I mainly put the blame on the admin team. For starters, they haven't got a clue of what they're supposed to be doing, and it shows in their faces. They are always worried about the wrong things. They are extremely inconsistent and sloppy; this showed specifically during our advisory classes when we were supposed to learn things about adulthood/college & career readiness. Most of the time, our teacher had not the slightest clue of what was supposed to be happening. Many other students who I've spoken to have stated the same. Not only that, they treat not just students, but other people as well (myself included) with the upmost disrespect. Security is even worse. I understand that school safety measures must be taken in order to sustain a safe learning environment. However, it is almost prison-like how they treat it. I personally could hardly ever go to the bathroom without being stopped by a security guard. Not to mention they treat the students with no respect whatsoever. Security has even stopped me from going back to class whether I was coming back from the bathroom or coming from the office. To add on, if students are forced to stay after hours, I've found that security kicks them outside; no matter the weather. It is quite obvious to see that that could very well be an endangerment to someone's life; especially if it's 100+ degrees outside. I would like to state however, that the teachers at this school are phenomenal. Out of all the teachers I had over the years, every single one of them inspired me to be a better learner. Their empowerment keeps me going through college even today. The admin team however, does not set these teachers up for success. Information sent throughout the school is from what I've experienced, vague and unclear. So, if you are new to the area and you're looking at schools for your student, do not send them here. Verrado High School should be the last option on your list of schools to send your child. I would even consider sending my child somewhere else. This school is a terrible place, and I don't see it changing anytime in the near future.

She gave me and my husband attitude and she was very rude. She made it seem like a burden for her to do her job. However, the other front office lady was very kind. Regardless, I still chose to enroll my children here. They have all said several negative things about the staff at this school. I do believe some of the teachers here are good teachers with good intentions but this school lacks empathy for their students. Nobody should go to school and fear any staff members. I do understand students are required to follow a strict dress code, bathroom rules, etc but there's a fine line between discipline and just disrespect. This is a high school, not a prison. Have more empathy for these students, they're our future.

I will preface this with 0 stars!!…read more My child has attended this campus for three years and while there have been minimal issues the last two years. This year has by far been horrendous! The staff and administration present as if they thrive off parent involvement and accountability when in actuality they want the students to simply know the answers and test high, with no interaction from parents and when parents step in to seek guidance, support or clarification and attempt to hold staff and administration accountable they find any reason they can to paint the parent as the issue. Not only have I filed a police report against a teacher this year, I am now on my THIRD formal complaint with the board, have pulled my child and will be moving forward with legal steps. If you are an active, involved, and communicative parent this school will not be supportive. They focus on high score students and if your child begins to struggle in any capacity.. well it's up to your child to figure it out because 9 year olds are expected to be independent with their academic career. All while the administration allows for staff to intimidate, harass, bully, and use bias towards youth.

He sends out schedules for band performances last minute (the day prior or day of) preventing our family to going to support our child due to work conflicts. Let's hope they either get a better band director who can show respect and actually teach the kids instead of yelling 80% of the time. Lets hope he gets his act together and does better. For that he gets downgraded to Mr. Instead of Dr.. The stand in prercussion coach is amazing. Hopefully he comes back next year.

Any time we have had a question or concern it has been addressed in a timely fashion. I wish their sports teams had a little bit better record, but hey I am just glad my kids want to play!
