If your in the market for a new rear spring for your 2024 te 300, do not use their chart. its two long and will rub on swingarm. reached out them with photos and questions but was told everyone else had no problem. was kicked around the shop like a empty can. nobody followed through with the problem. finally got a email to fill out a return form and pay to ship back. blah. just recently sent out a current email and correct spring information to return manager, but no responce. thanks to a small shop, i will be back on dirt soon read more

Suspension work was good. Frustrated as fuck with just about everything else. Let's start off with calling in and getting a quote. I was mainly worried about the time because I needed to get a rental as my bike is my commuter. They told me 2 weeks so I held off, then they later said 1 week so I decided to go for it. I bring the bike in and the new cost is an extra ~$200 because they didn't put in the rear suspension work too. Sure not a huge bump let's do it anyways. I call a day before its supposed to get done and find out the forks haven't been anodized yet so it will be another week. So I extend my rental, had I been given a few days notice I would have made other plans to borrow a vehicle to save money, but I didn't have time to schedule anything. I know this isn't their fault, but it adds to the foul taste of the entire experience. During the 2nd week of the rental I had to go to LA and the rental got keyed. So now I have to pay my deductible on the rental. The cost of their delays just skyrocketed for me. So I call the day before and they confirm by 1 on Friday. I show up the day it is supposed to be done at 12:30, and end up waiting almost 3 mores hours. The rental needed to be returned by noon or I wouldn't have been early. To top it off I paid to have the forks anodized black because I want to black out my bike. Well they went ahead and slapped their stickers on the forks. I didn't want to complain there after already having such a terrible experience so I decided to remove them at home. Well now I have some ugly ass residue of some of the letters. Motorsports is a passion for me. Race Tech enjoys a reputation for producing quality products, so I thought. I purchased a pair of front springs for my Tenere 700 from Race Tech. The OEM front spring length is 420 millimeters. The front springs provided by Race Tech was 360 millimeters and included with the front springs was a 16 inch aluminum pipe. I called Race Tech and a really contentious (rude) woman responded to my inquiry. This amazingly rude woman told me I need to cut the aluminum pipe to make-up for the missing 60 millimeters of missing coiled front spring. Thinking I was crazy, because I know reducing the number of coils in the front spring with an aluminum pipe will reduce the amount of travel, I checked their web site and no mention of the 360 millimeter reduction to the 420 millimeter OEM front spring. The kicker here is, this very nice lady on the phone told me they do this to ALL Tenere 700's, even the Tenere's they prepare in their shop! As should be apparent, Race Tech has scammed me in the sale itself and I am certain they will try to scam me again when returning their unusable and substandard front fork springs. Simply stated,Race Tech front springs do not meet OEM standards necessary to maintain the minimum amount of travel provided by Yamaha's OEM front fork springs. Buyer Beware. read more

Purchased a shaft seal for the front suspension. Based on what the size they listed on the website I purchased the part, once received the part it was a different size, and this exact part on the OEM website or RMATV is less expensive. 60$ with shipping for a 10$ seal seems bananas. read more

He is listed on their website as Sales, no response. So, I decided to call directly, it took me 5 times through their on-hold que to get a person on the phone. They have super static on their on-hold music which I endured for 25 minutes until someone picked up the phone. The process is/was not a great Customer Experience. Because I was on hold for so long I started a chat session with another company and they spec'd my springs quickly and sent me links so I can order. Their spring rate calculator is WAAYYYYY off. Do NOT trust it. These guys are idiots and literally have no idea what they're doing. The idiots picking up the phone blindly follow whatever their EXTREMELY flawed spring rate calculator churns out. If they can't give you a correct spring rate that means they can't properly valve any suspension and frankly have literally no idea at all about what they're doing. This is all of course in addition to extremely poor customer service. I was hung up on not once, but twice. Their phone system is also terrible and puts you in a queue for 15 minutes for the "next representative" and then goes to a voicemail. RaceTech is comically bad. Their only claim to fame is the infamous Spring Rate Search. This company needs to go out of business. read more

So far I've had a positive experience with RaceTech. My custom rear shock for my Tenere 700 is right on time. They originally estimated 8 weeks for a full custom shock and are right about there. honestly even getting close to the estimated amount of time is refreshing in this day and age. As for my front suspension for the tenere 700 I refrenced one of their one star reviews talking about the shorter spring length and the tech happily explained how if the spring is longer than the travel you don't lose out on anything and even started going over the physics / science of it too. Horrible service on machine work. Had a valve job done on a 2015 zx6r and the machinist retuned the head so far out of spec no valve adjustment was possible. He was very arrogant and did not know the difference between steel and titanium valves. Good money was spent with nothing in return. read more

After being lied to by the front desk which he was told by his manager to do so. He told me it was a parts defect on a spring which after going back twice I told him was a straight lie. The front desk admitted that springs for a super tenere was not test fitted. I went back a second time for a suspension setting and called ahead due to covid. I was assured by a rep over the phone that I could come down. After which in person I could not have the work done and only after requesting to speak to a manager(I imagine the same manager) that the work was done. read more

