Raesz Custom Floors installed about 2,000sf of engineered white oak flooring for us over 2 years ago. The large crew was on time and worked really hard each day and they didn't mind educating me about the process as I tend to ask a lotta questions. The prep work and installation went very well and we loved the look of the new floor. We have 80, 70, 50 and 20lb dogs and after more than 2 years of wrestling and chasing each other, I simply see no scratches. We constantly get compliments from friends and other contractors. Stay away from Raesz flooring, the owner Gary Raesz is very rude and unprofessional, he will tell you he know's everybody and everything, I don't think so. In my 45 years of business, I have ran across many people like him and I prefer NOT to do business with this type of individual. The showroom floor is a mess, tile, carpeting and samples are all over the floor, making it very difficult to navigate the showroom without tripping or falling, God forbid a disabled or wheel-chair bound person enters the store, they would never be able navigate the showroom. OSHA needs to be informed of these hazards, as well as State Agencies. read more

Had our home remodeled in the summer of 2018. these guys did all the flooring and tile work in both bathrooms. The shower seat in the master bath tile has cracked and warped. I removed the tile today to discover they had used sheet rock, mortared to the plywood seat, and then the tile was adhered to the sheetrock. The tile cracked, sheet rock rotted and now have a big mess. I am going to re-do myself using cement board, thinset and a sheet of quartz rather than tile. Really a bad job and only lasted 5 years. read more

I visited this store and left because the show room was a mess, with samples scattered all over the floor right in front of the entrance, making it nearly impossible to walk inside. I shouldn't have to play hop scotch to navigate your store. The owner was incredibly rude and clearly does not know what is going on in his own business. The showroom is very luxurious, and perhaps this was once a respectable business, but what I saw makes me questions how they could sustain a business at all. I stopped by the showroom on 290. I walked in and no one greeted me. There was a man in a back office speaking with a woman. Neither of them greeted me. I walked to the back of the showroom, and still no greeting. Here is a basic Pro-Tip in customer service and not losing $10,000 in business by just being lazy: "Hi, welcome to our store. Thanks for stopping by. I'm currently with a customer but I'll be right with you." I reluctantly continued to walk around with no assistance. I came across another employee in another office who was on the phone. Same exact thing. No greeting. He didn't even acknowledge me with a smile, much less a verbal greeting. If this is the type of service you get BEFORE they have your money...just imagine after they've got your money. read more

I worked with these guys when I first got started in the construction and interior design business in Austin. They are a one-stop-shop. You can buy materials through them at competitive prices or supply your own. I believe they have been in business since 1976 or close to it. I have since found installers that aren't associated with a "business" but for the normal homeowner, I don't recommend that. I would recommend Raesz Custom Flooring (the company name by which I know them) http://austincustomfloors.com/ They will warranty their work and are quick to do punch if a situation should arise. added professional advice: If you do not have experience with remodels or have not had floors, showers, or backsplashes installed, go with a reputable company and these are the guys to do it for you. The woman who answers the phone at this place is super nice. When I walked in the guy who greeted me, Philip, was also super nice. He directed me to exactly what I was looking for. Then he said he would show up Friday morning (3 days later) to measure and he would also bring the samples along so I could know for sure how they would match up with my tile. Well, Friday came and we had a city wide snow day. I still expected him to call, but he he didn't. The weather was fine by afternoon but I figured he must've gotten busy and he would call Saturday ... or Monday morning. Nothing. So I called Monday afternoon. He was super nice and apologetic. He forgot. He said he'd come right over. He did, but he didn't bring the samples. So he promised to bring the samples along with the quote by my house on his way home Monday evening. No samples. No quote. No phone call. Nothing. The man has all of my contact info. I gave it to him. So on Tuesday again and we had another citywide ice day so I feel like I should be patient, but he has my number and my email. I don't think he wants my business. Maybe the rooms I want to do are too small and don't seem worth it?? I would rather have him tell me flat out that he doesn't want my business than to jerk me around. Wednesday rolled around. Gorgeous weather. Roads are open and phone lines are working. Nothing. What a waste of time. I called these people based on a glowing review of both the company and Philip from a neighbor who recently used them. I haven't actually used them but I sure did try. I might have liked them if they would have actually showed up. Same experience as previous review. Talked with Phillip on the phone and said he would come out and give me an estimate. An hour past the time he was suppose to show up, I called and he said he forgot and would be right over. Came over finally and gave me an estimate. We scheduled the work to be done on Friday. I asked if he would call then and confirm and he said yes. Friday came, and no call. i called him and once again he said he forgot but would get they guys out there later that afternoon. Afternoon came and still no phone call or no show. No way would I try to do business with them after that. Still 3 days later, no phone call. Obviously they are too busy to care about any more work. Just a phone call from Phillip would have been professional. I had to track him down every time and still no word back from him. Horrible and non-professional. I scheduled another floor guy to come and the estimate was even lower than what Phillip quoted me. So I would never recommend them. Wasted an entire week of waiting with these guys. read more

