Got a hitch for my first non-trunk bike rack installed last week by Josh. The installation was super quick (20 min instead of the two hours they had estimated over the phone), and then he helped me pick a rack, pointing out the different features on their sales display and even testing out a couple different ones in the new hitch to demonstrate the hatch clearance. Super friendly service & I'm thrilled with my new rack! Took my bike out the very next day & rack works great - no rattling on the freeway or anything :). Definitely appreciated the service and expertise! read more

We were in San Francisco the other day, my husband looking for parts for his Thule car rack, walked into rack solid and my husband was dazzled with the Thule and Yakima parts they have here. The two fellows working there were most helpful and knowledgeable in identifying the "watcha ma call it" that helps hold the tray to the crossbar. They quickly understood what I wanted and had it in stock. You can reach them on line or do a walkin...as we did. Would definitely recommend... read more

Hunter and Ricardo were very knowledgable on the correct products to use for my Jeep. They were able to answer all all the questions about the racks and were thorough in making sure that all the existing ski and bike racks worked with the new crossbar. Use these guys for all your rack needs. Awesome service and can have most any rack product you are looking for same day. read more

These guys are great. Patrick, Stewart (like star trek!) all are super helpful and I am very satisfied. I am coming back for bike racks here in spring! read more

These guys really helped me out. I found them through Google and drove by, no appointment, with my Frankenrack that was about to blow off of my car. I was ready for someone to make me feel like an idiot for serious mis-installation -- I deserved it -- but not only didn't the Rack Solid guys not give me grief, they took the entire thing apart, found some key missing parts and reassembled it for me -- on the spot. I now have a completely solid rack. My suggestion: if you're thinking about installing your rack yourself but have the slightest doubt about its solidity, don't take the risk: these guys are pros, and very cool ones at that. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review. I normally wouldn't bother but this needs to be shared. DO NOT STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE. Obnoxious dude behind the counter (the white guy.) I first walked up to the counter, and a la an 80's movie douchebag warning the waiter to make his milkshake extra thick, he sneers, "They're two people ahead of you." I say ok and wander around the store. I make my way back up to the counter and the other sales guy says to me, "Yes?" I say I'm interested in a rack system and I have my car pulled up into the shop so you could take a look at my options. I can come back another time for the install. Douchebag-guy butts in saying, "We need to start on another car before yours." I'm taken aback. And offended. I shot back at him, "I"m asking him a question. About a roof rack. But I can leave." Which I did. This is a friggin roof rack store. Am I supposed to beg or cow tow for this ass-wipe to do his job. Or more importantly to display common courtesy. To be clear MOST OBNOXIOUS AND RUDE SALESPERSON I've come across. Maybe he's going through a divorce. Or his dog died. Who knows. (Products I saw in the shop looked decent enough. Just didn't get to them!) read more

Great store! Very friendly & helpful! Purchased a few things for my Ford.. I found Ricardo Martinez particularly a little more helpful as well. Prices were manageable! So happy to have found a local shop. read more

I couldn't get the ski rack off a car I was planning to sell but Sasha fit me at the last minute and took care of it. He was so helpful and informative and didn't even charge me. I'll definitely be back for a paid install or to buy new racks in the future. So pleasant to have great customer service like this, even when I didn't make an actual purchase!! read more

These guys are great. After doing days of online research on bike racks and speaking with both the dealership I bought my car from as well as multiple sports stores I came across these guys. They literally have any mount/rack combo you can imagine and will give you the most comprehensive and best advice you can get (their advice on best config actually saved me money) . I even went back to adjust a few things that were totally aesthetic and they did it happily for free. These guys rock...ask for Chris, he was super helpful! He carefully explained all my options, installed it himself, and even stuck around a good 45 min past closing to show me how to operate and adjust the rack (no small feet considering how mechanically challenged I am). I'll def be coming back when ski season starts!!! read more

Solid experience. After I brilliantly tried driving out of a Bike stores garage with my fiance's new bike atop the car ............ It, the towers and rack ripped off and ended up on the ground. Needless to say this was not a "user serviceable situation" Rack Solid actually located one of only two replacement kits for my model that were left and had it shipped. Kept in communication and did a great job with the re-mount. read more

