Friends told me about this dry clean place 7 years ago and ever since my entire family has been coming here for not only our dry clean needs, but also for any tailoring or mending that needs to be done. For example if my Jeans pants are too long and need to be shortened, or if the sleeves of my shirts need to be altered. The owner Sabrina is amazing and helpful - she has removed stubborn stains, rescued clothing that I have over-stretched or ruined, and have fixed countless zippers etc issues for all of us. I used to use an online pick up service for my dry cleaning but I have decided to fully switch over to Rainbow cleaners! I think it's priced well. I love the hours. It's so nice that this store stays open late enough to drop off after work. That was the main reason I used the online service was that it was hard to get to the cleaners before they closed. They also do tailoring and I got a pair of alo sweatpants hemmed perfectly for a shortie like me. I did have an issue one time with a dress that was somewhat lost from my order and wasn't ready on my pickup date. They actually gave me the wrong dress. It was a little confusing because there were two long navy dresses. They handled it super professionally, resolved the issue, and comped the service. I really like to see this as a customer. When there is an issue don't make it a big deal, fix the issue, and everyone goes home happy. We all understand that mistakes happen but how they are resolved is what keeps the customer coming by. And if they didn't sell you, the woman who works the counter is such a sweetheart and funny too. read more

Been coming here for a couple years now (probably since ~ 2015) and I still keep coming here - even if it means driving up the peninsula because it's worth it! The seamstress/ dry cleaner associate and their quality of work is absolutely wonderful!! I really don't trust others with my clothes besides Rainbow Cleaners now, lol. For Dry cleaning: she has an eye for detail & will spot stains that I sometimes miss. Or when I come in with stain removal requests or dry cleaning requests for special fabrics (even for the rare but odd favorite stuffed animal), she is upfront about disclosing which stains will come out & which will be unlikely to help set expectations before I commit to dry cleaning special items. And she treats clothes with care! I've never had anything ruined by them (knock on wood), but unfortunately have had items ruined by other dry cleaners or streamstresses (RIP my old favorite blue dress and old blanket). The seamstress at Rainbow cleaner also has helped me alter/ shorten an tulle evening dress & suit pants, etc. Before alterations, I'll try it on the item & discuss with her what and why I would like shortened and ask her recommendations for how much to shorten, where to shorten, and why. And she'll helpfully explain (disclosure: in Chinese and I will admit my ABC Chinese is really more for basic conversations, nothing in depth on the level of talking about economics for instance - but the seamstress was patient with me; FYI, the seamstress also speaks English & is pretty friendly, but most of the times I come I try to practice my Chinese), that shorting by X length in my case may be best if I'm going to be wearing Y length tall evening heels for ascetic & ease of walking. And when I mentioned I hoped to loose a bit of weight before wearing the evening dress, she kindly explained how that would impact the length and the effect on my altering/shortening my dress, so we could decide together what would be the ideal length of dress for me. Plus, last but not least the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality you get! I've never seen other seamstresses & dry cleaners show this level of consideration to the craft and to impact they have on customer's clothes/special item's & the customer's experience and for prices they charge! read more

Rainbow Cleaners gives you top notch service, quality work, reasonable prices, and they always have a smile for you. I have been using them on occasion for 5 months now and I have3 to say. I think they are one of the best cleaners I have ever used. The quality of the work has always been good and the prices are reasonable. The woman who works the counter is super friendly and always smiling. She remembers me - don't even have to give he my name and she gets my order. If I walk by and say hi and tell her I'll be back later to pick up, when I get there my clothes are already hanging near the front waiting for me. And the hours they work are crazy long - they are there late quite often. Also, they have a tiny lot that they share with the market next door, so you can usually drive and park if you need to. My litmus tests for whether or not a dry cleaner is good are: 1. My clothes are returned to me in better condition than I handed them off (Duh, they're dirty and have "questionable" stains on them) 2. I develop a working relationship with the staff 3. I have no fear of handing over my Brioni suits and Egyptian french cuff silk shirts (okay, I Iied. More like CK and Hugo Boss. I can't afford Brioni. Fine, I can't afford Egyptian silks, either) Rainbow cleaners passes these tests with flying colors. Not only do they know my name after only a few visits, the turn around time is excellent and I have never had a problem or fear of bringing any of my clothes to them. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because they probably use PERC because they do not advertise about using environmentally friendly organic cleaners. I've never gone to get any of my clothing dry cleaned until I started dressing my age in the past couple years. I've accumulated coats and jackets thanks to the bf spoiling me whilst getting rid of hoodies and pull overs. I got a blazer, and 2 heavy coats dry cleaned and one of those coats needed fixing on the inner lining where the shoulder and body met. Grand total came to $25. The other reviews have said it all so I won't repeat the great customer service, quality, location, parking, and what not (whoops... I did it anyway). Their pricing is taped on the counter when you set your stuff down so be wary! But I won't go there for hemming since it's a bit expensive @ $12/pair. I'm sticking with Eldo in SJ for her quality and prices ($6/pair). The other nice thing is that they are right over the hill from me so getting there isn't a problem at all and there's always a parking space right out the door. I used to live about 10 steps from Rainbow Cleaners, and of course, began to bring my clothes there out of convenience. What a lucky find! I now have moved to the Marina, refuse to use any other cleaner, and will drive to the Inner Richmond just to continue to do business there. Not only are they the cheapest in town (I am continually shocked when I bring in a ton of work clothes, and my bill is only $40!), they get out tough stains, promise same-day service, and do great alterations. PLUS, I don't even go all that often and the owner knows my name, remembers how to spell it, and always looks happy to see me. Though it is just a dry cleaners, it totally makes my day to go! One trip, I only had one thing to pick up, and was charged like $2.50 or something. I did not have cash, and I was hesitant to write a check for that small amount. She was so sweet, refused to take the check and just told me to pay her next time! Of course, I remembered that and added extra $ on my next visit. I've been going there for 4 years, and will continue to do so as long as I live in the city. They are the ONLY dry cleaner I'll use! (Who knew I'd get so worked up over the cleaners?!) read more

