My family and I use to come here all the time since we moved here to get our cars repaired. Just recently, I took my car in January to repair the clutch actuator in my hybrid and they took 4 months to complete the repair after trial and error. They took on a bigger project than they were qualified for, damaging a part after another, eventually replacing the hybrid battery and transmission. They always had an excuse pushing the deadline on every single inbound call. After applying daily pressure on them on a continuous basis , I finally received my car in April, however, the shop still owes me $583 for one of the car rentals they told me to purchase. I kept calling to retrieve the money but they didn't keep their word and denied paying me back. I could have easily placed a lien on the business for $583 with all the proof to retrieve my money but you know my good heart didn't follow through. Instead, writing this review will sting bigger and is the least I can do for the people. Im an easy going guy but after going through this extensive car repair, we decided to pull away from doing any future business for the wrong doing and unprofessionalism of their actions. I believe it's only right for everyone to hear about this and avoid what I went through, therefore, save yourself a headache. The owner is not a man of his word. This will bake in slowly. P.S. Despite what the owner stated in the past, I've had my Ford worked on over there several times.....all for the same problem.....the transmission! The 1st time I thought all went well, until when he had the car delivered, on the receipt was stamped 6 mos warranty! Well, after I authorized him to repair the transmission....he said that he would give me a 1 year warranty. When I asked him about the 6 mos warranty stamp, he said "no worries they made a mistake....I will honor 1 year." I paid him $3,200 for the job. WHO in their right mind would agree to only a 6 mos warranty after paying that much?! So, the car ran well for about 7 months, then transmission went out. I called him, and had the car towed back over there. He said that " you know it's out of warranty, but I will see what I can do". So now he forgets about what he initially told me! So, he kept my car for another 6 mos......dodging all of my calls, and making up B.S. excuses about why my car wasn't ready! When I got the car back he told me that he would not give me a new warranty! The car ran for another few months....then transmission went out again! Smh SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME! It's always a big question when you go to a mechanic... will they be honest? Will they try and work me? Is it going to break the bank? .... J's garage is honest, to the point and fair. Like any mechanic shop it's busy and there is a bit of organized chaos but I can say for J's they keep it all pretty clean and organized. I took my 2011 Honda civic sedan in and I needed a few things covered. An oil leak, my air conditioning, and my speedometer was still on but not showing how fast I've been going. J had it for about 45 min (they were busy) and he was able to run diagnostics, find the oil leak and figure out the pump was out in my car. I don't particularly like sharing number but in my research and at a Honda dealership I would have been in the hole 3k easily and 1k of that would have just been for the diagnostics. Jay was more than fair with his price and Was straight forward with the price, but it did not break the bank and when you know you have a good mechanic you don't have to question your trust in them. Needless to say my car is running perfectly, everything is fixed and not only has J's have my trust and respect they have e a loyal customer. The quality of work matches the integrity of its owner and leader J. He has his family come in and help and honestly just meeting his kids and having passive conversations with them I could say if I knew nothing about J, his kids reflect integrity, hard work, and perspective. A Breakdown That Turned Into a Wonderful Experience If you're ever traveling through Corona, California, and find yourself in need of an honest, dependable auto repair shop, J's Garage should be at the top of your list. My family and I had spent a wonderful week at the beach and were driving home to Arizona when our van suddenly started overheating. We had already stopped at a gas station to check the fluids, so we knew this was something that needed to be repaired before we attempted the drive home, and since it was a Saturday afternoon, we started searching for a garage that was open. By chance, we chose J's Garage--and we could not have made a better choice. We pulled in around 10:00am and explained our situation to J. Even though he and his team already had a bay full of cars to work on, they immediately pulled our heavily loaded van into the shop and checked it out. They quickly discovered that the problem was the thermostat, gave us a very reasonable estimate, and told us they expected to have it finished by 1:30. We were thrilled, but honestly, had been preparing ourselves for the possibility that we might have to find a couple of hotel rooms for the weekend because most shops are closed on Sunday. There were five of us, including my 82-year-old mom, and we were all standing outside in the heat. J himself came out, brought extra chairs into the air-conditioned waiting room, and told us to make ourselves comfortable. There was a movie on for us to watch, and he even gave us recommendations for some great Mexican restaurants in the area. We were planning to take him up on that recommendation and grab lunch around noon--but we never got the chance! Jay and his team worked incredibly quickly. Our van was repaired, and we were back on the road by 11:30 am--only about an hour and a half after arriving! J and his lovely wife were incredibly kind and welcoming throughout the entire experience. The repair cost was extremely reasonable, the service was fast and professional, and they treated us like people rather than just another repair order. And, as an added bonus, we got to watch "Back to the Future" while we waited! A vehicle breakdown on a road trip--especially with a fully loaded van, five people, an elderly family member, and a long drive still ahead--could have turned into a complete nightmare. Yes this "rEpAiR" happened a while ago but it took that long for me to come back MULTIPLE TIMES to fix this shooty job and to take it to another mechanic who pointed out what you guys did... and what kind of argument is that? UPDATE: The replacement Fan Shroud with built-in radiator reservoir slipt and started to leak... it was a CHEAP aftermarket part which I had to replace with an OEM part... I would of rather you had asked if I'd pay more to get am OEM part... I had already paid more for an "upgraded clutch" which now is squeaking ‍... DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE 2nd UPDATE - Was just messaged by the business simply to tell me "You should be ashamed of yourself"... like really?! this business messed up and did crappy work with cheap parts, I tried to let them fix it 3 times until I gave up and settled to only find out how bad they did the work after taking it to a real mechanic shop months later for a simple break change (Riverside Metro Auto Group)... and instead of replying to say they would at least try and make things right or put my damn transmission bolts in the correct place I get 1. A none reply trying to disqualify my complaint cause it didn't happen this week 2. A emotional private message to try and Shame me for sharing my bad experience... way to treat the customer you screwed over... hopefully others will take heed and avoid you guys read more