On the cusp of just ordering a roof rack off Amazon, the existing Yelp reviews convinced me to head down to Racksolid. Their installation rate was extremely reaonsable (vs. an entire afternoon of youtubing how to do such a task) and they had a 10% discount which offset any out of state tax saving. But, the real value came when things went wrong. For whatever reason, the rack I had installed would whistle when I went over 55. The guys at Racksolid gave some advice on how to eliminate the noise but when that didn't work out, they straight swapped it out for a different model. Can you imagine trying to do the same thing via Amazon??!?! read more

The guys at Rack Solid are so great--they fixed the hinges and latches on my old Thule roof box in just 3 days, called me when they said they would, and then put it back on my car in the rain. I will definitely go here for any future bike rack and roof rack needs. read more

First off, I don't Yelp alot. But seeing as how awesome this place is I had to create an account. Anyways, I bought a Thule 575 (pronounced Thu-Le, lol) snowboard rack from Sports basement. Problem was that the stock bolts that came with it didn't fit my stock crossbars on my car (BMW). I went to the common places you would normally go for this stuff, REI, Sports Basement, Sports Authority.. nothing. Then a very kind worker from REI recommended this place. I mean, not to put down REI and the rest but when it comes to snowboard racks or bicycle racks, THIS place is THE place. Very friendly guy and he even hooked me up with a discount on the bolts i needed. Definitely coming back here for all my rack needs! read more

First of all, the guys at Rack Solid are very friendly, personable, and professional. They worked diligently and quickly and helped me pick out the right rack that fit my car. Mario, was especially helpful and professional and answered all my questions. He helped put on the rack very quickly and stuck to his word about the timing on putting on the hitch. Mario made a lasting impression on me and I have already recommended Rack Solid to many of my friends looking for similar services. These guys are great! Not only was there a large collection of racks to choose from, but also, the greatest part of all, amazing customer service! This place is definitely the "to go" place if you need racks or hitches for your car or any other miscellaneous things. Rack Solid will definitely has my loyalty! read more

Customer experience here is freaking amazing. These guys are super knowledgeable, helpful and generally good dudes. Their prices aren't the cheapest you're going to find, but they are worth the extra cost. Installation is a cinch. Also, if you find something cheaper online and you're debating, go in and talk to them. Give them the chance to work with you. You won't regret it. read more

Nick threw me a real solid yesterday. I brought my bike rack in that I had broken a couple years ago but never brought back to get fixed. Essentially I had the strap wrong and my bike fell off and with it tore the lock right out of the rack too. Nick offered to send it back to the manufacturer or if I had a few min we could try to repair it. 15 min later it was back together and he sent me on my way with a smile. This is quality customer service and I will come back for all my rack needs read more

All I have to say is, solid!! Got me in on short notice and helped me straighten my existing roof rack after I tried to install it myself. Got a Curt hitch installed in no time and the guys did great work. Will go back again for future needs!! You've got to check them out!! read more

I was looking for a specific piece of equipment, and was getting no where with my results. As it turned out, Rack Solid had one more of this piece of equipment in stock! Wow what are the odds of that. Chris was the customer service representative, and was very friendly during the process of my order through the phone, without any hassle. Got my package the very next day, and all the parts were here! Although I have not stepped a foot into their store, they have greatly exceeded my expectations, and because of that I have taken time to write this review on how excellent this company is. read more

I spoke to Recardo on the phone before I came in and I had an excellent experience with him here. He explained everything I needed to know on how to repair my Yakima roof rack and he was very patient with me. I highly recommend this place and I'll definitely be back! Thanks guys! read more

I stopped by unannounced to inquire about the installation of my racks and I couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received. Nick and his team were so helpful and got the job done in minutes. I would highly recommend Rack Solid for all of your rack needs! read more

Awesome shop and guys. Land Rover try and make it so you have to buy a factory rack, but Rack Solid were able to do a custom-fit Whispbar rack which looks gorgeous and is super-quiet and aerodynamic. Expensive, but cheaper and nicer than the factory rack. read more

Update - got new hitch re-installed, screws fixed, and rack is now good to go. They were very professional about the whole thing. Thanks guys. read more

Fast, honest and cheap! $20 and 15 minutes to fix a BMW tire that they could easily have said was too damaged.

