Was seeking out an independent shop now that my vehicle has entered its triple-digit mileage era and needs a little more TLC on regular maintenance. Got recommendations to visit Harvey's Autotech as they are a known and reliable shop. I called in for an appointment a few days prior and got to bring my car in for some maintenance work. Came in, they inspected my vehicle, gave their diagnosis and decided on the work to be done. Harvey's is fair-priced and the work seems good. My vehicle's been running very well since. It's a family-owned shop, but also has that big shop feel. The advisors up front are helpful and friendly. I worked with Daniel and he was knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. I brought in my vehicle, I was told I would get charged a certain fee for the inspection and teardown for a vehicle diagnosis of check engine light .I was charged $900 for diagnostics and tear down inspection . I was told by Daniel that the amount would also be applied towards the repair of the vehicle. when I decided not to proceed with the repair due to being estimated a rough $300 hourly rate for labor.We made a few calls and we got quoted from a few places almost $3,000 less than I was being quoted at the shop for labor. This place came well recommended to me by a reliable source. my family and I had just relocated out to the IE. Completely regret brining in my vehicle to the shop .it feels like retaliation due to us not wanting to continue repairs here . UPDATE May 27, 2021 Harvey called and apologized. (I thought he retired but is still involved.) We discussed the brake issue and we are both baffled as to why they failed. But they seem to be okay now. As for the charge for the engine analysis, he stated there should never have been a charge for that and issued a refund to my card. Just happy Harvey is still the reliable, ethical business man I have known all these years. I will continue having my vehicles serviced there. May 26, 2026 Been using Harvy's Auto Tech since 1996. Aways great service. . . Until this last visit. It's time to do the brakes again and get an engine analyst for blue smoke coming from the exhaust. * The brake job was completed. o The brakes failed within 20 miles. The vehicle was towed back to Harvey's and repaired. It has been four days now and seems to be OK. * The analysis on the engine. o I was told the smoke is probably due to rings and/or valve seats. Well, Duh! I already knew that. o They did not pull plugs or do a compression check, or anything else that I am aware of. Tried to sell me on a used or crate engine. o A waste of two hundred bucks for an analysis that didn't happen. * What they couldn't explain is why the dash cam was disconnected. o It records the driver and audio, so... your guess is as good as mine. This is the first time in thirty years that I felt I was at a "Fast Charlie's Repair Shop". Definitely not the Harvey's I am used to. read more

Brought two trucks in at the same time and neither was finished to my satisfactory. They told me I had a misfire in a cylinder and I had to replace the motor. The sales guy even told me they lowered their shop rates that day which was total bs. Don't trust them. Took my truck to another repair shop and they did not find a misfire and they fixed what I needed fixed. Much better experience with someone else. will not take my vehicles back to Harvey's. read more

Harvey's Autotech is an excellent and the most honest auto mechanic business, which I have experienced. The owners and technicians are prompt, courteous and very professional in their business. Upon my request, they inspected my car brakes system and accurately measured the thickness of remaining pads in front and rear. Then, they informed me that I had still plenty pads left and there was no need for replacing my pads or rotors. No Charge! Extremely Disappointed ... I understand Harvey's has been a staple business of the community for many years, but I can't in good conscious recommend them or let what happened to us slip by without a public review. We are a very modest income family with cars that are around 15 years old and generally try to get our auto work done by mechanics doing "weekend work" on the side - frankly that's what our budget can afford; however, we started getting oil changes at Harvey's and thought we should try to also give them other repair business that they recommended on our car, a 2007 Fusion. My husband drives delivery for a living, and this drivetrain repair was highly recommended for safety reasons due to how much he drives. We had the repair done costing a little over $400. During the repair process, it appeared corners were cut (not sure if that was because of time constraint or lack of the mechanic's knowledge) - but an important additional part that we had agreed to replace if it was needed was NOT replaced and we later found out it absolutely should have been done at the same time based on EVERY mechanic forum and AI search we could find. NOT replacing that additional part (which we had pre-authorized) caused other drivetrain pieces to fail rapidly and within a month the car's driving deteriorated. When we came back to them with our concerns and research, we were met with excuses and finger pointing, insinuating it was our car's age and other issues like our tires, not their fault for missing a basic red flag we could find easily ourselves on Google. After doing several test drives (and admitting it was NOT the tires), they were willing to help slightly with the cost of additional repairs but expected us to pay 80% of the additional cost, another $750 which was not due to anything we had done or neglected to authorize. The car is now in worse driving condition after bringing it back the 2nd time for additional diagnosis (vibration and shuttering upon acceleration and braking) to the point my husband does not feel comfortable driving it for work. We will now need to use whatever value is left in the car to help with a down payment on a different car. This car was driving exceptionally well when we brought it to them for the oil change. To say we are disappointed in Harvey's customer service and commitment to quality work is an understatement... It is so hard to find a trustworthy mechanic and I had really hoped Harvey's would be worth the additional costs they charge, but I have to say we are worse off for going there and putting our trust in them. read more

