We were driving to Florida on I-75 and were looking for that perfect, unique, hole-in-the-wall serving local cuisine for lunch kind of place. Found it. Keith-a-cue, is less than a mile off the highway and so worth the time. Got the perfectly smoked pork butt sandwich, my friends got the pork butt plate and another got the shredded pork plate. Both got okra - get the okra. Their fried okra is about as good as it gets. And the pulled pork butt is so perfect, don't mess around, get it. The place really is a hole-in-the-wall - literally - you order at a window in an outside wall. They hand you your drinks and then bring your food to you in the adjacent, spotlessly clean and comfortable dining room. This was exactly the place we hoped it would be when we pulled off the highway. If you are headed to Florida or returning from there and drive through South Georgia on I-75 plan a stop in historic Ashburn. You will thank me. It was raining, cold, and you had to stand in a puddle of water to order - they couldn't be bothered to open the inside window. Tells you a lot about their attitude toward their customers. On our way home to Florida we saw Keith's billboard on 75 and had a good laugh and figured let's try it. We did and we sure are glad we did! Delicious! Stopped at Keith-A-Que on our way through town looking for pulled pork. We ordered two pulled pork sandwiches, Mac and cheese, coleslaw, a two piece snack with onion rings and a sweet tea. It was about 30$ which is a good price for that much food. I'll start with the pros. The coleslaw is probably some of the best coleslaw I've ever had in my life. It's like savory in the best way possible. The meat for the pork butt sandwich was juicy and flavorful and the fried chicken was seasoned well and crunchy. You could definitely tell it was fresh. The sweet tea is fantastic. We almost went back for a second. Now onto the cons, the Mac and cheese was overly cheesed and the noodles were over cooked. I wouldn't order the Mac and cheese again. The onion rings tasted as if they had been fried and then sat for a while and dipped back in the oil to heat up, also not my favorite. Last for me was the bun, the bun almost ruined the sandwich for me. The bun tasted like it had sat out and not because it was hard it just had a strange flavor. read more

I ordered brisket and ribs and it was under $9!!! That was music to my ears. After a short wait in the heat, my order was ready and I headed to my car to sit in the air conditioning. When I opened the box I was excited to see tender juicy brisket and soft moist ribs. The meats were tasty and their BBQ sauce complimented the meats really well. So thankful that this place fit perfectly into our schedule to stop for lunch. Each person in our family of four had different items and everyone gives this place two thumbs up. My husband absolutely loved his chicken tenders and he's pretty hard to please...the chicken itself had really great flavor. I had the brisket platter with beans and slaw, the coleslaw was the best I've ever tasted. The baked beans were really, really good too. Both had a hint of sweetness, just that 'something' that made them stand out. And according to the kids, the hotdogs and the BLT are awesome, crinkle cut fries are great too. We have been passing the sign on the interstate for years. We always made note of it, because my husbands's name is Keith. This trip on the way to Tennessee we said on the way back to Florida we would stop by for a late lunch. We arrived around 4:30 pm. My husband wanted a brisket sandwich but they didn't have any beef, due to beef shortage because of COVID. My son wanted fried chicken but they didn't have any ready and it would take too long. The pulled pork sandwiches were great. Soft bun and a good portion of pork. The coleslaw was like KFC but with relish and so much better. The fries were good, but nothing special. They accidentally gave us baked beans and they were the best baked beans we have ever had. The green beans were fresh and seasoned really well. The Mac and cheese was so creamy. The hot sides were very hot (temperature not spicy). My teenager had the rib platter, no comment from him, he did eat it all. We ate in our car because we had our dogs with us. We went back and ordered a bigger size of the coleslaw, Mac and cheese and baked beans. We will definitely be back. read more

This local que joint does not disappoint. Guy Fieri should find this place, but then the lines will be off the hook. My husband and I each ordered a combo plate. We had ribs, chicken, Boston butt, and brisket. Sides were green beans, cole slaw, baked beans, and French fries. In particular, I loved the cole slaw. It is chopped and in a sweet mayonnaise dressing. There is a choice of two house-made bbq sauces: tomato base is slightly spicy and mustard base is tangy. We purchased a bottle of the mustard sauce to take home. Keith is a friendly owner/host. He doesn't take himself too seriously, but he takes his q quite seriously. They seemed mixed, more along the positive side though, so we exited off the interstate and drove the mile or so to Keith-A-Que. This place is located in a small town. The restaurant has a drive thru, a walk up ordering window outside, along with an inside dining area, with a walk up ordering window inside. We decided to order inside and eat there. The menu is located next to the ordering window. We entered the restaurant and looked at the menu. The woman who was working the window wasn't very friendly at all, almost snappy. I thought maybe she was just having a bad day, but later on, she greeted 'locals' in a much more friendly manner. Oh well. I ordered the brisket sandwich with fried okra. We also go the pulled pork sandwich with fries. I ordered a water that tasted like it was from a garden hose, it had a really funky flavor. It didn't take too long for the woman at the counter to yell our food was ready. The portions were nice for the price. The brisket was full of chewy fat that I need to dissect from it. They have two sauces on the table. One that is hot and one that is mustard based. I liked the flavor of the mustard one over the hot one, and I'm a fan of hot stuff. The fried okra is the kind that you buy frozen at the store, same for the fries. Both were disappointing. The brisket was more tender than the pulled pork. Both needed some sauce on them. Overall I wasn't impressed with anything. Next time, I will stop about an hour north of this place in Perry, Georgia if we want bbq. There is an awesome placed there called GrillMasters with friendly people and great food. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. I've worked in Ashburn for 3 years and I always pass it on my way to work and I love BBQ, so it was going to happen at some point. Tonight, we picked some up and brought it up to work. I ordered a rack of ribs, a combo BBQ platter that had marinated chicken, Boston butt, and some beer-battered onion rings. I also ordered a pint of their Brunswick stew and asked for BBQ sauce on the side. I honestly wasn't disappointed. The ribs had a dry rub all over them and the inside was moist and well cooked. The sauce was a brown sugar, tomato and mustard-base sauce of some type. It had some heat to it so I imagine there was a good bit of cayenne or something in it. It matched well with everything. The Brunswick stew was some of the best. It's not the best, but it was very good. Rescue's (LITERALLY right behind them around the corner) has made better stew in my opinion, but they are not consistent. I tried a piece or two of the Boston butt and it was tasty and also went well with the sauce I've definitely had better onion rings, but the onion rings are edible. Some of them were a tad overcooked. I think it needs a fluffier batter of some type. It just tastes very heavy and not light and fluffy as I think it should. Still, delicious nonetheless. Overall, this is a cool little drive-in. Give it a shot and you will likely not be disappointed! Just a little observation: I don't understand why BBQ in this area gives you a piece of plain bread. Put some butter on a piece of bread and toast it with some garlic salt or something. read more

Stopped in here while driving from Atlanta to Tampa for the weekend. I wanted to try some wings but they kind of just looked like fried chicken so I went with the ribs combo. I got it with the mac and cheese and brunswick stew. The ribs were decent, they had a good smoke to them. The mac and cheese was ok but I really didn't think they stew was very good.