Ordered a roof rack for a road trip I was preparing for a month out. They charged me for the kit, told me they would call me when it arrived to schedule installation. After 3 weeks and multiple phone calls inquiring on its tracking, they FINALLY realized that they never placed my actual order. Something that could have been resolved the last three times I called if they hadn't brushed me off. He said they finally placed the order and would be another 2 weeks for it to arrive. So to make my departure deadline I asked them if they could call the vendor back and expedite the order since they never placed it in the first place. He told me I would have to pay the expedite fee. After the manager was rude he told me if I didn't want it to call the vendor back and cancel it directly through them. SO I DID. But Rack Solid decided to replace the order after I cancelled it without my permission. They are STILL refusing to return my $600 for a kit that was never installed and I never got to use on my road trip. All staff was rude and nasty beyond belief on the phone, like the not ordering was my fault and that I was outrageous for even suggesting they expedite it to make my trip when I placed my order weeks ago. read more

If you need service for your Yakima rack I definitely recommend this place and in particular Sasha who provided extremely good customer service. The problem was the locking tumbler of the skewer which was sticking either in the locked or open position. Sasha replaced the skewer and tumbler which did the trick. We were in and out in 15 minutes! Thank you Sasha. read more

these guys are the best! Nick and team go way, way way out of their way to make sure you've got the best fit out for whatever your addiction calls for. read more

Just walked in and asked about what I thought would be a hard to find part for my Thule rack - a little plastic endcap. They not only found one for me but gave it to my no charge. Totally unexpected. This is the kind of surprise and fright service you don't find anymore. Highly recommend. read more

I went in a day or two prior to XMas and was in need of help with some racks (fitting, mounting) which were "hand me downs" from my father. I arrived to this shop with spare parts, bags of parts etc.. both Ian and Abe were SOLID with their service. They offered on the spot help, walked out to the car with me, rolled up their sleeves, printed off manuals...the whole enchilada. I was impressed with their can do attitude and professionalism. Was not expecting this level of service. Being that it was the holidays and stress was running high, these two guys made it chill and relaxed and that was very, very welcoming to us! 5 STAR ALL THE WAY read more

Had a terrific experience at Rack Solid. We decided very last minute (day before) that we wanted to take our bikes on vacation with us. I called Rack Solid, explained our situation to Ariel (sp?), and then jumped in my car and headed over. As soon as I got out of the car, Ariel came over and greeted me. He had a recommendation all lined up, gave me a discount, and installed the rack (patiently explaining the process to me while I filmed him with my phone!). The whole thing took less than half an hour. Amazing! read more

We just bought a Tulie rack for our bikes here.. The guys here are pretty awesome. Great customer service great product..

purchased thule rook rack for bf for christmas from here yesterday. after all the researching and etc - they had pretty competitive deals (amazon was about $50 cheaper - but it's all about instant gratification right?) the guy i talked to on the phone was helpful and didn't try to sell me stuff right away or be annoyed with bunch of questions. local business and great service. you can't go wrong with that. read more

Every time I go to this place I get a supreme customer service experience. The guys who work here are knowledgeable and personable. I never feel over sold when I leave but I always seem to come back for more. I recently bought a Thule system with a bike mount and a cargo box, it was a little on the pricey end but now that I have had the system for a couple months I am really glad I made the investment. After downsizing to a small car for city living I upsized my cargo box. It makes weekend camping trips possible in my tiny hatchback. I wish I got names for the guys that help me, because I want to give them props. But no matter who helps you, plan on being taken care of. read more

Friendly, fast, and professional. They ordered me some custom parts at the beginning of the week; I came in a couple days later, had lunch next door at Zeke's and drove off with stylin' new racks, professionally installed at a reasonable price. Can't ask for much more than that. read more

I went to Rack Solid b/c 1) wanted to support local biz, 2) wanted good advice & peace of mind. All the guys at the shop were very nice and genuinely helpful. Sasha is the best! I had a problem with my Yakima bike rack and Sasha really came through to help me. He solved the problem, coming out to my car several times (once in the pouring rain) to resolve the issue. I highly recommend Rack Solid! read more

These guys are awesome. They helped me trouble shoot some problems with my rack as I did not have all the parts. They even helped me install it. And I hadn't even bought the rack from them. Truly standup folks. I'll definitely be checking them out for my next relevant purchases. read more

Awesome place if you are looking to rack your vehicle. I have a Tundra and Scott / Sasha did a custom install for my single bike rack. It has been awhile since the install and the rack needed some adjustments on it so I came by today and they had no problem helping me out with the situation. They adjusted the rack and made it like new all over again without a extra charge. I really appreciate them remembering my truck and the custom work they did to install the rack. I will always be loyal to RACKSOLID for any future racking I may require and recommend to all of my family and friends to visit RACKSOLID if they may require any racking for their vehicles.