Update: Stay away from this place. After taking my truck to get the air conditioner "fixed", I paid approximately $189 to hopefully get it working again. A few weeks later, it was in fact leaking and needed a new condenser according to Harvey's. That was going to cost another $841ish dollars. I decided to call around and find other places and after my research found that Harvey's was one of the most expensive prices for that work. Needless to say, I decided to take it elsewhere. I was not very happy because I feel that Harvey's auto shop should not be charging more to customers that have already invested their time and money into their company. It would make more sense for them to offer a discounted price on the 2nd work because the customer already spent $$ and it didn't get fixed. I decided it would be best to politely speak to Harvey himself to give an idea for future business practice to offer a discount to customers that were in my situation so they don't feel ripped off after already paying almost $200. Bad idea! Let's just say I was explaining what happened and I was treated with rudeness in many ways: 1. I was interrupted after waiting patiently for my turn. 2. I was not listened to with the intent of understanding, and only for him to defend and reply. 3. I was given passive aggressive apologies that were not genuine at all. They came from a place of anger. *** I want to point out that I was not calling to complain as I was accused, nor did I want something out of this as I was also accused of. I simply wanted to offer a suggestion on business practices that would make customers want to frequent this establishment. That didn't go well due to the owners ego and impolite behavior. All in all, I thought I found a great place that would provide excellent service and a great price to support because of the high Yelp review. I have noticed that their high rating is slowly going down, and after this it should go down again. Now to answer your question Harvey...."What do I want?" A heart felt apology after you reflect and calm down, because that interaction was not okay and I will not allow myself to be treated in such an ill manner by anyone. I will for sure come back here AND recommend this place to anyone who needs auto service. I am someone who just had work done there, and when I had an issue with my car, they thankfully towed me and the car at no cost and was able to get me in and out of there shop within 10 minutes! The tow truck man also raved about how honest this location is. They could've easily told me something else was wrong and charge me more. But they fixed everything that genuinely needed to be fixed and didn't upscale me on anything. They reassured me when my nerves were through the roof. I took my car to Harvey's Autotech (due to positive reviews) on 9/12. I had run diagnostic and told them that the inverter was bad on my hybrid car. They said they would take a look at it tomorrow (9/13). I was fine with that to ensure that the diagnostic codes were correct - that's fair. They didn't say, "Usually those parts are expensive" or "Expect this to be over $2,500 if that needs to be replaced." I didn't hear back so I called on 9/14 - they said they'd get to it later that day. I waited, called again a couple days later and waited some more. I didn't hear back until a week after I dropped off the car (on 9/19) and they said it was the inverter and it would be $5,311.56 to fix it. There were no options to get used, refurbished or new third-party parts (even though these are readily available online). Instead they use genuine Toyota parts which means you might as well bring your car to the dealer for that price. This makes sense for newer cars, but not older ones. Luckily there are better options like Hybrid2Go who offer a LIFETIME warranty on inverter replacements for 3 times less the cost of Harvey's AND they will do it wherever the car is. I asked for the diagnostic fees ($149.92) to be waived, because it took a week for them to get the diagnostics done even though they said they'd do it the next day. They refused saying, they already "Did the work for diagnosing the car." In the end, I towed my car back home and ordered the entire inverter assembly used from ebay for $380 and will install it myself. It will probably take me, a programmer (not a mechanic), around 2 hours of work (faster than Harvey's estimate with "pro's"). So if you're able, go for it yourself. Lying to your customer about how long an estimate will take and then estimating 3X times a competitor is extremely poor business practice. Trust is EVERYTHING when it comes to a mechanic. All these positive reviews are from people who don't know a thing about cars and/or are not willing to look things up online. My engine light came on. Prior to taking Volvo to Harvey's, took it for oil change at well known auto oil change svc. two days before going to Harvey's and had an oil change. Also same day as oil change, had a diagnostic test done. So two day later. I took Volvo to Harvey's autotech. I presented my diagnostic test, was told they cannot use it they had to do another one and will be charge almost two hundred dollars which was non refundable. I decided to have the svc at Harvey's. Two day later got a call from technician stating the problem, which was the exact same as previous test I presented. He Quoted charge for repair, I accepted and requested to go ahead and do the repair even though I felt it cost too much. He called later that day and told me the car was ready, but he stated " I checked and your oil looks dirty. you need an oil change". He didn't know that I had just had one. This person was trying to scam me for extra money for oil change that I didn't need. Spoke to owner, Harvey and he just told me, BS, and if that's the way I feel, I should not have svc at his shop. I'm a female and yes, there was no other way to look at this situation then to think that they were trying to charge me for something I didn't need Be careful going to Harvey's, I was told I needed oil change when I did not. I cant thank Blake enough for saving me thousands of dollars. My 2019 Chevy traverse had a check engine light on for a replacement of the catalytic converter. and Blake recommend I call the dealer and ask in regards to emissions warranty on my vehicle. Called the dealership and indeed I have warranty coverage for the replacement. He could have just taken my money and he gave his opinion to check with the dealership first before bringing it in and I am so thankful I did. Thank you again Blake. I have a 1990 Ford Aerostar. It has been running great until it wouldn't start. I got it towed to Harvey's and they told me it was an ignition control module. They fixed it. I got it back. Drove it to a few places in town. Parked it at my house and it wouldn't start up again. Had to get it towed to Harvey's again on my expense. They told me they installed a faulty ignition control module,they fixed it but now my car is misfiring. I'm not mechanically inclined and don't know if they could be related but I barely made it home from Harvey's and my van is now not drivable as it struggles to stay on. I've been to Harvey's six times now. I've been overall pleased with their services however, I've had to come back to them with the same issues multiple times because it seemingly wasn't done right the first time. I've lost a lot of time, money, and my van was gone for about a month all together for a gas tank leak and ignition control module. It can very well be that my van is old, however I wonder if Harvey's work has put me in a worse situation. read more

