I brought my car in for a hitch where they had to take off the bumper. However, they came out and told me that they had taken off some fender flares and did not have the right material to put them back on. TBH, they could have done the job, put them on and I would not have noticed. Instead, they bought new flares, paid for them to be painted and installed. In all, it cost them 2X what I paid for the hitch. Honesty and integrity have mostly vanished but not here. Even when they forgot to give me some screws, they rushed over and delivered them at the body shop. Amazing service. Great job team. Fan for life. read more

Total ripoff, bought a rack from them and then they tell me its dosnt come with the bars that cross the bed. I left two stars because the product itself hasn't had any issues as of yet. I'm sad to write this review. I'm out $450 for no good reason. I asked for information and support, in person. When I walked out, I thought I was being supported, but truly wasn't. More on that in a minute. Rack attack had all the specs on my car, as we had an appointment, and I was going over what we were trying to pull via the hitch. I gave the specs on that camper too. I had to really advocate to get somebody to help me understand what we needed on the road to be safe with pulling a camper via the hitch. A lot of really vague answers but after my persistent questioning, I got more clarity. Come to find out three days after the hitch was installed and $450 was already spent, my car can't even pull the camper that we wanted to. That is also the lightest camper we found, so there is no other camper we can legally pull. We did not understand this prior. I explained to Rack Attack plainly that we are extremely new to this and I need extra support making sure we are not missing anything related to safety that other seasoned folks would already know.. Camper vendor never said anything. Rack Attack never said anything. I now have a hitch on my car for no reason at all and Rack Attack was paid out fully for that. It's disappointing that people will truly just sell you products and services that don't benefit you at all. read more

I bought "Thule"lock keys from this dealer on amazon. I will post pictures of how it was advertised vs what I actually received in the mail. Long story short, they sent cheaper, low quality aftermarket parts instead of a genuine Thule product. Thule always has logo and packaging with the Thule name on it and their product had none. Still, they charged me full retail price (see comparable products in photos). Lastly, they charged $10 for shipping a small, lightweight product in a large envelope. NOTE: the e-commerce manager claims that they cannot change the stock photos and that the locks come in bulk from Thule so they do not see a need to package them in plastic and "waste more plastic" so they can "reduce plastic use." I believe these claims, but it is only one part of my review. See below. From some of the reviews, it seems as though shady business practice is common here. I'll never do business with this company again. It's a basic business principle that you advertise and picture online should match the product you send. I spent $70 on these locks and the ones they gave me are worth half of that. UPDATE: I received a sarcastic, almost demeaning email from an "e-commerce manager" named Sean. I'll post the email in the photos. Basically, he explains the packaging issues and stock photos on Amazon. So I changed my review to reflect that. The staff at Rack Attack didn't fail to give me first class help with my recent mishap. My bike rack was recently damaged by a car wash. Since it was a double, I was using the set closest to the car, but I was a tad nervous. I drove to Rack Attack and they came up with a great solution to remove the outer rack, just leaving it a single. That worked. However, when they opened up the "innards" of the rack, it was more damaged leaving it very risky to have my bike on it at all. They came up with another great solution. A new single rack. The old one was removed, the new one installed and I was on my way!! They even discounted the new rack and didn't charge for installation or removal and disposal of the old one. I LOVE THESE GUYS! Really great place to look at Racks for skiing, biking, storage, and everything else. Also a great place to check out rooftop tents!! They had a ton of options. We were interested in a very niche brand that they didn't carry, the employee who helped us still was very knowledgeable about the brand and recommended some local places to check out that may carry it. Also, showed us what they carried that was comparable and educated us on some attachments and modifications we could do that would suffice with what we were looking for as well. Only downside was the long wait, but they were packed when we were there and got one-on-one assistance within 15 minutes. Also, almost all of the racks available were on back order it seemed (although, this is the market right now and out of their control, other rack stores are experiencing the same backlog). read more

