Overpriced! I needed a dress taken up about 5 inches, she quoted me $200 and it would be done in a week! I took my dress to a cleaner by a friend in Pinole and it was $60 and it was done in 2 days. REALLY messed up! Don't take anything there for alterations, they are a rip off! read more

They are really fast and the clothes come out clean. My only complaint was I took by wedding gown in to be hermatically sealed. They cheaped me out on the tissue paper. You're suppose to stuff the dress with tissue so it looks nice through the window box. They didn't do that so now my dress is slumped over in its hermatically sealed box. I had a detachable train but now I wonder if they even included it or they robbed me of the train. DH won't let me open it to see (we paid lots to get this hermatically sealed!) so I guess I'll find out 20 years from now. The owners at Sundown Cleaner helped restore my 16-year-old MaxMara long silk dress into its wearable condition. I had the misfortune of choosing a dry cleaner on Noriega that ruined my dress by using harsh chemicals on it. I got $80 as an apology. However, I was not able to wear my dress anymore, as it looked a lifeless, dull dried up vegetable. I next took it to Kent Dry Cleaner in Richmond District, who refused bluntly to dry clean my ruined dress. I dug up courage to try another cleaner, Sundown Cleaner, who operates their own plant. The owners were so patient and empathic to listen to my whole traumatic experience of the ruined silk dress. While they said they could not promise anything, they would try to make the dress come back to life. Voila! A few days later when I went to pick up the dress, I was sooooo pleased with what they had done! HIGHLY TRUSTED tailoring! I was a victim of being too optimistic ordering a "custom" suit for Sumissura, and it arrived probably two sizes too big. Do not bring serious denim like iron hearts or jeans that are selvedge, she wouldnt be able to chainstitch. An experienced seamstress is really hard to find. Sundown Cleaners sucks. Don't ever take your clothes here, Sundown will torture them. Here is the story - Brought a couple pieces of clothing here for dry cleaning. One of them was a soft lamb skin jacket with a wine stain on it, I showed the wine stain to the worker and asked if the stain could be cleaned. The worker told me that it should be no problem. I asked him to take good care of the jacket because it's lamb skin. Then the worker took a double look on the jacket and said, "oh really? it doesn't look like lamb skin." I told him that it sure was made from lamb skin and also showed the garment tag of the clothes to him that says "Lamb Skin". "Okay, I will take care of the jacket," workerman promised. A week later, I stopped by to pick my clothes up. After the worker handed all the clothes to me and I took a look at my lamb skin jacket, I couldn't believe my eyes -- there was a even bigger black stain than before. I asked the worker what was going on with my jacket, how come the stain wasn't removed, but instead got bigger. The worker told me that they tried their best and still could not remove the stain, because it was lamb skin. Yea, right buddy - I took the jacket to another dry cleaner and they managed to get it out with no problem. I shouldn't have relied on them when the worker could not realize the damn jacket was made of lamb skin. I then took another look at another piece of clothing I dropped off, a blazer. The color of the pattern inside of the blazer was faded! I asked the worker what was frigging wrong with this blazer? "Oh, because of the material of the blazer, the color easily came off," the worker volunteered. Excuse me? Did I hear something wrong? Can you be any less professional? I've had my dry cleaning done her a few times and have never experienced a problem. My review, however, is on their alterations department. I had a horrible experience with a dress I purchased recently in the wrong size and needed altered to a smaller size ASAP for a special event this Saturday. I brought it in on Monday and explained to the sweet woman that I needed it altered around the waist as it was too loose and brought up around the shoulders and arms. She quickly reassured me that it could be done and only charged me $30! Mind you, I had taken the dress to a separate shop on Irving and 11th? and they were charging me twice that for a lot less work (they were only going to take in the waist). She was a total confidence booster too. When I tried the dress on she kept complimenting my figure..who doesn't love that right? She was very sweet and a total life saver! 5 Stars! read more

I paid $12 for two jackets, which isn't bad. They were ready in three days, but It took me around 3 weeks to go back and get my stuff and I lost my ticket. I was scared that they'd be mad at me, but the gentleman who owns the shop was very patient and ran the clothes machine around 3 times until I found my stuff. Very cool. I've always wondered how it would be to hop on and ride one of those things. I tried to have them dry-clean my leather jacket but it would have been $50 =O, which I guess is the norm when it comes to cleaning leather. So I took it home and did it myself. I've been coming here for four years and they have yet to let me down. $10 for a hem, $13 for original. Got a couple of bridesmaid dresses shortened here, it cost about $25. Sometimes they suggest a week for hems, but usually its done sooner. As for dry cleaning, my sister and I have been bringing our dry cleaning here for the full four years. Sundown Cleaners helped me out for 3 weeks while working a big event in the city. I brought them mounds and mounds of laundry 2-3 times a week for 3 weeks. Not only did they get everything done on the same day, there was never any mix-up in multiple people's laundry bags, nor any confusion over individuals' charges. I also brought in a few pieces of personal dry-cleaning, including an expensive leather jacket that I hadn't had cleaned before, and it turned out beautifully. Also, even though it's a busy part of town, I never had problems parking a very large vehicle. They very kindly wheeled the finished laundry out to my vehicle and even helped me load it. As noted in another review, be advised that they are cash only. They are super nice, super efficient, and I highly recommend them to anyone in the area. read more