Thank the heaven above! An honest mechanic has arrived! not sure how I am so late to hear about Harvey Aurotech but I am glad I did. A friend recommended his services to me. I had squeaky brakes, possible axel issues and a few minor things. ( that was my diagnosis). I made an appointment and dropped off my 09 Toyota Corolla. Within a few hours I received a call back that my brakes were fine and just dirty. Also, I had a license plate bulb out and my boots : axel needed replacement. The team quoted a little under $1000 which was more than reasonable. Received my car back about 3 days later and has been great since. I'm not very trusting of mechanic's in general (been ripped off/lied to many times), so I'm very happy to say I have found a shop that I trust, and will use from now on for all my auto-repair needs. The prices are fair and reasonable, and all of the staff helpful and kind. They seem to really care about folks and all of the repairs seem to be top notch! After I was dropped off to retrieve my car, I decided to have one more thing done (replace the spark plugs which I originally told them not to do), so I'd need to leave the car until the next day. I didn't want to call my b/f back to the shop to pick me up as he wasn't feeling well. The shop was getting ready to close, and the owner Harvey offered to give me a ride home even though it was out of his way. It's weird to say I actually liked dealing with mechanics, and having my car fixed, but these guys are great! ALL of the staff are just wonderful. My AC in my 1997 Silverado was blowing hot air so I took it to Harvey's Autotech to get it fixed. They changed the condenser and told me it is fixed and blowing cold air. I picked up my vehicle, drove it to work and after 30 minutes it starred blowing hot air again. I took my 1999 Corvette into Harvey's to get the air conditioner fixed. They did diagnostics and determined it needed a new compressor as the seals had been leaking. They replaced the compressor and later determined they needed to remove the water pump as well to change the compressor and so did have to charge me a bit more for the water pump gaskets. But they called and explained it in advance, which was appreciated. read more

HONEST MECHANICS!!! Do yourself a favor and bring your cars here. My car was overheating and instead of charging me an arm and a leg, they were honest with me and told me all I needed were new radiator caps. Another shop could've easily taken advantage of me with this kind of issue and would've cost me anywhere from $500-$3000. I paid $150. Thank you Harvey's!! As a little kid I remember my dad taking our vehicles to Harvey's Autotech for maintenance and repairs. I remember going with him as he was always pleased with their service. My dad has always said they were honest and extremely professional and best in town. Now about 30 years later being 42 Im taking my vehicles there with my son. The first time taking my son to Harvey's was emotional being I remember my dad taking me when I was a kid. The second I walked through that door I was greeted with a big smile assuring me I was going to be taken care of as my son was handed a toy car from Harvey himself. I have never not once had a bad experience there and either has my dad and the work they provide is superior with honesty and respect towards their customers and I value their hard work. Every time I walk in I am thanked for my service to our country as a veteran and I am always leaving feeling I have a new car! I will never take any car anywhere else.. Took my truck in for the 5,000 mile maintenance and they provided great service. It was quick and staff was very welcoming and friendly.

I had a AC leak on my Silverado, contacted a few places and then found this place and contacted them, they were able to get me next business day in the morning and quick to find the leak, they ordered the parts needed and I picked up my truck next morning with AC fully working. Not to mention that other places wanted to charge me 2.5x the amount that this places charged me. The only thing I was unhappy was the fact they didn't use a seat protection while operating the vehicle and left my seat somehow dirty. Overall I honestly recommend them to anyone.