I am giving Race-Tech Three stars because of their suspension. Their suspension kits for the front and rear of harley's are definetly one of the better suspensions out there, no complaints at all. But beware if you have them do any type of powder coating or anodizing to your fork legs. I payed close to 900$ for them to rebuild the front end on my '97 super glide, and I wanted them to anodize the lower legs a matte black at first. They told me they were done, to come in and pick them up. They were not assembled, they brought me out the lower legs and the anodizing looked like burnt charcoal, absolutely horrible. They asked me what I wanted to do, my first thought was, why didn't they just send them back and redo them and get them the way they're supposed to be? But they didn't do that. So I said go ahead and powder coat them gloss black, which took another week. On top of the three weeks they already had them. I went to go pick them up and under the florescent lighting they looked fine and with it being race tech and knowing their reputation I didn't really bother to really check them out, but that's on me because I thought they did good work there. So I got home, unwrapped them, and they totally looked like shit. The powder coating was rough throughout both legs as if there were dirt or sand in them, and the cosmetic cover that sits over the sliders had a big gouge where you could actually run your finger over and cut yourself. It's like they took a screw driver when they assembled them and pried them up instead of turning them around and seeing the notch made for the tool to pop them right off. the first thing they teach you at any type of mechanic school is not to use a screw driver as any type of pry bar, and that looks exactly what they did. when I asked them about it they said that the scarring was just a byproduct of the situation because they just press fit on there.. pretty lame ass excuse if you ask me. I would recommend race tech suspension front or rear to any one, but i would not recommend RT themselves doing the work.. i would do it yourself or take it to a shop you know and trust to do it for you.. they gave me the money back for the powder coating, but my bike still sits with no front end because i had to take it to another shop and have them decompressed and taken apart, and to another powder coater to get them reshot.. so all in all it's costing me more money and time. i'm sure it doesn't happen to everyone, but it happened to me so i'm just saying to think twice before taking it to RT and if you have a powder coater you trust.. take it to them to do the powder coating for you.. read more

I took my 2013 Yamaha WR450F dirt bike into Race Tech to have my suspension set up properly. I needed stiffer springs front and rear for my weight and the other associated adjustments made. I could not be happier with the whole experience. When it turned out that the original spring I purchased wasn't going to work, sales person Louie Martinez assisted me in getting it returned for the correct one at no cost to me. No questioned asked. When I brought my bike in for installation of my front springs and to get everything dialed in, my service tech was a very knowledgeable suspension guru named Josh. Although he's a young guy, he really knows his stuff. I felt very confident leaving my bike in his very capable hands. The proof that I was right was in the amazing way my bike handled after taking my first ride. It was like a whole different bike. From Louie, to Josh to the cashier/receptionist at the desk, Samantha, everyone I dealt with at Race Tech was professional, friendly and very helpful. Great company. Great guys, experts in their field. Installed a pair of used forks from a Daytona on my Street Triple. Made an appointment to ride down and have them service it while I waited, not normally how they go about it. But a really nice facility with a waiting room and wifi. New seals, oil, proper springs for my weight and tuning with me on the bike and how ride completely transformed the setup. Also dialed in the shock to work with the new setup. Even answered some questions a week later to help dial it in even further. read more

I've been going to racetech for years. They have always been accommodating and have great service. That's not to say they dont have problems as every company or person does. Heres ny story. I have some gs3 rear shocks for a harley. Moving parts on bikes someone i wont name released the nitrogen out of one shock. I drove out to corona, about an hour 1 way to have it recharged, during pandemic. The guy I spoke with mistakenly (?) told me the shock needed to be rebuilt. $500 for 2 $1000 rear shocks. I wasnt going to do that without at least trying to repair it myself 1st. So I got what I thought was the parts I needed to repair it. Needless to say they gave me wrong parts, drive out again, same issue, had shock with me drove home, wrong part. 3rd time i went I rode my bike, I had both shocks with me bc I didt want to waste the trip. Got there at closing. Talked to tech who was cooler than the other side of the pillow and he talked to someone, a woman came out, said leave the shocks we will fix and send to you, I said how much she said nothing. I wasn't expecting them to rebuild both shocks, but they did. Thars $500 they charge for that. They also sent me a tshirt. I'm wearing it rn getting on my bike. Racetech is all in all a great company, and i believe they will do right by anyone. read more

I bought two inner tube for my suspension ,and one was all RUSTED inside so I called for support ,so the person on the other side of the phone asked for pictures so I send some pictures then he agreed and he told me he will send me new one to replace the rusted one!!! And since that time which it was 21 st may 2018 until now the 30th may 2018 he does not answer my calls and does not return my messages and my suspension is all apart waiting for him to send me the item or at least answer my calls to know what to do!! read more

