Having enjoyed, at home, on a number of occasions, take-away dinners from Indian Aroma, my wife and I decided to go there recently, to eat in. Once again, we enjoyed ourselves, thoroughly! It was a truly ENJOYABLE dining experience! Gracious and attentive service, pleasant and relaxing ambience, beautifully served dishes, and our choices were exactly what we'd expected, from our past carry-out experiences, them to be: excellent! This place looked so decent. From tablecloth every little thing looked clean. Quiet surrounding. Staff were so polite and pleasant. Chef himself brings out the food and introduce each dish properly and what to pair with them. Upon arriving they offered papadam with 3 sides. That I have never seen in an Indian restaurant before. All the food from start to finish was delicious. Drinks also so good. Definitely recommend their mango lassi. We stopped here on our way home from a trip. Went with family and friends on July 4 weekend year ago around closing time. One of the best indian food i have tried in the state. Everything was delicious. We are frequent Indian food diners with many years of experience in big city restaurants. This was our first visit to Indian Aroma..... "How can superior authentic Indian cuisine be found in Salisbury?" We walked into the generic strip mall entrance highly skeptical. At lunch time on a weekday, there were too few customers to instill confidence. We stayed anyway and: Wow! Our initial impression was wrong - dead wrong! FOOD In DELMARVA: land of crab cakes and fried chicken - this place stands out for being both different and surprisingly good. Photos of our food tell the story better than our words. We tried a good variety to get an overview. Everything was top-notch. Portions were generous for us two seniors - we took most of our meals home. BTW - leftovers remain delicious reheated at home! SERVICE Attentive and professional. We especially appreciated learning this was a family business and family members were present. We never had to signal for more water, we were asked if our meals were satisfactory and/or if the experience could be better. We could think of no improvements - that is surprising for us. AMBIANCE Starched white tablecloths and napkins, subdued music, and fragrant aromas. You could probably grab a quick lunch here, but it seemed the kind of place you'd want to linger and talk. I'd take clients here for a business meal, or family for a special event and feel confident in a quality experience. Romantic too if you want an exotic experience. Restrooms were clean and accessible. Parking was ample and free. The day of our visit, a new reporter and camera person were interviewing staff. The atmosphere was very elegant, well lit, aromatic, and welcoming. Tables were pre-set with white linens, appetizer plates, silverware, and water glasses. The server was prompt & had others checking in & making sure we weren't ever in need of anything! All of the dishes had a choice of spice level; mild, medium, hot. medium was just the perfect amount of spice for me! everything was very well flavored & hot upon arrival! the server was great in helping us decide on our dishes & gave recommendations. we'd definitely recommend to others and will be back! thank you! read more

I'm not that keen on going back to Salisbury to visit family. But at least there's some great world cuisine in town now. Some places are merely good by Salisbury standards (Teera Thai, based on what I've had so far), but some, like Indian Aroma (what a name!) are excellent Indian cuisine not just for Salisbury but for anywhere in the U.S., perhaps even matching the best I've had in the Toronto area, which is impressive indeed. Great service; constant water refills. The fish curry was delicious and the lamb palak was perhaps our favorite. We also had a very nice gobi Manchurian (crunchy cauliflower, in an Indo-Chinese style) and a very good palak paneer. My only criticism, though a very mild one: what's up with the silly bathroom signs? Are they left over from a previous restaurant inhabitant, perhaps a seafood joint? On the other hand, I suppose they're interestingly memorable despite being somewhat puerile. read more

Great addition to the SBY food scene. Indian options were lacking and Indian Aroma fills that vacancy with aplumb! I was greeted warmly upon arrival. Complimentary papadum was offered for the table. I went with the veg samosas for my app, chicken palak (similar to saag) and plain naan. I was asked the spice level and I went with mild. The samosas came out hot and fast. They were delicious and carried a bit of a zing. If you are used to more bland filling, this will surprise you. My entree came out shortly thereafter and was delivered on a cart! The palak was very flavorful. I wish the chicken pieces were cut smaller, but that was my only qualm. The naan came five pieces to the order which was more than enough. I took off a star for their lack of an informative website and a menu that featured incredibly tiny print for the description of the dishes. I recommend Indian Aroma and I will be back the next time I'm in town! read more

I walked in and was immediately brought back to a small restaurant we visited in serampore India that we visited in 2023. I wanted to try a couple things so we got 3 dishes and 2 orders of naan bread. We ate family style sharing the dishes, rice and naan. Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken vindaloo, Paneer Tikka Masala, naan bread, white rice. He asked us if we wanted spicy or not. We liked spicy and he went with medium spice which was not overpowering. The mango lassi looked amazing and I went with the hot chai. Delish way to end the meal sipping on chai and talking. Will be going again! read more

Absolutely outstanding! The dining room is a great place for date night but still casual enough you feel like you can grab lunch with friends. Service is very friendly. Now the food. THE FOOD. Everything was so delicious it's hard to pick a favorite. Everything is served family style which is great if you are like us and maybe are not as familiar with Indian cuisine and want to try everything and share with the group. We ordered the veg assortment appetizer, chicken biryani and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. I visited Ocean City this summer with my friends and family. We were heading back to DC and we visited this restaurant. My friend's mother and grandmother are vegetarian as well as my girlfriend. So, we ordered all the vegetarian items from the menu. We loved every item from the menu, from appetizer to main course to dessert. No one will believe me, but I have visited many Indian cuisines in the USA and some of them are serving mango lassi, mango juice, and mango shakes made from pulp. But The Indian Aroma served us Mango Ras made from fresh Mangoes. This was outstanding and delicious. The service is also good. They served us each item when we needed it. In some restaurants, the main course comes before the appetizer arrives. servers were so polite and understanding. We reached there 1 hour before the kitchen closed. Also, there were few other tables occupied. Even with this tight situation, The team managed to serve each table without any trouble. By the end, we even talked to the chef and thanked him for this delicious food. I would personally suggest every person who loves Indian food must visit this place. read more

I went to this restaurant with some friends for a going away dinner. Though the service was a little slow we had pleasant meal... or so we thought. I ordered the butter chicken and at 3am I had to see it again as I was awakened by the sudden and violent urge to throw up. I was nauseous and had a headache for the following two days. I asked my friends if anyone else felt sick. It turns out that my friend who also ordered the butter chicken that night was also very sick. read more

1/31/25- ordered $56 in food. They forgot to include my mango lassi. Had my wife waiting for over 15 minutes when she went back and showed them the receipt that they forgot to include the mango lassi. The man at the counter eventually reached into the fridge and gave her one after she had to ask him. He did not offer even a word of apology. Very poor customer service. How is this place not crowded with people?!! It's amazing. My table tried and shared 7 different dishes and loved every single one. Yum.
