Local magic Carter's is pretty amazing. On my first visit I was so lost since there was no visible menu. I've gotten the chicken sandwich and fries on multiple stops now. Prices are super reasonable and taste is so much better than the chain spots around town. Staff is friendly and service is quick. They also have bakery which was yummy too. Totally an off the beaten path place but definitely worth the extra few miles from the highway. read more

Stopped by Carter's Fried Chicken and the food was excellent. I ordered the bone-in chicken breast sandwich and a side of gizzards, and both were cooked perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. This is a small-town spot, but the food definitely delivers. If you're traveling on I-75, they're not far off the interstate and well worth the stop. Looking for something different as we headed north and Yelp had good reviews for Carters. As we drove up it was already busy which was a good sign. Place is definitely in assuming but everyone was so friendly. You can tell this is a local favorite. So I ordered the large burger all they way. It was good for what it was. Not gourmet but still tasty. Deb got the fried shrimp box. Then breading was delicious. Fries could have been crispier but ok. Overall solid spot. Will try other things next time. read more

I mentioned wanting to try this place towards the end of last year as it was recommended by a coworker. My sister surprises me today with a wing box. The sweet potato patties are prepared well. The chicken has a crispy batter and a really good seasoning. The rolls??....Oh my! I have a weakness for these so I'm glad she got me two. They are soft and fresh. Carter's has been in business for a very long time now in the Cordele, Georgia area. They have the best donuts, BBQ, chicken gizzards, livers and the sweet tea is really good. Keep in the mind during the evening time rush on the weekends they do get busy at the drive thru and at the ordering counter/window. I like the BBQ sammich its really good and same with the sweet tea. The customer service is top knotch and none of our past orders has been a issue or a problem. And one of them says I like you now we got to feed your liquor. Then they say you got to have a Carter burger . I said ok . Then they said u got to get a triple cheeseburger they order a lot of sandwiches and alot of Fry's. Sooooooooooooooo twenty minutes later they come back with three big brown bags. What in the hell. The food was very bland and over cooked. It was one of the worse times I have eaten at Carters.

Chicken, Fried Okra & coleslaw were all delicious. Service was quick & staff was friendly.

The fried chicken was fantastic. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant was easy to find. The staff was courteous and had our order up in two shakes of a lamb's tail. Our order made for a swell picnic on the shores of Lake Blackshear. When we go back to Blackshear Carter's will be a mandatory stop! read more

This is a better late than never review.. When I arrived at this Carter's I was after one thing, and one thing only...Their gizzards. I decided to go through the drive thru, after not being able to find a place to park. For the portion of gizzards I received, I felt it wasn't expensive at all. The gizzards were great, they were very tender. I felt they could've used a bit more batter on them, not that they really needed it..but the pieces of fried goodness with the Tabasco sauce. The fried chicken here is to die for! Decent pricing and service is okay. You have the option to walk up to a window to order or use drive thru. The chicken is always hot and fresh. The seasoning is like no other. The cost for an 8 piece chicken, 1 donut, and a regular drink was about $15. If you ever want chicken, this is the place to go. Worst drive thru experience EVER!!! Waited over 30 minutes. I would have left but I had already paid. My order was given to someone else without even asking if this was their order. When I questioned what happened I was told another customer "claimed" the order. This was not true. The server gave them the order without even checking. 48 minutes to get our meal...25 people after us got their meals before us...stay away from here!!!! Their excuse was they mixed up the boxes. When they discovered the mess up there was still at least 10 more people to order after the mistake and get food before us. Then the said the increased delay was they had to change the oil in one of the fryers which slowed it down more. They gave us two meals after about 25 minutes and then we waited 20 more minutes for an order of chicken fingers and an order of popcorn chicken. We just stopped in from Chicago traveling south and just enjoyed some of the best fried chicken. It was cooked just right, tender, moist, just the right amount of delicious breading.