We bought a Kuat bike rack here years ago to haul our bikes. They sell top-of-the-line lightweight well-designed racks. This is definitely the professional store to deal with. The guys that work here are always super friendly, patient and helpful with answering all of the questions I have about rack systems (AND without an inkling of mansplaining, which is great and always appreciated - high five, guys!!) My first interaction with them was back in 2015 when I purchased and had them install a Thule ski rack system on my Audi A3. I recently traded that car in for a Q5, so I brought the A3 in to have them take the rack off and Devon was the absolute man with not only taking the system off but also with explaining what could be used from that system on the new vehicle. I just called and spoke with Eric about bringing in the Q5 to have them install a roof rack on it, and again, he was incredibly helpful with double checking that I could use the Thule cross bars I have from the A3 on the new system, emailed me a quote for products I'll need for the new vehicle + install, and scheduled a time for me to bring the Q5 in next week with ease. Last summer I subleased this room in Boulder and ended up living with a couple of rich college kids. At first this seemed annoying, since I forgot that there was such a huge growth period between the age of 20 and the age of 25... Anyway, one mid-summer's day I cruised my bike home and was bringing it in the back to tie up and I noticed a pair of ski racks on the ground near the back door. (I know, I was curious too!) I asked one of my roommates, "Hey, can I have these.... Why don't you want them?" He then answered, "I don't know, something broke off of them and I couldn't find the part anywhere, so I just went and bought an entire new rack." "So I can have it?" I asked in a sweet voice with my eyebrows raised..."Sure, I don't care." So the broken rack sat in the back of my car until early November of this last year, when ski season was approaching. I fell on Rack Attack and dropped by the store one day to see how much it would cost to get these puppies up on my roof. Ended up that the racks where missing a small part that was only $24! This isn't event the best part... Rack Attack is awesome; they kept throwing in these free things...like they just gave my boyfriend this kayak rack for his car if he purchased the connector piece... Then, they gave me a free lock for the rack if I just paid for the lock change service. My new racks, that hold up to four or five pairs of skis, cost me a total of about $40...Mostly because Rack Attack is so chill and so into the adventure enthusiast activities that they went out of their way to help us customers out... This seems to be the best place in Denver as far as expensive selection and quality mounting service. I spent more than $1,600 here to attest to that. However, there was one older gentleman with whom I spoke regarding my hitch mount bike rack and he was so condescending and so unhelpful. He spoke over me, told me that what I was seeing on the rack wasn't there, and could give me no words of advice, except to bring it in for inspection. I appreciate the offer to troubleshoot, but I was looking for immediate help, as I was on the road and the rack was shaky. Rack Attack can actually build a custom roof rack solution for you. I have a 91 Civic Wagon 4WD that I got for skiing/mountain biking/etc. Finding the right Thule parts to fit was becoming a pain online..so I brought the car in here and they did a custom flush roof mount of Thule Aerobars. It looks WAY better than normal fit kits and will get better gas milage too. I was in and out within an hourish (make sure to set an appointment). They also have a waiting area with couches, magazines, and free wifi. They were even able to price match some online sales I found on the parts they sold me. Great job! An entire store for just roof rack and car systems! This is such a Colorado shop must if you need to add to what you have or get a kit installed. I already had a roof rack system for my snowboard and bicycles, but I lost my Thule keys and needed them replaced. I walked in, told a specialist my situation. He gave me some different options. I ran out to my car and told one of their employees what lock system I had and he set me up with new keys on the spot. I was pretty excited. read more

Decided to go to this business due to the high reviews. It turned out to be a disaster!!!! They have a huge demand for their services so you have to make an appointment several weeks out-which we did. When we showed up for our "appointment" had to wait several hours and then once they got to our car they rushed the job-when we got home we found damage to our vehicle. We took the car back to show the manager the damage and he completely denied that it could have been due to them and wasn't willing to work with us even though we could show with photos how the damage was due to their rushed installation. My recommendation to those using this business, take photos of your car before the service and then walk the car after the service in case there is damage. read more

