Stopped in Cordele and wanted to grab a beer and some food near the Interstate. Wandered to downtown Cordele, which was a bit of a letdown compared to other Georgia small towns. RailHouse was close to the tracks with plenty of parking and a lot of empty stores on the street. The inside was nice but the view to the outside was made possible only through dirty windows. A nice beer selection and I had the RailHoiuse, which was very good. In addition, tried the Fried Green Tomatoes which were hot and full of flavor with a great breading. Wings came out lukewarm, as if they were precooked and waiting but sauce was good (Buffalo),, and also closed o it the meal with a great Fried Chicken Salad. Everything. From the staff to the quality of food. Drinks never got refilled, food took 90 minutes, no condiments or napkins at the table. Total dumpster fire. It was bad and overrated. Interesting place, has potential especially with craft beers. Service was spotty, although it was lunch time on a Wednesday, translated not very busy. Wife ordered grilled chicken salad, she was pleased. I ordered Hamburger- ordered medium- it was more like medium-well. , side was tortillas chips with queso . Queso was in very small plastic cup that had film on top. Chips were mediocre. We have been wanting to try since we saw billboard on interstate. Man. I was really hoping that the food would be as good as the beer, even if not really cold the Zombie beer was great. Food was absolutely horrible and it's hard for me to get to that point. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and should have listened to my waitresses face. But man, how bad can they be... wow, This bad. I asked her for recommendations on dinner and she told me that the Diablo Burger was great. To be fair the flavor was amazing. But I tried multiple times to chew and swallow the burger and it was just awful. They cooked every bit of juice and hope out of it. We stopped in to Railhouse Tavern today passing through Cordele, GA. The food was very good. I had the Ultimate Cheese burger that came with cheddar, Swiss and beer cheese with a side of homemade onion rings. My husband got wings in Cajun seasoning and I must say these were some of the best wings I've had. It seems they may have been fried in an air fryer oven. The skin was super crispy and flavorful. A hidden gem in a very quiet and somewhat abandoned "downtown " in this little Georgia enclave serving sandwiches salads and lots of microbrews. To be honest, after driving by so many boarded up and closed storefronts we almost didn't go inside, but we were glad we did as the service was friendly, the atmosphere in the old building inviting and food was pretty good too. My husband and I recently visited RailHouse Tavern and chose to sit at the bar, where surprisingly, guests are assigned a dedicated server instead of a dedicated bartender. It was a slow night, with only a few other guests present. Our server seemed a bit uncertain at times, leading us to wonder if she might have been new. We began by ordering drinks. Our server had to consult with her colleagues to answer our questions--understandable. We also ordered the loaded nachos, which were okay--not great, but okay. They were particularly heavy on the BBQ sauce. After finishing the nachos, our server asked if we were ready for the check. We said no and ordered wings--she ran to get her notepad--, and we asked for them extra crispy. Another server reminded her to ask if we preferred blue cheese or ranch. The wings arrived hot and flavorful, though not as crispy as we'd requested and a bit too saucy for our taste. Additionally, no celery came with the blue cheese. When I asked about it, our server went to check but didn't return for a long while. When she did, she asked if we were ready for our check. I asked if she learned about the celery and she said, "Oh, we don't have any." She left. We waited a good ten more minutes, and, after not being able to get her attention, asked another server to let her know we'd like to order a second round of drinks. She came over, and we ordered two drinks and two waters. Another server brought the drinks, but the waters were missing. Our server checked in later, asking if we were ready for the check. I said, "Sure, can we have waters too please?" She said sorry, and then brought one water, with no check. We were confused. She returned and asked again if we wanted the check, and we said yes, please. When she brought the check, she eagerly stood over our area waiting for us to give it back. It was the first time I saw her eager, but that's not when one should be hovering....sigh. Anyway, while the food was decent, the service left much to be desired. We walked in just