Been here a few times. This round picked up some really good blackened mahi tacos. Good beer selection on tap as well.

I suggest calling the restaurant before you go. It might be closed at this time. The food quality varies according to what you order.

Just barely seared. My husband had scallops and oh my, were they ever delicious! I would pass on the potatoes. They're super heavy with their Barada sauce. And the artichoke dip had very little to no artichoke taste and it was way too thick! So I wouldn't do those, but the positives outweigh the negatives. Their old-fashioned was excellent, and their wine menu is great! The entire experience was worthy of repeating! It's fun to find good, fun dining experiences in Seneca.

The sauces for the steak were excellent. The steak was good, and while it can be fun to cook your dinner yourself right there at your table I think I'd do something different next time. I found the Bravas potatoes sauce a little too reminiscent of a zesty ketchup style dressing, they are not for me. I had two old fashioneds. A smoked version , which was very flavorful (albeit it pricey as I opted for a higher end bourbon) and a lavender old fashioned, which had a few fruit notes. I preferred the smoked. Our server was great and helped us choose a quick dessert so we could get things moving for my daughter, we got the fondue which she very much liked.

Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area!

Nothing was posted on their website mentioning this fact. We arrived to a deserted winery and after walking around to see what was happening, we were met by a gentleman who worked there, but said that they close every year for Thanksgiving week to visit their family in California, which is where we travelled from. On top of this, a couple weeks earlier, we met their daughter (Jordan Fiorentini, winemaker at Epoch Wines in Paso Robles, CA) and told her that we were going to visit Frogtown during Thanksgiving week, and she also didn't say anything about them being closed. But why on earth have us sample them when they aren't available for purchase? Oh, I know. Join their Citizens Wine Club and get them shipped. And that's the entire focus. They pushed the club to the point we were uncomfortable. Also, the educational push was much. Georgia grapes. California grapes. Swish. Don't swish. Aerate. Don't aerate. Don't refrigerate whites. Yada yada yada. Let folks enjoy their wine any dang way they want. Don't judge. There's no right or wrong. Food? Expensive, but excellent. A sandwich is large enough to split. But there's a $6 split fee because they double the side salad and chips to two plates. That's a mandatory up charge. The small cheese plate was ample. Wines & Food? 5 stars. The hype & push took away the joy of the experience. Unfortunate. These are superb wines. Enjoy them. Just avoid sitting at the bar and the lecture that comes with it.

It's not super easy to find! Dahlonega has lots of interesting twists and turns and back alley shops and some shops blended in so well with other places, that a random door opens up to more unique experiences. So, that's how we found this place. We were waiting to get our names in for Bourbon Street Grille, and this random door behind us boasted wine tasting. I thought it was just a one room deal behind us. When you see the door and the shop, you'll fully understand. If you like wine, this is worth it and a MUCH better deal than the Wine Festival (which is what we came for). It's not a big place and technically only has about 8 seats at the bar for tasting. Thankfully, it seemed all the festival goers didn't know about this place (bc it's totally a Harry Potter hidden type of deal) so we got 4 seats. The kids roamed around the shop while we tried wine. The flights are $12/$16 based off the wines you want. They have white, red, blended and rose. Oh, check in on Yelp and receive one free taste of any wine (I used mine)!!! I did the Rose, Merlot, Vidal Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and the Petit Manseng. Loved the Merlot (had a spicy after taste) the most! Then the Pinot Grigio. The Petit Manseng is their strongest wine but was my least favorite. However, I tasted the Trillium from someone else's in our group and LOVED IT. We ended up buying a bottle of Mtn Harvest Red plus the Apfelwein (the lady described it so well and made us want to get a bottle). I can honestly say I had such a buzz from the flight that I stopped drinking when we went to go eat. The wine was really good and certainly hit, so be careful! Totally worth checking this place out, if you can find it!!!

Everything about the restaurant was so special, amazing location for a sunset dinner, perched high above the Blue Ridge Mountains - amazing views. The best thing is if you stay at the Skyline Lodge, it's just steps away from your room and that comes in super handy when it's brunch time! We were fortunate enough to enjoy these two meals; dinner & brunch with our kids (who are foodies too) and they are now huge fans of Oak Steakhouse. They said it was the best steak they ever had, you can't go wrong with the Filet! The menu is not huge but really has all of the dishes you would want for an amazing dinner. Plenty of options, even if you don't eat steak. Amazing sides to accompany each dish and you must start with the bread, which is made in-house. I went with a dish I have not tried before and it did not disappoint, Venison Wellington while my wife tried the trout. I will let the photos do the talking. They also pour an amazing espresso martini by the way and to finish you have to try the chocolate cake, trust me! We also want to give a shot out to all of the staff and servers; their attention to detail and overall service was outstanding! Seems to be the case at all Indigo Road establishments, they really know hospitality. We cannot recommend Oak Steakhouse enough, even if you're not staying there but in the Highlands of NC make sure you give them a visit.

The portions are generous so to-go bags are a common sight. Oak is not inexpensive, but clearly the value is there if you are looking for a proper steakhouse experience near Highlands.