Came here for an unexpected repair that I needed done right away since my car was leaking coolant. I called and spoke to the owners wife and she let me know to come in. I arrived and their son checked me in. They did a diagnostic and let me know my radiator needed to be replaced since it was leaking. I needed this repaired right away since I drive kind of a long distance during the week. They provided me with a reasonable estimate, and they finished the work the same day. The owner was very personable and I appreciated that they could get this done. I will definitely consider getting some other regular maintence done here in the future. read more

Avoid this place--it's a classic bait and switch. They used poor-quality parts, replaced things that didn't need replacing, and even installed the wrong parts. I went in to have my back rotors turned and new pads installed. When I picked up my car, I was shocked to see a bill for brand new pads and rotors all around! They tripled my original bill and acted like I was the problem when I questioned the charges. One month later, I returned because the front disks were making noise when stopping. I was told the front pads were no good. I asked, "Which pads did you replace?" and was told just the front ones. But I pointed out that they had replaced pads all around, so if the front pads were bad, what about the back ones? The mechanic claimed the back pads were fine. What good is a warranty if you can't trust them to do the work properly? A year later, I took my car to a new mechanic who informed me that the pads installed by this shop were semi-metallic, while ceramic pads should have been used. As a result, those incorrect pads had been damaging my brand-new rotors for the past year. Now, I had to replace both the rotors and pads--something that could have been avoided if the right pads were used. I could have had the rotors turned, and I only needed to replace the pads once or twice. Not now! Run from this place, it's everything you think a nightmare shop would be. read more

I wouldn't recommend this shop. I took my 2024 Nissan Z in for a suspension install, and what should have been a straightforward coilover job took over 3 days. On the third day, they told me the car was ready, so I Ubered there, only to find out it was not done. I then had to wait another 8 hours. Even worse, they tried to cover it up by saying the alignment guy did not finish the alignment, which made no sense. The worst part is they somehow scrapped my OEM struts "by accident." They did not charge me for the coilover install, but losing OEM suspension parts on a 2024 Nissan Z is not a small mistake and those parts are not cheap. The steering wheel wasn't even straight afterward, which clearly shows the job wasn't properly finished. On top of that, the woman at the front gave me attitude when I brought up the issues, which made the whole experience even worse. The owner seems like a nice guy, but based on my experience, the service and professionalism were very disappointing. read more

Avoid J's Garage Auto Repair at all costs. I brought my truck here for a simple serpentine belt replacement--a job that should take about an hour. Instead, they kept my vehicle for 6 to 8 hours, while only actually working on it for maybe 1 or 2 hours.Worse out, they completely broke my clean air filter outlet housing nipple while working on the serpentine belt. Instead of being honest, they tried to hide their mistake by literally putting the hose to the hole where the nipple was at and put silicone back on to cover it up, hoping I wouldn't notice.When I confronted the owner, he initially admitted fault and promised to refund me half of what I paid. Now, he is completely backing out of his word. He is trying to claim my previous part was a "junkyard part" to dodge responsibility--even though no other shop has ever touched my truck.They are deceptive, they damage customer property, they lie to cover it up, and they do not stand behind their promises. Save your time, your money, and your vehicle. Go anywhere else but here. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). read more

I came down from the Nor Cal area that is a 6 Hour dr for a dog competition, my fuel pump went out right when I arrived on a Friday late afternoon. I went to get an estimate on my repair for my 2020 Nissan Pathfinder that may need a timing chain. and they were really busy. I guess they do good business!! I understand that! They said we will be right with you. J guess J had to finish what he was woriking on. well he was finished and just sitting behind the desk I guess with his wife Nikki. I don't know if It was because i said, are you going to charge me for the diagnostics? Well about an hour and a half later I had to go pick up my cousin at her dialysis appointment. I told her I have to run. All she said, well stop by sometime, like if I knew them and would stop by for a chat!! At least, she could have said we're too busy, or that's too much work! Terrible experience with this shop. It took them seven months to replace a transmission and window regulator, with constant delays, poor communication, and misleading updates. When the car was finally returned, it was filthy inside and out, and was out of gas. The window still doesn't function properly, and it's leaking differential fluid. They added hundreds of miles to the car, even after the transmission was replaced. With the radio up and both seats way back like young punks like to drive. They left food trash inside, and failed to reinstall all the door screws after "replacing" the window regulator. The owner was aware of my intent to sell the vehicle after it was repaired. Since it's been 11 months now and the car is still leaking fluid, I've lost thousands in car value. Overall, an unprofessional and very frustrating ordeal. Find an honest, professional shop, this isn't it. read more
