The only bad taste left in my mouth was when entering - I asked the iD checker - being from out of town what other clubs were recommended and where people go. This club is a blast. Great music, strong drinks, a nice big dance floor, and a really good mix of clientele. The bar is separated into some very cool areas to hang out. On a different note, we were VERY impressed with security. There was a girl on the dance floor who was very drunk and started yelling at one of my friends because his arm brushed against her while we are all dancing on the packed dance floor. We tried to explain that it's hard to not brush against people when it's that crowded and then she pushed him as hard as she could. Security was amazing and quickly ushered her out, apologizing profusely for the situation. This might seem like a strange thing to post about, but gay bars are a safe space, and when the staff puts that above making money, it means a lot. We will definitely be back to Rain when we visit Austin again. read more

I have never been treated more poorly in an establishment. Basically if you're a woman - don't go here. First of all the club was practically empty on a Wednesday night. They followed my girlfriend and i around LIKE HAWKS, even into the bathroom. Which was a regular stalled bathroom, it was just totally uncalled for. Then there was a suuuuuper sketchy guy hanging around by our drinks so we had to throw them out and order NEW drinks. We were dancing having a great time when my girlfriend hurt herself, so to help her out we stepped into the side room which was apparently closed off (no signage to tell us it was closed off) and within 3 seconds there were about 5 people barging in and telling us we had to leave!!!! Screaming, escorting us out. Because why? We stepped into a closed off area (which wasn't clearly marked) that it was closed off??? They could have just told us that area was off limits and to not go in there. We weren't doing anything wrong. It was just absolutely soooo rude. We had brought our male friend here to have a great night and basically because he was with two women we were completely discriminated against. I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

We were visiting and went to this place to have some fun karaoke. The staff was very nice EXCEPT the guy behind the DJ booth. He must have some weird ego complex. He asked us if there was another song we can sing and I said it's the only one my friend knew so he asked the other gentleman if he would duet it with us. Been three times and each time was uncomfortable. The unpleasant smell, as mentioned by other reviews on here is the first thing you notice. I wanted to find people my age to hangout with and talk to, but this was the wrong place for that. Every time i've gone the majority of the crowd was 45+. All of the old men (much older than my parents) kept creepishly trying to get in my pants. Aside from that, I find it strange that a place as well known as this one has such limited seating compared to the other bars. I'm new to the bar scene so this may be normal, but I felt extremely uncomfortable when the only guy my age there was walking to random tables and making out with 60 year old men and dancing on their laps around everyone eating. Loved the drag show with parts from "Drop Dead Gorgeous" that were going on right when I walked in the door. Too bad none of my colleagues I was with knew the film! The other shows were amazing too! And no cover charge, so that was dope. The bartender was nice enough. He made us a very strong drink and was around whenever we needed refills. The folks inside the bar mostly were just having a good old time on their own. But I was getting the stink eye from a few gals who were there. Not sure what I did wrong. Came here with some friends and had the best time! The music is great and the crowd had so much energy. The atmosphere in general is extremely fun. We danced all night and it was great that the club had an outdoor and indoor area. My only complaint is about the staff. They take your drinks if you put them down even for a second to take a picture or dance. They also go through the club 20 minutes before they close and collect everyone's drinks, but allow them to stay for the remaining time. They told us to either chug or give them our drinks very abruptly. I've never seen anything like it and I've been to bars and clubs all over the world. They weren't very friendly in general. The vibe and the music makes up for it though. I would still come back here, but limit my interaction with the staff and make sure you don't get a drink remotely towards closing time. read more

The woman who was the bouncer March 25th, 2023 was convinced that half of our IDs were fake and wouldn't let us in. My friends and I are 29, 28, 24, and 23. Two of them literally have children. I thought it was a one off, returned tonight...happened again. Girl next to me also screamed her phone was gone as well. Furthermore, the bouncers said I was stupid for calling them out, same bouncer helped me in December when it originally happened to get me home without a phone. I overheard her warning a friend later tonight to not go in the bar because of theft. The owner refused to send me video from inside the bar where people walk in (there's a camera above). When this happened in December my phone showed up in Louisiana 12 hours later. THERE IS A PROFESSIONAL ring of theft... this bar knows it... they condone it. We came back to watch a show there, but the blonde door man checking IDs wouldn't let me back in because I apparently swayed in a walk down the street while I was hugging my friend and walking. I am 28 know my limit and barely drank, and he accused me of being too drunk and said to my friend he could come back in but alienated me/tried to alienate me from my friend. He wouldnt even let me go in to close my tab that was still open. There was no line and I was initially very kind to the doorman, but he was blatently nasty to me. I was standing stright, could completely walk in a straight line and tried rationalizing with him but he just wouldn't budge. I did feel discriminated against.