after 1:15 on a Monday and were told to sit anywhere we wanted. It wasn't super busy so we had a good selection of tables. Note: They also have some comfy seating (sofa and chairs). Our server came right over and took our drink order. We all ordered tea. It was fresh brewed. The decor was a mix of rustic and eclectic. My husband and I split the Philly Cheesesteak and onion rings. Our granddaughter ordered the Brunch burger minus the syrup. She also asked for a well done egg, which they obliged. This place has unfortunately gone down hill. The quality of the food has declined. The building itself needs some maintenance inside the restaurant. Tables and menus are sticky. Staff appearance and attitude doesn't seem to be important. The TV's have weird music playing. One positive is the bbq nachos. The reviews for this place are definitely misleading. Walked into the restaurant with a 4 top. We were seated and given a server. She took our drink order with no issue. When she brought our drinks we put in our order. One app and four entrees. After sitting for 45 minutes waiting on our fried pickle app, we noticed no food was coming out of the kitchen. We ended up sitting for a legitimate two hours; we arrived at 7:45. At 9:45 we asked our server how much longer on our meals and she informed us it would be another 20-30 minutes, so we decided to leave. Our server did her best but unfortunately the kitchen just couldn't get food out. When I tell you NO ONE in the entire dining room we getting their food, that's no exaggeration. There was clearly no manager on duty at all, much less a staff member going to the tables to so much as apologize. There is also only one unisex bathroom and it was dirty and smelled like urine. Great pit stop on our way north. The downtown is old and mostly vacant. Once we entered the tavern there was plenty of life. Smiles from the patrons and staff. There was a baseball game on and they had a ton of beer selections. We were 5 people and they had a few good options for everyone. I got the Cheesesteak- tender meat and plenty of flavor. The hardwood floors were refinished, and the bar had an inviting atmosphere. The staff greeted us with warmth and professionalism, which added to the overall experience. It was so good, We ordered the fried pickle burger, which my son said was amazing my husband and I had a salad one with fried chicken and the other with grilled chicken, it was excellent. We had a party of six. We were seated as soon as we walked in around 5:30 on Friday evening. The front of the house was packed so they sat us in the back bar area. Not my favorite place but the company was good. It was the first time for all of us. We ordered pretzel bites and cheese curds for our apps. They came out quickly and were good as far as apps go. For my meal I ordered the maple bacon chicken sandwich with tater tots, loved it!!! My husband got the ribeye with homemade pigskins. The steak was so tender and cooked perfectly. Our friends got the steak as well with asparagus. He liked it. Another got a spring salad with pecans and cranberries, also good. And two got burgers! All was delicious. What an interesting place, located in downtown Cordele which is sometimes being rejuvenated and sometimes in decline. The atmosphere of this place matches! The historic floors, walls, and ceilings are fantastic while some of the new additions are cheesy (like the new moldings added to the bar but never matched in color). The patty melt I ordered was fantastic. The meat was high quality, the sourdough bread fresh, and the pork rinds are cooked to order. I visited after the lunch hour but the service was great. They were attentive and the food was delivered quickly after ordering, but I think I was the only active order at the time! I will be back next time I'm in town. The RailHouse is a charming restaurant located is a historic building. Staff is friendly and competent. Food is very tasty. Unfortunately, the food is served on metal trays which absorbed the heat from our food so that when it reached us, it was cold. Me and my grandparents went here (around 1:15 on a Monday) for lunch. To start off, the RailHouse Tavern had an amazing interior and amazing customer service. My grandparents shared the Philly Cheese Steak, and I got the Brunch Burger. We also all got tea. Brittany checked on us frequently and made us feel welcome. The Brunch Burger was delicious and my grandparents are very pleased with the steak. The tea was freshly brewed and very refreshing. Overall, this was an amazing experience. I had a tasty Shirmp Po'Boy, which was a bit difficult to eat as its hoagie roll had been severely damaged when being toasted. The side of tots were served hot and crispy.
