When we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us immediately. The restaurant itself is quaint and cozy with an ambiance that feels casual yet slightly upscale, perfect for a relaxed date night or when you want to feel a little fancy without having to iron your clothes first. One thing I appreciated right away was the menu. It wasn't overwhelming but still offered a nice variety of Italian classics. You'll find fresh pasta dishes, wood-fired pizzas, and entrées like chicken and eggplant Parmesan, along with several traditional Italian desserts. There was a decent amount of options. Our waiter was professional, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening. To start, both my husband and I ordered the Hugo Spritz. They were light, refreshing, and very well made, basically the kind of drink that makes you want to sit back, sip slowly, and pretend you're on a patio somewhere in Italy instead of Middle Georgia. As a pescatarian, I originally ordered the Trota al Forno, a pan-seared seasonal fish entrée. Sadly, our waiter had to come back with the disappointing news that they were out. My pescatarian heart sank just a little... but hunger waits for no one. So I pivoted and ordered a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp instead. My husband ordered a pizza, half pepperoni and half cheese. The pizza here is very thin and wood-fired. We both enjoyed the pizza, it had just the right balance of sauce and crust, and everything was seasoned very well. It comes with eight slices, but because they're so thin, they disappear quickly. My Caesar salad was fresh and topped with nicely grilled shrimp. The house made dressing had great flavor, though it was a bit more generous than my personal preference. If I were to get a salad again I would ask for the dressing on the side. They also offer weeknight specials Tuesday through Thursday, so it's worth checking their website for the details before heading out. Overall, we had a really nice experience. The customer service was outstanding. Was it the best pizza around? No, but it was definitely tasty and satisfying. The Caesar salad was good, and the atmosphere made for a pleasant evening. We'll definitely be back... and hopefully next time the fish entrée and I will finally meet.

Driving North from Florida, we wanted dinner and preferred not fast food, but good food served efficiently. Well we hit that out of the park by ending up at The Oil Lamp. My friend had the chicken & mashed potatoes (these are the real deal!!). I had the beef tips on gravy over mashed potatoes. We shared sides of braised cabbage that had a fair amount of garlic - I will be thinking about it, yes thinking about cabbage - first time for everything. We also shared creamed corn and this is NOT from a can. The corn was so sweet and there was a crunch to it, which only fresh corn can give. Everything looked delicious. I eyed those desserts, but I'd finished my plate and just no more room. I live like 4 hours away, but I'm hoping to time my return trip to return to this gem. This isn't fancy, it's good food that has been cooked by chefs that know how to cook old school. Last note - generous portions.

Upon entry, you go to the right to get in line and order. There is a sign with daily specials (you can also check out their Facebook page!). Up first are the trays and silverware and then the salad bar. After that are some entrees and sides they dish out for you. We ordered the rib-eye meal which comes with a side and bread but you can add whatever you want! I think it was $29, which at first seemed a little expensive, but my brother and friends assured me was definitely worth it! We also grabbed a drink and some dessert. All of the employees were very kind and welcoming. We went right at 5 on a Thursday evening so there was plenty of seating. The tables were big and there was room for all 10 of us (that's why we went early!) The food...was amazing! The steak was PERFECT. I asked for it medium and it was medium. So tender and flavorful! My brother wasn't lying when he said it was worth it. I also had the loaded mashed potatoes - excellent, biscuit-yummy, and the chocolate peanut butter pie- OH MY! I will definitely be returning to this establishment. We really enjoyed it.

It is very upscale! Our server was nice but not intrusive. We received refills on time and requests were honored very promptly. My daughter ordered a mixed drink and it was good, she also ordered the Chicken Avery and she really enjoyed it along with the garlic green beans. The not so good (in my opinion): I ordered shrimp and my husband ordered the ribeye with accompanying mac n cheese and baked potato. The Mac N Cheese was so soupy you needed a spoon to eat it. Soupy in a watery way not a cheesy way. Baked potatoes were just alright. The skin was great with salt & oil. The inside was either overcooked or not fresh. Several of us ordered the potato and we all felt the same. The $50 ribeye was bland and chewy. My shrimp were comparable to Captain D's . I hate to say that but when I tasted of them that's all I could think of. I think it had more to do with the breading than the actual taste of the shrimp themselves. It was my daughter's birthday and she ordered the crème brûlée. She enjoyed it. The top was nice and crunchy but not warm. The entire thing was cold which was odd. All of the food we received wasn't hot it was warm at best. This is probably a one and done for me just bc the price doesn't reflect the quality of the food. We don't mind paying for something really great but when you feel let down after eating it's tough to go back.