I was assured it was easy to set the shim stack... but... . the instructions were not available after accessing the online build sheet. 3 days later, after I had to call twice the email came thru with info but the shim configuration Was incomplete... One whole column was missing from page... Their email said I would have to send them the shock because it is considered a shop job anyway... That is not what I was told at the day. called and ordered parts... Emailed to resolve this problem. No response. Called again, took two times calling to get ahold of the person, I'm so done Messing with this company.... they may have great reviews with their seals,,, But people.... Brought in my 2015 Harley Davidson FLHR to get my suspension redone. Bike went in perfect shape got it back and my front fender had been scratched by them hitting my brake lines while putting my suspension back on. Told them as soon as I got home and they said they would take care of me (Friday) Took the bike to the body shop and now told me it was my fault for having aftermarket brake lines. Very sad when you drop good money to have someone dent and scratch a Harley you have well over 50k into. Hopefully my suspension holds up. Wish I would have got on here and read some reviews. Over a dozen friends wanted the same work done, now they are looking else where. Hope the money you saved NOT fixing what you did to my bike helps keep you in business since your shop is ran by kids working on extremely expensive bikes... Worthless.. read more

This exact thing is happening to me as we speak. I shipped my forks out 3 weeks ago or more . And they were supposed to be done beginning of last week and I have a buyer lined up for the bike the forks go on . And they told me they would call me . Never got a cal so I went to check in with them . Then they told me they didn't have my name in their system . So basically I had to re tell them al I wanted done to my forks and they would relay the message to the service department and have them call me . Few days roll around ...and ofcorese no phone call... so I call them and they they told me "i dont know if anyone called you buy you have damage to your legs on the forks , we can replace them or put them back together". NO I GOT NO PHONE CALL! I told them to just put it back together and he told me he would have them shipped out Friday and would cal me with the billing info. Monday rolls around still no phone call.... Call them again and they told me oh ya we're all done will ship out today. I asked them if they could compensate any or comp the shipping since they are basically a week late, made me miss the buyer on my bike , and overall just giving me the run around ...I am very bummed with their support and service . The great team at RT contacted me to discuss the setup I was looking for, we dialed in the sag for my bike and a replacement G3 was sent in a few days. I've been a long time customer of Race Tech, and have used their suspension products in nearly every bike I've owned. Recently my experience led me to have to share with everyone else. I purchased a 2017 CRF450R a short time ago and have been waiting patiently for the aftermarket to catch up so I can get it dialed in. As usual I went with RT valving for my new bike and was expecting the standard process, however this time was different. Due to the newness of the bike, RT went far beyond expectations to get me dialed in with exactly what I need to be race ready once again. To the extent of even getting some shims out to me that were unexpected in my set up. I've recommended them to many people and will continue to do so moving forward. Great experience. I really can't say enough and how helpful they have been, I recently rebuilt my engine, I dropped off my crankshaft to be rebuilt, my cylinder to be honed, and cylinder head to be rebuilt, new valves, and 5 angle valve job. Not only did they do a great job, it was done in 3 days, I had forgotten to bring my cams and covers with me so they suggested I ship the parts so they could shim the valves, get it all set up and so all I had to do is set timing and bolt on the head...at no extra cost.. And that's what I did. Quick, answered all my several questions, really nice, and bike runs like a champ. I will be using race tech for all my MX needs and questions, and referring all my family and friends as well. read more

My story with Race Tech. I had them do full suspension on my motorcycle roughly 4 years ago, over $3500 worth of work, I am a weekend warrior, I do not beat my bike up, I do not race, my shocks failed, leaked gas, which for the money I have spent that should have not happened in the first place, I know that things do happen and I understand that. I sent my shocks in and was charged over $350 for a rebuild. When I received my shocks back to my dismay within weeks my rebound adjustments were non functional, what a disappointment. In the first place anytime I call them it is hard to ever speak to anybody, they always send me to their voice mail. This is a place of business with high status and I expect them to deal with my problems in a timely manner not 1 or 2 days later. After speaking to somebody two times this day in question, I do not want to mention his name, I was promised by the end of the day I would receive an email and never received it. That is unprofessional, I spent a lot of money and this is not the first time this has happened to me with Race Tech. The last time I had to send my suspension in it was a 3 week turnaround, I know that they are a reputable company, I do not like to bash anybody, sometimes I wonder if I should of went to Ohlins Suspension instead. Sorry Race Tech but you guys need to kick it up a notch in Customer Service. read more

Worst experience ever. Don't deal with these jokers. Customer service along with customer care is non existent. You follow up on your order and they'll say they will call you back and it never happens. Instead they'll lie and tell you they left you a message. In my case I called them out on it and was basically called a liar by the secretary who was rude and had terrible people skills. Was constantly apologized for screw ups but nothing was fixed or no compensation for their mistakes. I was called to pick up my order, so I made an hour drive to get my parts only to wait an hour to be told that they messed up and the order was not complete and I would have to wait longer. Originally I was told it would be a three week wait but hopefully two weeks. I'm on a month and waiting to complete this order. These jokers are unorganized and rude. Don't order anything from them unless you want your bike down for a couple of months. read more
