After spending 3 days trying to negotiate and researching their 2002 Audi TT and learning towards the end that the audi had a full front end collision that included front, right, left, hood and quarter panel - this place wouldn't budge on an already over market price vehicle of $2500!! That's not only BS, ITS UNETHICAL. My advice do not do business here. Wish I read the reviews first, saved me some time I could have spent with a legitimate facility. Pretty sure this is a scam shop. They sold me a car and had it "inspected" but it was low on every single fluid, needed an oil change, and four brand new tires, plus a spare. The check engine light came on the day after I drove it off the lot. I set up auto payments but they weren't taken out and my vehicle was repossessed and now they are making me wait two weeks to even tell me what I owe on the vehicle or how to get it back. They never even attempted to call me or email me to let me know my payments were behind. This all feels so scammy. And it sucks because I'm a single mom who just needed a reliable vehicle at a good price. Now I'm out $3000 for a car plus an additional $700 for other work required after purchasing the car to make it drivable. There is a reason R & D Motors has been in business for so long. My wife and I discovered why. We purchased a Mini Cooper for her, and just recently a used Chevy truck. The Mini had a VANOS failure shortly after leaving the dealership. We were headed home and got about 20 miles away, and had to pull over. I called them and they were quick to tow the Mini and repair the faulty components free of charge. The truck had a few issues on the day I picked it up, and yet again, they were quick to resolve those issues so that I was satisfied. I highly recommend this place. After buy my car, three months age, I still have not received the license and registration. I went in to the dealership to inquire multiple times and every time was given a different reason why. During the test drive I was told that certain repairs would be included on the cars. The dealership did not honor the agreement. So my experience was excellent. I have never bought from a used car place before. I was apprehensive. I did lots of research on the place. And as all, found some good and bad reviews. I went to BBB and found no complaints filed. First I reached out via their e-mail to discuss the car. Everything was favorable so I decided to go onsite. Ray was an easy going gentleman that allowed me to take the car for a spin. There was absolutely no pressure. I looked at the car in/out. I was even told I could bring my own mechanic. I did not. After a bit, I elected to make that cash purchase. Yes, cash brings with it an additional discount!!! I went to their main location on 53rd and met with Mike. He had me out of there in less than 45 minutes. Again no pressure, no additional let me sell you this or that. While I can presume most purchasers, as myself, sign the Buy in As Is Condition, from a legal standpoint, the dealer doesn't have to take any further action. We're sold a vehicle in as is condition. However, Mike advised that if I noted any issues within the next week to not hesitate to contact him. And I can say, I noted nothing. I went to PepBoys for an oil change and had them check it out. They called me in under the car and told me I had all sorts of oil/transmission leaks and that I was in the thousands for repairs. Yes, it did alarm me. Fact is, in the 3 days it sat in my driveway, there was not a single drop of fluid. I won't go on about my thoughts after that with PepBoys, that's a separate issue. Within a couple of days I contacted Mike, he asked me to bring it in and they would check it out. I arranged leaving the car. And I was concerned that this could go into weeks, months, etc. I provided him the details of what PepBoys found. BUT within a few days not only was I kept informed of what they found, but of them wrapping it up and returning it to me. (Drop off a Saturday and pick up on Tuesday.) Note, the findings were not as treacherous as PepBoys led me to believe. I have since monitored the car for leaks again. It drives as smooth as when I got it. Mike (R&D) kept his word and took care of my car purchase. I talked to Rosey on the line and she was quite courteous and responsive to whatever I needed. In my opinion, my purchase was smooth, a great price and their customer service was honorable. This place is highly recommended. Bravo zulu for taking care of me!!! read more

I was sold a car with a bad headlight, no problem. I bought a breaker and it started working. For about 3 weeks I drove the car less than a mile per day with no problems. I drove a long distance and my car almost caught fire on the freeway. after pulling into the nearest mechanic shop they told me I had absolutely no coolant. According to "the owner" this was my fault, because I should have noticed a temperature warning. I had no warning on my dashboard, probably because the sensor was disabled or no longer working (just like the headlight). According to "the owner" I also went about things the wrong way for posting my previous review. Basically I was punished for writing a review. according to "the owner" it was also my fault because I should have noticed the problem sooner. (Because it takes less than 1 mile of driving to heat your engine.) meanwhile it takes them almost 1 month to get my pricing on an engine. I got the good old "military discount" after returning from a deployment and now I am financially ruined because of this dealership. Great job taking care of soldiers R & D. Now I don't have a means of travel to make it to my next deployment. read more

When I saw my VW Beetle online on their website I knew that I wanted it. I purchased the car with 1500 down and they let me drive the car off the lot. They had only bought my car 3 days prior to my first visit. There were multiple issues with the car... Unwarranted and warranted issues that resulted in signing a ''we owe you'' contract stating that my check engine light was on amongst other things that they needed to fix... More issues started coming about only two to three months into my contract with R&D Motors after I have expressed my concern over the phone and in person none of my needs have been met with this car and getting it squared away to zero so that I can have a reliable transportation car. Upon me expressing my concerns about my car the staff seem to be agitated which resulted in them calling the cops on me because I demanded to speak with the owner. At this point I still haven't spoke with the owner there seem to be no options into getting my car on the road or moving forward with this process as I am[ still paying my car notes to them till this day. There has been absolutely 0 steps taken to remedy the situation. I was told the owner was not in and i would have to come back when they call me to let me know that he is in the office. For these reasons totally unspecified with all of the other mess that happened on my visit, is what drove me to write a review followed by videos. I took the steps to buy the car that I wanted to own. This car lot has made it a nightmare situation. The customer service here is very poor and I pray that nobody else get caught up in this kind of situation with these people. I just want to speak to the owner at this point. Needless to say, my car still doesn't have tags and is now undrivable in their shop. They arr trying to make me pay for repairs they never fixed in the first place. They're nice enough to your face, but they sell crap just like all the other roadside dealers around Austin. Been two months and I'm still waiting on the plates... EDIT: I almost forgot! It's also leaking oil. UPDATE: Took it in for the oil leak, and several other things needed repair. Today's total came to $1065.15 and there's still another $500 repair that needs to be done within the next six months or so. Please do not judge the business by the appearance on the inside or outside, yes it could use a cleaning and organizing but these guys still run a great business despite the appearance. They let me test drive the car I was thinking about purchasing for three days. They were friendly and non-pushy. Rob was respectable and helpful and Rosy was always straight forward and on her toes. I ended up getting the car and immediately the check engine light came on. My heart dropped to my stomach, but Rob honored his verbal "30 day warranty" and I took the car in to get the torque converter and transmission fluid replaced. They let me borrow one of their cars while it was being fixed. I am currently in the market for a daily drive truck. R&D had listed an 08 Ford Ranger with over 143,000 miles on it with zero amenities at $6500. When I tried to negotiate a deal with the salesman over email he refused to budge saying that its worth $7000. Ummm... no. Kelly Blue Book has it listed as worth $4500. I offered $5000 in cash. I was willing to negotiate further, but the guy just kept arguing with me and refused to come down at all. Acted like I was insulting him. There are classic pickup trucks (73 Cheyennes and 86 C-10s & F-150s) with less miles and more amenities in better condition at lower prices listed.
