Raas was such a great find in Lewes. I ordered from the vegan menu and was especially happy with how many genuinely good vegan options they had. Everything was flavorful, beautifully presented, and the patio was perfect because Kallie could hang out with me while I ate. The portions were large enough that I was able to take home leftovers. Unfortunately, Kallie had other plans and when I jumped out of the car to take a quick picture, she ate every last bit. Apparently she also gives Raas five stars. I really want to like this restaurant...we were here a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. We came recently and it just wasn't the same. The server didn't know about specials that are offered on line. Cocktails were good, appetizers were hits and misses as well as entrees. It was the entrees where I have a problem; I orders the scallops ( had them last time and they were fabulous), this time over cooked and rubbery. There was a chicken dish thats pretty common , which was so dry but the cinnamon chicken was more tender. ( I believe one dish had breast the other was thighs, that explains the dryness). We stopped here for dinner on a busy Saturday evening. The food and drinks were fabulous and the service was friendly and efficient. The Spinach and kale chat was delicious with a wonderful crunch but the oysters with an Indian Minnonette was unusual and exquisite. For main course we share the saffron rice and duck breast. As an avid Indian food lover I was very pleased with our visit here. Excellent service from our waiter, he was awesome and pretty much taking care of the whole restaurant by himself. The food was fine, I've had equally as good if not better many times (and the dal was not the life changing event it was portrayed as), but no real complaints about it. My issue was the bartender and his relentless upselling of everything. He gave off a used car salesman vibe and I really resent being made to feel bad because I didn't want an appetizer or dessert. His "do you want plain or garlic naan with that" implied the dish I'd ordered came with naan, when I inquired he said no, it doesn't come with naan, "I thought you might want some". Visited Raas on our second night in Lewes after our ferry got in. We came pretty late, maybe around 7:45pm so it was definitely starting to clear out. When you walk up, there's pretty lighting outside which I imagine would be nice if it wasn't 45 degrees and windy. The restaurant is in one of the big houses you see along the streets and it's been converted into a restaurant but still has the bones of the house. You can tell someone once lived in it, which is really neat. We had a waitress who was insanely nice and helpful. I can't recall her name but she was everything. She guided us through the menu and helped with my food allergy and somewhat picky eating habits. She also chit chatted with us at the end and answered some questions about the area. We ended up getting the chili olive naan (pictured) as an appetizer and she recommended we go light on the chili based on our likes/dislikes, and this was good for us. I ordered the game hen for my entree and it was plated beautifully (pictured). The green sauce was surprisingly so good and I wish I had more. Everything was cooked perfectly. For dessert, we had the mousse (pictured), which she assured us was allergy friendly and checked twice. It was very unique and light yet filling. I'm surprised I liked this place because I don't typically love Indian food but this place made me want more! Definitely recommend coming here. read more

I visited this restaurant on 8/22/2026, and for a restaurant that is supposedly a 5-star establishment, the level of service and cleanliness was extremely disappointing. There were dirty, messy dishes left on tables from previous customers while multiple employees were standing around talking instead of taking care of the dining area. That is unacceptable for any restaurant, but especially one that claims to provide a 5-star experience. The management was just as disappointing as the staff. The lack of leadership and accountability was very noticeable. When employees are standing around while the dining area is left messy, it raises serious questions about how the restaurant is being managed and what standards management is actually enforcing. What was even more disappointing was the overall lack of professionalism, work ethic, and basic consideration shown by some of the employees. A restaurant's staff should be attentive, aware of their surroundings, and willing to keep the establishment clean and welcoming for customers. I expected much better from a restaurant with such a high reputation. The food may be one thing, but customer service, cleanliness, professionalism, and management are just as important. If this is supposed to be a 5-star restaurant, the entire operation needs to reflect that standard. Ps what's even sad is the food is amazing, just the environment. read more

