Service, food and ambiance is still as good as ever. Love the dishes here. Happy to see there's a lunch option now.

Visited Raas on our second night in Lewes after our ferry got in. We came pretty late, maybe around 7:45pm so it was definitely starting to clear out. When you walk up, there's pretty lighting outside which I imagine would be nice if it wasn't 45 degrees and windy. The restaurant is in one of the big houses you see along the streets and it's been converted into a restaurant but still has the bones of the house. You can tell someone once lived in it, which is really neat. We had a waitress who was insanely nice and helpful. I can't recall her name but she was everything. She guided us through the menu and helped with my food allergy and somewhat picky eating habits. She also chit chatted with us at the end and answered some questions about the area. We ended up getting the chili olive naan (pictured) as an appetizer and she recommended we go light on the chili based on our likes/dislikes, and this was good for us. I ordered the game hen for my entree and it was plated beautifully (pictured). The green sauce was surprisingly so good and I wish I had more. Everything was cooked perfectly. For dessert, we had the mousse (pictured), which she assured us was allergy friendly and checked twice. It was very unique and light yet filling. I'm surprised I liked this place because I don't typically love Indian food but this place made me want more! Definitely recommend coming here.

We had such an amazing time at Raas. The staff took care of us so well - we got to sample the Mango Lassi, and Lentils (which was so nice because it's impossible to decide!) The bartender was amazing and recommended all the best stuff. Can honestly say 10/10 for anything you order. Highly recommend the Swordfish appetizer, Chili Cheese Garlic Naan, and the Cinnamon Chicken Tikka! We will absolutely be back!

We came here with another couple for dinner on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday and the overall experience was great! The food was amazing Indian food and kind of unexpected for Lewes. All of our appetizers were great, especially the cauliflower. I ordered the chicken tikka masala for my entree and it was a really good version of your standard Indian dish. My husband's lamb shank was also really good and flavorful and huge! The restaurant was super accommodating and helpful in getting dessert out for our friend's birthday, too and made it a nice experience and a bit of a surprise!

    Save room for dessert.

Best Indian Restaurant I've ever been to in Maryland and Delaware. The food is amazing and the service wonderful. Beautiful dining room. We will definitely be back.

The interior is beautiful and cozy. The staff (waiter's name was Jonathan) were so kind and took extra time to explain everything to us. They made mutter paneer for me, which was so sweet given that it wasn't on the menu. We had paratha, naan, and roti with our meals and they were all amazing. The cooks prioritized making sure we loved the food, and we did! We are from DC and have been spoiled by the great Indian food there, which set a higher standard for us, and we feel super lucky to have such an amazing restaurant in Lewes. Every single thing was perfect!

She gave us some veg momo because they didn't have enough for us to order a whole set but my husband had wanted momo so she was kind enough to make some for him to try. My husband liked the veg momo and appreciated her kind gesture. Food: We got the chili chicken momo and paneer tikka masala. Chili chicken momo was tasty. The paneer tikka didn't taste like the general tikka flavor that we were expecting. It was little on the expensive side for what it was. Regardless, food was good...we would come back for the momo.

We paid 4 dollars for 2 waters and they only had one bottle of water and then convinced my boyfriend to get a "masala sprite" instead of a refund. We spent $50 for 3 items. The Tandoori fries which are labeled as their "most popular" came with a few fries, barely any toppings, NO sauce, and just 3 large whole pieces of chicken with the bone. It was pink in the middle of one of the pieces. We switched our order to go after we received the Pani Puri. The service also left something to be desired, especially as the only two people there. Staff was also eating food in the same area the food was being cooked. We were super excited to try a new place and quickly regretted it.

From the moment you arrive, the experience can feel like a punishment rather than a meal. The ridiculously long wait, disappointing food, tiny portions, and outrageous prices combine to create an experience that is incredibly frustrating. If a restaurant is going to charge customers this much, it should at least make the visit enjoyable. First, the wait is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody wants to stand around forever just to get a table or receive food. You arrive hungry, expecting a meal, and instead you get an extended lesson in patience that you never asked for. Time is valuable, and wasting it sitting around waiting for a restaurant to do what it is supposed to do is infuriating. By the time the food finally arrives, the excitement has practically disappeared. Then comes the food, which can make the wait feel even more insulting. After waiting forever, customers expect something delicious and memorable. Instead, they can end up staring at a meal that leaves them wondering why they bothered. Food at a restaurant should be something to look forward to, not something you force yourself to finish because you already paid for it. When the food is terrible, the long wait feels even worse. The portions are another slap in the face. After waiting so long and paying so much, customers should receive enough food to actually feel satisfied. Instead, small portions can leave people feeling like they just paid for an appetizer when they expected a real meal. It is especially frustrating when the food is already expensive. A restaurant should not make customers feel like they need to order half the menu just to leave without being hungry. Finally, there is the price. Indian Sandalwood can be incredibly expensive, which would be easier to accept if the service, food, and portions were excellent. But when customers are dealing with a painfully long wait, disappointing food, and tiny portions, a high bill feels like the final insult. At that point, the experience is not just disappointing--it feels like a complete waste of money. With all these problems combined, Indian Sandalwood can be a restaurant that customers leave angry, hungry, and wondering why they ever walked through the door.
