They're not that great so we will be going elsewhere. I started this enrollment process back in March! And we're going into august. Head up, You are able to go online and file an enrollment complaint through district. The school has shut off their reviews on Google because they know they they have people complaining.

The gals in the office are always kind to us when we come in to drop off items for the students. I like how I see the staff interacting with the students while out and about. A lot of teens in Surprise chose this school to attend even when outside the area to be assigned this school. Like any school there still will be bullies, drugs and other obstacles, but they police and security daily. They also offer after school tutoring when students are falling behind in school work or having a hard time catching on.

I mainly put the blame on the admin team. For starters, they haven't got a clue of what they're supposed to be doing, and it shows in their faces. They are always worried about the wrong things. They are extremely inconsistent and sloppy; this showed specifically during our advisory classes when we were supposed to learn things about adulthood/college & career readiness. Most of the time, our teacher had not the slightest clue of what was supposed to be happening. Many other students who I've spoken to have stated the same. Not only that, they treat not just students, but other people as well (myself included) with the upmost disrespect. Security is even worse. I understand that school safety measures must be taken in order to sustain a safe learning environment. However, it is almost prison-like how they treat it. I personally could hardly ever go to the bathroom without being stopped by a security guard. Not to mention they treat the students with no respect whatsoever. Security has even stopped me from going back to class whether I was coming back from the bathroom or coming from the office. To add on, if students are forced to stay after hours, I've found that security kicks them outside; no matter the weather. It is quite obvious to see that that could very well be an endangerment to someone's life; especially if it's 100+ degrees outside. I would like to state however, that the teachers at this school are phenomenal. Out of all the teachers I had over the years, every single one of them inspired me to be a better learner. Their empowerment keeps me going through college even today. The admin team however, does not set these teachers up for success. Information sent throughout the school is from what I've experienced, vague and unclear. So, if you are new to the area and you're looking at schools for your student, do not send them here. Verrado High School should be the last option on your list of schools to send your child. I would even consider sending my child somewhere else. Back at it again with the rude administration! Chapter 2 begins when I worked quite hard to complete a script for my fabulous theater class. (Not sarcastic) As I was just feeling proud of my completion of my assignment, I asked my teacher to go print it out at the library. There was my mistake. As I walked into the library glowing with pride, I said "hello! Can I please print my assignment?" The "lady" at the desk then replied in a very snobby, privileged Verrado woman way saying "do you have a pass?" To which I replied with "My teacher sent me down. Do you need me to go all the way back to class just to come right back here?" Smiling, as if I was stupid, she said "Uhhh yea". NOW HOLD UP!!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Since when is my teachers approval to leave class not good enough??? As I walked out all I could think was "10 more days of this ridiculousness."