We came here with another couple for dinner on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday and the overall experience was great! The food was amazing Indian food and kind of unexpected for Lewes. All of our appetizers were great, especially the cauliflower. I ordered the chicken tikka masala for my entree and it was a really good version of your standard Indian dish. My husband's lamb shank was also really good and flavorful and huge! We reviewed the menu and had questions.....Jason was the server, bartender and was amazing. The cuisine was fabulous. We had the goat, butter chicken and lamb small plate. All were far over expectations and presentation was excellent. Paired with a good beer (RAR Nanticoke Nectar and Mango Carte), the meal was exquisite. The interior is beautiful and cozy. The staff (waiter's name was Jonathan) were so kind and took extra time to explain everything to us. They made mutter paneer for me, which was so sweet given that it wasn't on the menu. We had paratha, naan, and roti with our meals and they were all amazing. The cooks prioritized making sure we loved the food, and we did! Outstanding. We eat out very (too) frequently and at some very nice restaurants and have a favorite Indian place back home we like occasionally. Raas stands out as exceptional. It is a lovely atmosphere- the outdoor porch is very elegant and inside it is a refined Victorian house. it was exceptionally clean. I loved that they have fresh tablecloths (not hastily cleaned bare tables) and a window to see their fresh orderly kitchen, clearly a point of pride. We noticed the chef wiping the grill area down frequently. Presentation was beautiful. The drinks are excellent including the "drunken mango lassi" And nonalcoholic lassi served with minced nuts and mint beautifully garnished. Appetizers were unbelievable. The cauliflower was like no other- you must try! The cheese and chili naan - oh my! Those were our favorites but the samosas and spinach/kale were also great. The rack of lamb (even for the picky), tikka masala, and briyani were excellent. Service was also exceptional and friendly. They brought out the rack of lamb to plate it specially at the table, an elegant touch. Overall HIGHLY recommend for a family dinner, business lunch or an intimate date. We had such a terrible experience from the very moment we stepped at their door. We did a walk-in with kids and they said there is a wait, which was fine with us considering we we did a walk in. We decided to wait since it was late and kids were hungry and sleepy and it was getting chilly outside. So we waited inside and the receptionist straight away came and told us we need to wait outside as we are on their way. This was to me very rude as we had pretty young kids and we were just thrown outside in the cold. Next - when we got seated our group was split into two. They had empty tables and even after requesting them the chef and their staff members did not accommodate. There was no serving spoons provided, our request to make an item less spicy was also rejected (again we had kids) so we just wanted the lentils to be mild, but it was a NO. For the exorbitant amount of money they charge for their food, we at-least expected a decent meal together as a family with a good service. read more

Let me tell you, I was not disappointed and the friendly staff and chef himself curated a remarkable experience that I will not forget! From the moment we arrived, we were immediately seated and greeted by warm welcome staff members that were sincere and authentic. Our party started off with the cucumber mint mojito, mango lassi, orange cardamom mojito and spicy mango margarita for drinks. All were extremely refreshing and poured to perfection. For appetizers, we ordered the cauliflower manchurian, chili cheese garlic naan and the honey chili water chestnut. Our favorite was the chili cheese garlic naan but all were filled with exquisite flavors that are unique and make all of the hype worth it! The signature Dal Lalla Musa was my absolute favorite and one of the best indian entrees I've had in America! Overall, I cannot rave higher about how phenomenal my experience was at Raas. We had a whole fish and lamb shank and the fish was so good that we ate the whole thing just between two people. We already plan on coming back next year just for that! The only reason it's not five stars for me is because the lamb wasn't totally fall of the bone (which was really okay) and it wasn't as seasoned as I would have liked. Staff was very friendly and when told I tend to order the whole menu they gave me choices for what table I preferred and offered me a table in front of the open kitchen, very nice. We ordered spicy mango margaritas, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, mushroom masala, and the star of the show the whole red snapper. Spicy mango margarita is on the sweet side and I love that, it had a nice kick from the fresh red chili bit. Garlic naan was delicious, nice and fluffy and crispy as well. Dipped in the masala made a wonderful pair, but I enjoyed it on its own. Chicken tikka masala you can't go wrong with, it was delicious with all the right amounts of seasonings. The mushroom masala was good as well with more of a coconut aromatic. The red snapper!!!! THE RED SNAPPER!!!! The red snapper was one of the BEST dishes I've had and I'm a serious foodie! This was a market price item and I see the Karen's on here with the negative reviews... first off let me be sure to break this down for the Karen's... the red snapper comes as the whole fish, it's usually 2-3.5 pounds which would be more than enough to feed 2! We had a 2 pound snapper for $120 which is not a bad price at all beings you are at a fine dining restaurant and all that it comes with. If you want a cheap fish meal go to Applebees and get the frozen salmon. This dish was very well worth it! We got the hot garlic sauce with it and it came piping hot while our waiter Curtis carved it for us it was steaming and the aromatics had us salivating. We frequent Rasikas *(NOT RAAS) in their DC locations. This place *(RAAS which I never associated with Rasikas) doesn't come close to their *(Rasikas) flavors. Saag Paneer was sweet with no flavor. The Chicken Tikka Masala had more sweet/spicy flavor but tasted and resembled more of a Butter Chicken. My 14-year old had a non-spicy Tandoori Salmon and he said the textured was off. This was not fresh salmon, it was frozen salmon and cooked dry. Fresh salmon is still quite an oily fish. Garlic Naan Bread was neither puffy nor crispy but chewy. Asked if we would receive rice with all meals, not the case. Not impressed. $126 food bill will be better spent at another establishment. read more

I think it's safe to say that when visiting Sussex County, it can be very difficult finding traditional ethnic foods. After all, it's not the city. As the year round beach community grows, it's nice to find more diverse food options available. We arrived before our reservation and were welcomed to the bar to wait for friends. We had the spinach and kale chat, papadam (pricey for $15), duck, GG chicken, and finished with pistachio ice cream. I feel like this restaurant is trying for high end Indian, but there are touches which are a bit casual like the plastic menu and service (which the server was totally fine and nice), to command these prices.