I live right up the street (Blake) from Rainbow Cleaners. Not only are they close, they do a great job. I take both dry cleaning and wash 'n fold laundry here and both are done professionally. Prices, especially for laundry, are totally reasonable. I've never used the same day service but judging by how promptly everything else is done, I'm sure it's fine. The lady who works here is friendly as can be (although there is a language barrier) and she's always there. I swear they work 100 hours a week. Closed on Sundays. read more

I asked her if I could pick it up the next day instead, because they are my only dress pants, and she said "no problem." The next day she remembered me by name. My FYI, that I agree with most of the peeps here, this cleaner is the bomb! I've had a pretty good experience overall keeping that funky smell out of the dry-cleaning that you get from others in the neighborhood. The front reception lady does receive you with a big smile and remembers you everytime. It is good to know that they do stitching and drapes for the curtain rods. This place is awesome! The woman who works the front desk is always in a good mood and truly seems grateful for the business no matter how few items you bring. I started coming here based on other yelp reviews and the quality of cleaning, speed and price is unbeatable! I travel a lot for work and usually have to wear business formal so I bring a lot of clothing here. It is cash only, but totally more affordable than what I'm used to paying for dry cleaning. They also do tailoring - I have shortened a few pairs of jeans. One time I had a tear in my dress and they sewed it up for free! If you bring in stuff before 1 PM on any given, day, they will have it done by EOD (after 5:30 PM) that same day at no extra cost! They are also open late, until around 8 PM Mon-Sat, so if you are rushing to bring your stuff in after work - they will be there! They don't open until 8 or 9 AM though, so the before work drop off is hard. read more

What's with dry cleaners in SF messing up your clothes and absolutely refusing to admit fault? Mistakes happen, but just own up to them. The first couple times I came here, there was no problem and the lady was nice, but it got ugly real quick after that. I noticed a blue stain on one of my shirts that was not previously there and decided to go in and ask about it, as well as to tell her to please be careful with the new batch of shirts that I had just dropped off the day before. She didn't take responsibility but instead gave me some excuse about it being from a pen stain that I already had there before, which I was quite skeptical of, because I literally never use blue pens, but accepted it and just told her to be careful with the current batch. However, then I found another shirt also with ugly ink stains and I decided to ask them about it again, and she had another excuse for that shirt and made it sound as if these stains are just bound to happen. When I called her out on these excuses and mentioned that no other cleaner I've gone to had stained my shirts like that before, she started flipping out. Basically made no sense in the following ten minutes while half yelling at me about how I was questioning her explanation or something (yeah because it didn't make sense) and that I shouldn't have been so adamant that she was the cause of the stains, because I'm just as likely to be responsible. Uh, no, if I drop something off and there isn't a stain on the cuff, and when I get it back there is a stain there, you caused it. Just admit it, say sorry, and move on, I'm not asking for any monetary compensation here. I stayed calm while she was flipping out but I kept at it because like Jerry Seinfeld once said, "just once, I would like to hear a dry cleaner admit that something was their fault." Eventually it just made less and less sense as I called her out for yelling and she said that it was my fault that she was yelling. Huh? Anyway, not coming here again. The flipping out and absolute refusal to admit her mistakes made this experience particularly bad. From a even more practical standpoint, though, I'm not coming here again because they messed up my shirts, and I'm just not gonna risk it with this place when there are plenty of other places around. Also they did a pretty terrible job of actually cleaning out sweat stains around the collar and cuff too. read more