Rack Attack charged my credit card for a rooftop tent that they never actually ordered. I waited almost 2 months for this tent to come in before I was able to find out the truth from the tent company that Rack Attack had never actually placed the order. Rack Attack assured me multiple times the order had been placed. After numerous unanswered phone calls, I eventually went to the store to attempt to get some answers. I then waited 30 minutes for anyone to speak with me. They eventually refunded my money, but this tent is on a several month backorder because of COVID. I will never be doing business with Rack Attack again, and I highly recommend you find another company if you need car accessories installed. Response 9/1/20 Even if that is the case, your staff told me on 3 separate occasions in July that they had confirmed the order with RoofNest. And even if that is the case, Rack Attack's customer service was poor as I stated above. Last night, I was over at my friend's to borrow his cargo box and we find the key broke off in the lock cylinder. With only 36 hours before our holiday road trip, I'm stressing out about how I'm going to get my family and all our stuff inside my vehicle. I call RackAttack first thing in the morning and Jake said, "No problem, bring it in." I did. Problem solved. A reasonable service fee charged. Rack attack really let me down. Very unhappy. I went to get a set of bars installed on my Subaru - and I originally intended to get the door edge pillars and aerodynamic bars. In the course of conversation Zach told me about Thule flush mount bars, which were much lower profile and were promised to be much quieter than the pillar mounts. They were $150 more, and holes were needed in the roof to mount them, but I was assured this was something they did every day and they knew what they were doing. Long term, if there were any problems with the install I was told, rest assured, they'd take care of it under warranty. I pay the extra and a couple hours my car is done. I get it just as they close. Everything is golden until I hit 40mph - anything beyond that creates a shrill whistle coming from the rack. No big deal right? Wrong. I research and the manufacturer recommends that the bars be repositioned if there is excessive noise. Well that can't be done with them being permanently mounted to the roof. The next morning I take my car in to have them take care of the whistle, and now I'm told the racks all make noise. Whistling isn't a problem, according to Ryan. As an aside, as we're discussing the rack we step out to look at the car and I notice there are dents in the cars trim work exactly where the bars were mounted. This is a car I take immaculate care of and I know like the back of my hand and the car had no dents before their install. I express my upset to Ryan - and he tells me that I couldn't prove they put the dents in the car - he said that hail would look like that. I asked him if he seriously thought the hail had dented the car exactly where the bars were. He said yes, and that the dents were not their problem. He said even though I should have been expecting a whistle to begin with he'd take a look and see if anything could be done. Two hours in the waiting room later Ryan says he tried all kinds of things and the only option that worked were big nerf pads for the bars with car-wide 5" rack attack logos facing front and back. They looked stupid and the whole point of getting the low profile bars was aerodynamics and aethetics. I had paid cash so Ryan knew I had no recourse. I couldn't go back to my credit card company to challenge the charge, and they sent me away unhappy and with dents and a lot of hurt about their customer service. So once I got home I decided to take a look myself. I mean, if these pros at Rack Attack couldn't figure it out how could I? But I dug out the manual, opened everything up, and then I became really upset. The bolts holding the bars to the mounts were loose! Like already out a couple turns loose on both sides. Shims had been hacked into the front bar to set it at an angle, and the bolt with the shim was cross threaded on one side. The whistle was coming from a gap created when they put the mounts too close together on the roof. To top it off one of the end caps was improperly installed. Not a big deal itself, but reflects the attention to detail the obvious stuff gets. If I had used this rack as they installed it I ran the risk of my cargo becoming unbound and hitting the vehicle behind me. The bolts weren't even finger tight! So I spent time fixing their shoddy work, and put gorilla tape in the gaps created by the mounts permanently mounted to the roof being too close together. I wrapped the bars in paracord to get rid of the useless pads they had tried to 'solve' my problem with. Now everything is virtually silent. Since I couldn't get them to install it right, fix it, or take responsibility for the debts they put in my car and knowing they intentionally screwed me over knowing I had no recourse through a card I know their 'lifetime warranty' is bullshit and even if it weren't I wouldn't let my car anywhere near them again. I spent the time to type this so you can be an informed consumer. I never write bad reviews. Rack attack completely disappointed me. So I wrote this one. Update 6/27/18 - Ryan at rack attack reached out to me and offered to take care of the dents and cover the cost of an air deflector. I appreciated the follow up, and think it says something beyond what I had said in my review, so updating them to 3 stars as a result. read more