Horrible customer service! After a prolonged battle over our floors being misrepresented and several employees including the owner admitting the floors were not as represented on the sample. Raesz advised us to file a claim with the manufacturer. When that was denied Raesz sued us for payment even though they admitted the floors were not representative of the sample we were sold. Buyer beware if anything goes wrong you will have no recourse! read more

I have been in there three times in the last two months. The first time I was just tire kicking and had my daughter with me, but no one made an attempt to greet me or see if I needed help. The second visit I was promplty greeted by Morgan (who was helpful and knowledgeable) who helped me narrow down some hardwood and tile selections. I told her I would be back with my husband that Thursday to finalize. When we returned (granted we did not have an official appointment), she was helping another customer in her office and did not see us (which was fine). BUT, we were there over thirty minutes looking around. Two other employees were present, saw us and never said a single word. We were so frustrated about not being offered help that we left and have decided to take our business elsewhere. What a bummer. I had an excellent experience here. A friend had used them and told me they'd been in business for a very long time. Randall Swift was extremely professional, while very down-to-earth and easy to work with. He came by my house the day after I stopped in the store to measure. He called the next day with a price. As soon as I made my decision, my carpet was at their warehouse and ready for installation within a few days. I had to ask them to hold on to the carpet for a week while I got things ready on my end. They came to install when they said they would - the installers were very professional as well. My carpet looks amazing - I feel like I have a new house! read more

I have had the most horrible experience with this company. I love supporting local business and my first impression was great. I worked with a sales guy named, Jay, who was the nicest man. Unfortunately, he sold me the wrong area rug. I was looking for a "stain master" type rug that would hold up to my 3 little boys and be easy to clean. Knowing this information, I thought I was getting something to that standard. Within 1 month the rug was showing wear in high traffic areas and had spots on it that wouldn't come out with very good rug cleaner (by the way, the rug is in our living room, a room our boys are hardly in). I then contacted the shop to see what could be done. I was ignored for weeks and could not seem to get ahold of the owner who is ultimately the decision maker with refunds/exchanges etc. I finally spoke to Gary after 4 weeks of trying. I cannot believe how this man speaks to customers. He was degrading, talked over me the entire time, and did not listen to anything I was saying. He basically called me a liar and told me I probably let my boys eat and spill whatever they wanted all over the rug- which is completely untrue! I will never do business with a man who treats an unhappy customer this way, especially over $300. Steer clear of this place. read more

These guys did our entire upstairs floor (1700 sq ft), replacing carpet. I was anxious about the whole thing, I really wanted it to be perfect. It is perfect. Our house is 30 years old and had some squeaks in places. I didn't realize that I even noticed them until they were gone. All edges / seems / transitions are perfect and it looks amazing. The floors look spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Randall Swift. I can tell he takes great pride in his work and he obviously has enormous experience. When we first went to Raesz Floors, we were working with an employee who had subsequently left and we went somewhere else for our master bath floor and shower tile. However, we were unable to get our backsplash tile anywhere except Raesz Floors. We went back and began working with Lacey to help us get the back splash tile ordered. When it arrived, the tiles had a substantial variation compared to the sample we looked at in the store. We wanted to make a return and substitute an alternative color in the same tile family. Lacey promptly began working with her tile representative and secured a return and prompt delivery of the substituted tile! Lacey was highly communicative throughout this process--had we not already made a decision to go elsewhere, I would have worked with Lacey to do the overall tile work in our master bath!! Ours was kind of a complicated mess. Mix of a bad wood floor on the lower level and nasty carpet on the upper level. Wanted wood throughout. Considered re-finishing the existing wood floor and color matching new wood on the upper level. Randall Swift was able to sensibly and agreeably walk us through the options. We decided to replace everything with new wood floors. At first we had our $ concerns. But without doubt it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. I got the quote the next day and the carpet was ordered and installed a week later. The installers were great. They were efficient and cleaned everything up before they left.
