How could anyone not love this place? Yes, Carl's Damaged Pet Warehouse is the actual name and no,…read morethis is not an outlet store where the pets have minor cosmetic imperfections and are 40% off. It's actually a little animal rescue tucked into the backyard of a private property, where you can visit rescued Highland cows, pigs, goats, donkeys, tortoises, ducks, sheep and assorted other members of the Island of Misfit Pets. It's completely free to visit. You stay outside the fence for safety, but you can still pet and feed the animals (and it's okay to get emotionally attached to them!) Sometimes Carl leaves food outside for visitors to hand out to the "damaged pets" or you can bring your own approved snacks like apples, zucchini, carrots and cucumber. Basically a very wholesome BYOS situation. I posted a photo of the full approved-food list so you too can trick some furballs into becoming your new best friends. You can also leave a monetary donation to help with the cost of caring for the animals. You can visit at any time, but remember this IS someone's private property, so obviously be respectful of the home and neighbors.

When I reached out about a partial refund and offered to return the roosters, this is the response I got: No, actually, that only means it's not 100% accurate. Our policy is listed on our website. We do not guarantee, refund, return, swap, or exchange. This is an extremely standard policy across the board for any Hatchery or place of business that sells chicks. If you have a rooster you can give it away for free on Craigslist. Next time go ahead and shop at tractor supply. Buy your chicks from there and when you get a rooster try to call them and make them take it back and see what happens. Best, Brittney I'm so glad I didn't book my niece's birthday party here because the level of customer service leaves a lot to be desired. On a side note, we have bought many female chickens from Tractor Supply over the years and none have been roosters. Not even one.

They walked all the animals in a row, and gave my daughter a wonderful surprise. I did the hour combo and it was plenty of time, just like they suggested! They made my daughter feel special and important, they were genuinely caring, and went above and beyond anything I could have asked for. I recommended them to everyone! They have a huge cornfield maze that is not supervised. The kids had fun running around in there. We loved the pretzel stand. Their pretzels are huge and they offer a big variety of different flavors. Their pretzel dough is really good. The pretzel was crispy and fluffy. So so good. We all devoured them. Lots of fun photo ops available. One suggestion I have, make sure to order your tickets online as soon as you know you want to go visit the farm because they will sell out. They kindly let me buy tickets at the door for being a first responder. Thank you. I would have bought my tickets right away online if they had Apple pay because I did not have my card available at that time so I waited to buy my tickets. The next time I went online, they were sold out.

We had my daughter's birthday party here today and we're pretty disappointed. We just did the…read moreunicorn encounter because we were doing a small group with just a few kiddos. The whole reason we did this for her birthday is because my daughter is a strong believer in unicorns and absolutely loves them. Upon arriving the kids immediately noticed the "unicorn" and his horn was lopsided, falling off of his head. My daughter went up to the employee and told her that the horn was falling off. Later she told me that it broke her heart it wasn't a real unicorn. If you have a group coming specifically for a unicorn encounter that unicorn should be ready and looking magical as can be for their arrival. Additionally, the second reason we chose this experience was because the website said you would get to hold bunnies. My daughter loves bunnies and told me all leading up to the party that she couldn't wait to hold a bunny. The employee did NOT let the girls hold bunnies at all, she only let them pet the bunny. It also said they would feed alpacas, sheep, and goats. They didn't have the girls feed any animals at all. In fact no one was guiding through the process at all aside from a lady taking the girls in a circle twice on the pony. Then she disappeared for a long time until she finally came back out and brought out one bunny for them to pet. The AC was not turned on in the castle until we were about to leave and it was 2:30 in the afternoon so almost 100 degrees outside. Overall very disappointed and would not recommend going here. We paid $125 for the kids to basically run around a farm for an hour in 100 degrees. The reviews had been so great saying they make it a magical experience and sadly the magic was exactly what we were missing today.
