I had them come in to install gutters and rain barrels. Gutter installation went fine, though there was a long waiting period. I guess that's to be expected during El Nino. However, they didn't install the rain barrels as promised. I called them and arranged for them to come out again and adjust the downspouts so the rain barrels could be installed. This is where the problems began. 1) I have a sloping driveway. The rain barrels are chained so the overflow from one flows into the next. They installed the rain barrels so they chained *uphill*. So the first one to fill was the one at the bottom of the drive way. The water then obviously doesn't flow uphill, so the other barrels never fill. Alright - swap the connectors around, move the other barrels down the drive way. 2) The rain barrels have a faucet mounted on the bottom, to dispense collected water. Some of these were not screwed in properly, so the water leaks out. To tighten them, I have to open up the barrel. That's when I find that the screws holding the barrel lids on have been over-tightened. Some of them have been tightened to the point where the heads have embedded themselves in the plasted, and one of the screws has been completely stripped, so I can't unscrew it at all. So I can't get into the barrel to tighten the faucet. 3) Email the office. The first callback I get, they promise to send someone out to take a look. They say they'll call me back in a day or two to set up a time. The second call I get is from the office manager. She's kinda brusque, and claims that there's "no way" they could have damaged our rain barrels because they use an impact driver to screw on the tops. She blames my rain barrels and, in short, basically makes it clear that she's not going to send someone out to help me resolve the problem. So the initial gutter installation was nice and well-done, but everything after that has just not gone particularly well. The rude office manager was kinda the last straw. I'll find a way to fix the damaged rain barrels myself, but two stars for these guys. read more

Gutter Pros The following is based on my experience with Gutter Pros when they removed and replaced the gutters on a building where I own a condo in Santa Monica. Positives: Ron is a very good sales person. They did remove and replace the gutters. Negatives: Ron is a very good sales person A twelve foot section of gutter was not replaced until I pointed out they missed it. This same 12" pc of gutter was full if nails, screws, shingle pieces, metal pieces... It was never cleaned out even though they forgot to replace it. Crew does not understand concept of cleaning. When they do clean, they use a leaf blower. They continued to use a leaf blower, even after I requested they not do so more than once, as well as Leaf Blowers are illegal in the City of Santa Monica. The corners of the gutters were not properly squared, Gutter Pros had to return the rework the corners. After the gutters were installed, we had a heavy rain within the a few days, On one corner of the building the water was sheeting over the edge of the gutter. The gutters were clearly not working properly. Gutter Pros said they reworked the gutter; we have not had another heavy rain, so still do not know if it will work, but we have a warranty. Nails, Shingle pieces, screws were all left scattered through the yard, garden beds, trees and road. On the first day of demolition, they left a 10 ft board behind on the roof over the laundry room. . In Closing: From my experience of dealing with Gutter Pros, I would recommend getting very detailed information regarding all aspects of clean up in the contract. I have the photographs to prove this is a good idea. On the other hand, if you have no problem with filth, this could be a perfect match. After recently working with Pacific West Construction Services out of the South Bay, I realized their are construction companies much worse than Gutter Pros. read more

He then called the office for an install date which was a week later and that was reasonable. Install crew showed up on time, we're professional, courteous and got the work done in a few hours. Oz, came to our home and did a very comprehensive evaluation of our gutter situation. We have had a leak for years, and no one has been able to figure out the cause. Oz went up on the roof and took photos of the area near the leak and showed me exactly what could be the problem. He also promised to fix another little issue with my chimney (and didn't charge me). His guys came exactly at the promised day and time and did a great job, in what seemed like a very short time. They replaced all my old gutters and added a new piece, where there had been no gutter at all. They worked in a very tidy fashion, cleaning up as they went along, and left my home in perfect condition. We recently bought a home in Glassell Park. After the first rain we realized our gutters were shot and we needed new ones. I got a few estimates. Not only did Oz of Raingutter Pros quote me a competitive price, but took the time to educate me about different materials and options. After hiring him he went out of his way to visit my home several times before the job to help my wife and I (neither of us are very decisive) choose the correct colors to match our house which is not a traditional, basic color. He and his associates showed up at the appropriate time and without any disruption to our normal morning routine got to work. When I returned home in the evening I found the work finished and the area around my home cleaned, as if nobody had ever been there tearing rusted metal off my roof. OZ came out last Saturday to give us an estimate to clean our rain gutters. I rarely right reviews on Yelp, but I felt the need to after the great service we received from Rain Gutter Pros. My husband and I purchased a new home in October that did not have rain gutters. Knowing that rain season was coming we felt the need to add gutters to the new house. We found Rain Gutter Pros and when we spoke to them over the phone they told us how busy there were but that they would come to our house within the week to give us a quote. They gave us a quote that we felt was very fair compared to others we have known that got gutters in recent months. With how busy they are due to demand we understood that it would take a while for an appointment. That was totally fine to us and quickly made the appointment. The three man crew came to the house and did a fantastic job adding the gutters to the house. We threw a little wrinkle into the appointment as we asked them when they go to the house if they could also add gutters to the detached garage. They had plenty of material and were able to add the gutters for the garage the same day. They are very professional and cleaned up after all the work they did. Since the gutters were installed there has been rain and they have worked perfectly moving the water from the house so it does not pool by the walls. What irritated me so much about this experience is that when I called the morning of my appointment, the lady made no mention that the appointment had been cancelled because I didn't call soon enough. Instead, she said "great, thanks for calling back to confirm!" I wasn't told it was cancelled until I sat at home for the whole time window and had to call back a second time to see where they were. I would have understood, and would have waited around for them to come later, if they wouldn't have wasted my time and then blamed it on me. Why would you tell someone they were confirmed if they weren't? Additionally, if you have such a rigid confirmation policy, maybe you should tell your customers that up front when they schedule the appointment. I scheduled this less than a week earlier; had I known I had to confirm the day before I would have tried to be available. I was traveling for work and didn't even get the message until that morning.
