FedEx Office Print & Ship Center

I have been here before and the staff are usually helpful. One associate was when I asked her the…read moreemail to self-print. Like many other reviews, the blonde woman is shrewed and unhelpful. Barking at me if I used my own paper and it won't take it etc. Well it did thanks to your associate. If your professional printer cant handle resume paper you have bigger issues. If you can print at work, at home or even a friends house I would. It's not worth the attitude and frustration.

I don't mail packages all that often, but when I do, I admittedly usually go to the local post…read moreoffice of whatever town I'm in. Earlier this week, I specifically had to go to a FedEx location to mail back a textbook (prepaid) from Chegg. I selected this location as it was the closest one near me still open. I was delighted to see they were open until 9:00 PM. If I'm being honest, I think my time at this FedEx was marred by a customer, not an employee, who was astonishingly naive and lacking any and all information related to mailing and postal services. While I appreciate her giving spirit, this customer had 40+ tiny wrapped presents that she wanted the FedEx employee to personally box and mail to various addresses across the country herself. Not the biggest deal, except for on top of lacking any organization and preparation, she felt the need to describe in detail each and every gift and recipient. I was in genuine disbelief. The employee, I believe her name was Jenny (maybe..??), did such an appropriate job handling this bizarre encounter. She knowledgeably and patiently answered each of the customer's questions and was kind in her responses to the person's odd commentary. At the same time, she was mindful of my time and did not lallygag or respond in a manner that would force additional conversation (Thanks for looking out!). After almost an entire hour passed, it was finally my turn to mail my two packages. The employee apologized for my wait, though it was no fault of her own. (In retrospect, I should have just left, but I got trapped by the sunken cost fallacy.) The one package was "free" for me to mail since it was prepaid and another package of random goodies weighing 2.5 lbs cost me $10. I chose not to mail a 3rd package of hot sauce given that the shipping costs would be close to $30. Regarding the atmosphere of this location, there were some issues with appearance of cleanliness as can be noted in the photos, but this was mostly due to leaves on the floor caused by an open door and another delivery person packing a truck. I have full confidence it would have been cleaned by day's end/the next morning. The packing and prep station was very small, so this is not a place I would recommend you come to in order to pack your packages; you'd do best to come with them already handled. There were some nice products for sale - most I wouldn't buy in general (e.g., plastic badge holders) but some I certainly would, such as the birthday and pretty everyday-themed bubble mailers. Prices are as you'd expect - higher than typical but not totally unreasonable if you are limited on time and travel. I would say my biggest "complaint" with this facility was the fact that only one person was working (and especially so close to the holidays!) While I understand I was experiencing a particularly unique situation, I am sure it is not that uncommon for customers to do something like this that takes up a lot of time. Of course, I was personally irritated, but more importantly, I sincerely felt bad for the employee who had to handle this all alone... on top of aiding the delivery person, addressing other customers (members, business people) who just dropped off piles and piles of prepaid packages, and keeping an eye out on the store. This is so much for just one person to handle, and I especially didn't like her having to do this alone at night. I write this because I hope a manager or business employee will take the time to read and consider making changes. All that to say, to get to the point of the review, I have no qualm with recommending this FedEx location for others in the area who need to mail a package. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to come here, nor would I particularly think to choose this place over a standard post office, but if one is in the area or needs to get some mailing complete outside past 4:00-5:00 pm, this is a fine place to choose.

We are so happy with Daniel Island Academy. Having sent our 2 year old to two other daycares before…read moreDIA, we now understand why DIA is considered a "school" and not a daycare. Our daughter talks happily about her teachers daily, and loves to tell us about new games she and her friends have come up with. The teachers have helped our daughter learn how to sit at the table for community meals, listen attentively at story time, and learn to regulate her big feelings. DIA is a special place with a supportive faculty and engaged parent community. Highly recommend!

My daughter went there for 7 months (2007-2008) when she was 3 years old. Awesome school, the best…read morein the area (I looked at 3 other schools in Mount Pleasant, and DI topped them all). Lana liked it so much she still introduces herself as a "dolphin"! that was her class. The school is big, well equipped inside and outdoors, full of extra curriculum classes (you pay extra about $35-$45 per month) and overall the atmosphere is buzzing with a positive energy. Lana had young teachers. All very knowledgeable and great with kids. One downside they changed 3 times while she was there. You get reports every day. You can see the kids art creations posted on the walls next to each class. The school has lots of events and field trips (one every other week). One big plus for me was the fact the school cooks fresh, quality and nutritious food every day. They will accommodate health special needs. There was great deal of involvement from parents who are expected and highly encouraged to participate. We were meeting at least once a month (great chance to get out too and make new connections) to discuss activities for kids and ways to help the teachers. About tuition payments: The school is relatively expensive for South Carolina, close to $900 a month for 4-6 years old, but is well worth it. DI is one of the few NAEYC accredited schools in the state. The tuition needs to be paid 2 weeks in advance every other week. When you enroll you're also asked to pay for the last 2 weeks of the calendar year (i.e. you pay this year for June 2009) Bottom line Daniel Island Academy is an excellent pre-shool choice.
