets Fan, stop in.

It had duck bacon (was curious about this bc I'm not a fan of duck), turkey sausage, black beans, quinoa, egg, spinach and more. Somehow that entire medley was perfection when it comes to flavor. Usually bowls can be dry with no sauce, but it was not lacking at all. Staff and service: 5/5 we brought our dog Tom who's a pretty big golden doodle and sometimes can get overly excited when he gets brought outside. But their staff was nice enough to give us a dog bowl with water for him and served his egg on a little to go box plate. It's a little stressful with Tom at times and they made it so much easier. Inside/outside set-up: 5/5. They have a gorgeous inside dining with bar situation. Interior design was super cute for a date and I loved the hanging lamps. Outside had a dog friendly patio and they had cute canopy booths. Overall, we went here on a whim and it's my new favorite spot.

We were welcomed with a friendly smile. We explained that the other half of our party was on their way & the host promptly prepared our table... mostly. There were small plates set for each of us, but only one roll-up/napkin (for 4) & no drink menu. Minor details, but it kinda set the tone for the service experience. Now listen... the spot itself is cute. Once we actually got service, our waiter was cool. It just took forevvverrrrr & I ended up having to request cutlery after food was served. To be fair, it was busy, but there also seemed to be plenty of wait staff, so I'm not exactly sure where the disconnect was. Food-wise: the spinach artichoke dip was definitely the table favorite. My caprese panini was ok, it was sadly lacking pesto which feels a little criminal for a caprese situation. Our friends loved the fancy French toast & I was absolutely there for the prickly pear mimosas The entire brunch honestly felt like it was one dropped plate away from becoming a sitcom episode. One poor new waiter dropped a plate on the floor, then later knocked glasses off the rack above the bar & shattered a couple right next to guests sitting there. I genuinely felt bad for him because you could tell he was having a rough shift. That said, I really appreciated that they acknowledged the long wait & gave us a discount without us having to ask. That kind of accountability goes a long way. Overall, I'd still go back & give them another try because the atmosphere was fun, the vibe was there, and I can see the potential. Every restaurant has an off day -- especially during a busy brunch rush.

We located this Location based on one of my YELP friends that I've been following for years as she really loves Aftermath. On this occasion, we were lucky enough that they had live music. The musician was fantastic and just really talented. We ended up sitting in a nice cozy booth where we could stretch out and feel comfortable and relax. For drink drinks we ordered the old-fashioned and also the big easy. We both enjoyed our drinks and moved on to ordering Andre's. My husband ordered the aftermath burger and I ordered the meatloaf. All in all, we were really happy with our selections and actually ended up getting a second round of cocktails as they were really delicious. For this round of transition to the Cabernet red wine, which is Dauo Wines and it was really tasty. We'll definitely be back, hope that this musician continues to play live music. The drink or music on Sunday night, really made it a fun date night experience.

Kimchi fried rice was a good portion but bland - no flavor of kimchi or anything really... Aftermath wings with the dill ranch was okay- wings were dry but ranch made up for it. Really didn't get the house hot sauce on it at all. Burger- Highly touted on social media for an amazing burger but honestly for $24 each, you're better off getting a burger anywhere else. We ordered both the Aftermath Burger and Jalapeño Burger. Nothing stood out in a good or bad way so... forgettable. Service- Slow. Only one bartender who mostly was slow. Drinks and water sat empty for quite a while we ate. For a total of $120+tip, it was really middle of the pack.

Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! New food menu tomorrow too?! What?! I was almost tempted to back today to get more of their amazing dishes from the main menu!! Thank you Cat for the amazing hospitality! We were greeted promptly by name by the hostess, who then took us to our table, where 2 gentlemen awaited to pull out and push in our chairs and then place napkins on our laps. The restaurant is decorated with native paintings and decor there is plenty of space between tables - you are within ear shot of the party next to you but it remains quiet enough for you to converse within your party without competing with others. The view from the restaurant at sunset was incredibly beautiful. They have an outdoor patio that you can go out on for a photo op, and the wait staff was out right behind us to see if they could take some photos for us. Every time you were seated at the table, they would push in your chair and place napkins on your laps. Laura, Austin & Taylor were who assisted us in our dining adventure and they were all so incredible and attentive. Our water glasses never got below half before Austin was over filling them again. Kai offers a tasting menu with 7 courses, 4 of which you make a choice. My meal included: The Birth - From the Elders, The Beginning - Elk Ragu, The Journey - Bison, The Afterlife - S-Thoa Mu:n, & the Honey Dessert. All of which were delicious. Kai runs $195/person or $350 w/ Wine Pairing, and the service alone was worth that. Dining at Kai was such a unique experience. It takes between 2-3 hours for the full experience. Each menu has its own hand-painted indigenous art piece on the front. The staff greets you in the native language and they include traditions of the native people throughout the evening. Upon our decent, our car was ready at valet waiting for us - with a gift and card from our server. Which was such a nice touch.

You kind of have to have higher standards. Let's start with the great. The service was perfect, I didn't have a single worry or want the entire time I was there. The staff were very friendly and made sure everything was taken care of. Saying they were attentive was an understatement. Now to the good. The food tasted good. There were certainly no issues with any of the courses, and I enjoyed them all. Same with the cocktails. I enjoyed the flavors of the ones we tried. Now to the not so good(the pretentious part). The decor and vibes of the restaurant were very distracting. You walk into the hotel lobby and are greeted with an amazing view, then you keep walking and get into Kai... and you're greeted with a bunch of knick-knacks all over the walls that try to distract you from what is obviously just a hotel conference room. To continue the theme of vibe, it was also just so quiet the whole time we were there with a very low volume white noise ambiance. If my date and I weren't whispering, the whole room would be able to hear our conversation. That might be the preference for some finer diners, but for us it was a bit awkward. Next, I want to call attention to the 22-25$ cocktails we got. They were good, but they weren't 25$ good. I frequent cocktail bars and even they aren't this overpriced. Finally, I want to talk about the food again. I want to emphasize that the food tasted good, and everything was cooked well. My issue is that none of the courses were amazing. Not a single one did I think, holy cow I need to tell someone about this. This isn't a critique I would usually make, but this was one of the highest priced fine dining restaurants I've been to, and I expected the quality to reflect that. I even got their signature dish, the bison, and it was cooked well, but the flavors were pretty standard. If you want to feel like a king being waited on and don't mind throwing down 500-600$ on pretty good food, this is your place. If you've been saving up all year to have the most incredible meal you've had in a while, I think there are some better choices out there in the area.

Comfortable, sorta on the dark side. Classy. As I was not driving today, I decided to try their smoked Old Fashioned. Excellent -- and the dark cherries they use are the perfect addition to the cocktail. (The glass is coated with smoke from a smoldering piece of pecan wood, and the cocktail was served with a cloud of smoke under a coaster covering the glass.) The pig sickles ( ribs) were the perfect chance to make a pig of myself. Had the two meat plate, pig sickles and barbecued pulled chicken, If you like corn, you must have the side of corn with your dinner. The barbecue beans were delicious. Our server did a magnificent job tending to our drinks, appetizer, and food orders -- despite being very busy (the place was packed! -- and seemed like she was in constant motion. Very nice individual who liked la Prices? It was expensive, but the best barbecue always is. Eating isn't cheap. It was well worth every dollar spent. All in all, it was a perfect dinner.
