While I truly appreciate the skill of my nail technician, the front desk experience has consistently been a source of frustration. On multiple visits, the two younger women working the front desk have come across as dismissive and bothered -- whether I'm checking in, asking a simple question, or processing payment. I've also overheard negative remarks made about other customers, which was uncomfortable to witness. Additionally, I've found it difficult to accommodate basic requests, such as being seated with a friend or requesting a specific nail tech. The front-of-house experience has made it difficult to justify returning. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I believe it reflects a larger pattern that may be affecting other customers as well.

She also over drilled my nail when removing my no-chip and it is paper thin and red. I do not understand why they remove the no-chip by drilling instead of soaking-off like you are supposed to. She tried to say my nail was like that before, and although it WAS a little on the thinner side, she drilled to the point that it is sore and red and I felt it bothering me in the water. I left with no polish to do it myself at home because she was so rough. She also filed my nails horribly and I had to refile my nails at home. Jagged edges and crooked. I definitely won't be back especially for a $65 pedicure this bad.

I've been coming to Sapphire Halsted for many years and when I say I love everything about this place, I mean it. I love the bright space filled with art, fun music videos and chill vibes. The talent is unmatched. The techs keep the convo flowing when I'm feeling chatty, and don't press me when I just want to zone out. That's big for me. I've never had a bad mani, but IMO, Gala is the best. She meticulously removes every last shred of cuticle (and not in a way that hurts or makes my nail beds angry and red) and applies polish with such care. You can tell the owner takes great pride in his business because of the effort that he puts in to hiring great people and keeping the place looking nice. I always leave feeling relaxed and my nails looking amazing. I've never had a bad experience here and I look forward to visiting Black Onyx for years to come!

It's been 3 years, so I decided to treat myself, and made an appointment at Revive Nails!! The booking system is easy to work with, and I was able to get a confirmed appointment quickly. I appreciated the info texted to me to find the salon easily while they do renovations (excited to see what it looks like when they're done!) I've always been kind of wary of getting nail services again because I'm always worried that I'm going to have too much cuticles cut off or that I'll get a burn from the drill, but Kimmy made sure that I was comfortable the entire time and it was a completely painless and comfortable experience! She guided me through color choices, shapes, and explained all of the proper aftercare (how to make the best of my mani/tips for keeping things looking their best in between appointments, etc.) I really felt like she knew what she's doing and that she cares about your nail health and comfort! I was in and out in less than 2 hours, and didn't have to suffer the smell of acrylic that I was used to. I'll definitely be back in the future!!
