This laundry changed hands a while back and now I have a problem with them actually ironing in major wrinkles on my 100% cotton shirts. I seldom use them and had forgotten about my earlier bad experience. On the spot is now expensive and they require payment when you bring items in. The younger employees are sitting around on their phones and disinterested. The older person was unfriendly and abrupt. Obviously this is not typical southern hospitality. Since the hangars are twist-tied together and covered with plastic, you don't know which shirts have ironed in wrinkles until you remove the plastic and separate your shirts. I will have to wash the cotton ones and re-iron them myself. If there was a star less than one, I would have given them the rating they deserve. I will not forget to never use them again! read more

I understand why they do it, but this is the first dry cleaner I've ever been to that charges you when you drop off. I dropped off a woman's blouse and a casual dress. I thought the pricing was expensive compared to other places. They were also unfriendly, and I felt like I was inconveniencing them, which is rare in Mount Pleasant. I won't go back. read more

Brought in a cashmere sweater to be cleaned and picked it up with food still on sleeve...as if no one had looked at it, let alone cleaned it. Brought it back in as the woman on the phone said to do so they could redo it. Picked it up and it still had the same crusted food on it. Waste of time and money, going somewhere else from now on. Sign on the door said it closed at 6pm. I showed up at 5:55 and the doors were locked but I could see people inside. I knocked and she shook her head and pointed to a clock. I have been going to the same dry cleaner for 6 years. I had a big meeting and a found a noticeable spot on my blazer. I went in they don't do same or next day service. This is how I landed at "On the spot" I went in and they sent the owner out from the back. He took my blazer and asked if I had a few minutes to wait. He cleaned the spot off, pressed my jacket and when I asked what I owed him he said just bring me your business next time! I have been going here ever since! I was very impressed with the turnaround time with my dry clean from drop off Thursday 5/11 to Monday 5/15 and when I went to pick up my dry cleaning on Tuesday 5/16. They pulled my phone number and found my clothes, I paid in full for the 9 items I dropped off . Since they were all hung in 5 hangers with the plastic to project them and I was charged the full amount I only assumed I would be getting all my clothes back . I'm only writing this because today 5/18 2 days after picked them up, in pulling the hangers apart I notice the 3 shirts were not included. I hoping the 3 express shirts I didn't receive was a simple error . I dropped off in total 9 items and receive 6 back.. I would assume this would be a simple fix and was wondering if so someone could reach out to me in regards of this. I've been really happy with my experiences at On the Spot. First off, they service everything in-house. I don't trust cleaners that take your stuff to another location to be cleaned as I've had items go missing in the past. The staff is always helpful and friendly plus the make everything as convenient as possible with reserved parking spots out front and I think they even do pickup and delivery. I might need to look into that. A huge bonus is that if you prepay they knock ten percent off the price. Definitely worth it. read more

I've really struggled to find a friendly, reliable dry cleaners that I feel I can trust. It was something I think I really took for granted up North. It was so easy to find a cleaners that offered same day service or next day service without paying a convenience fee. Well, On the Spot has restored my faith. After recovering from a house fire a few months back, I had a large pile of items that needed service. There were a number of things that did not go out to the insurance company for one reason or another. I decided to bring these things in a few at a time to test the waters. I can not stress how friendly they were at On the Spot. They were so helpful determining what items needed dry cleaning and which others simply needed to be laundered. Cost was a factor since I had so many different items for three of us. On more than one occasion I came in with a coupon from the value pack I received in the mail. This is actually what brought me to the Ben Sawyer location. After applying the coupon, the clerk handed it back to me so I could get the discount again when I came back with my other items. I do some alterations myself, growing up with my Mom as a seamstress, but sometimes the job is just too big or I simply don't have time. Based on the reviews I've read, I will definitely trust them to handle my alterations. Finally I feel like I have found my neighborhood cleaners. read more

Stay AWAY - Ruined a brand new blazer! This was the first time I had my new blazer dry cleaned. I dropped off on 10/10/19 with an ink mark on the pocket (see pic #1). The problem: After I picked up it now had a bleach stain on sleeve (see pic #2). I immediately notice and asked what happened. The lady told me that "its not from us", but that she would see what they could do. One week later: I returned to pick up - bleach stain intact. I was told that they would show it to "Tara" (the owner) and she would get back to me directly. One-Month of Calls and no reply: The next 3 weeks consisted of me calling and leaving messages with various employees asking for any update. Today (11/11/19): I called and spoke to "Kathy". I simply asked if there was an update as I was waiting for a return call since it has been a month. "Kathy" proceeded: 1) to berate me 2) call me a "liar" 3) that the stain "wasn't from them - that you [I] did it" 4) she spoke over me when I tried to speak because she said "I KNOW what you are going to say!" 5) "read the back of the ticket! we are NOT RESPONSIBLE!" Well, when you charge ~$8 to clean a blazer and you, not only are incapable of cleaning it, but you put a bleach stain on it - yeah, you are responsible Kathy. At the very least, treat someone with respect that has never been ill or disrespectful with you. Shame on this joke of a business and the way they treat others. read more

They continuously lost my clothes, they told me things would be ready when they weren't and when I asked for heavy starch the items came back looking like they hadn't even been ironed! When I arrived to pick up my clothes, they would tell me they could not find them only to call me, after I got home, to tell me they found them!! This happened several times. Horrible attitudes! The owner was sitting in his chair when I walked in, finishing up a phone call. Fine. Still sitting down, he barks indifferently says "What cha got?". Not sure how to answer that, um clothes. He then barks at me to take my suits off the "hooks". Assuming he meant hangers, I furrow my brow and comply. He then demands that I count all of the clothes in the large bag and sort hem. I said I'm not sure the exact number, and asked if I could leave the pile and jet - have other errands and things to do. Not looking up, he says "No". Oh really? Then he stops and has the audacity to tell me that I have a bad attitude and suggests that I can "stick it" somewhere if I do. Just astonishing. We exchanged words and I left. I NEVER write these things. Only when they absolutely demand it. I don't even want this to hurt their business. But the public needs to know the type of people running this place. No room for objective constructive criticism or customer respect. Just wow. We're not changing the world here, it's clothes. I started using them initially because of convenient location and organic methods. I have now been a loyal customer for 4 years and wouldn't use anyone else. The beyond friendly, staff are great. Sure there have been spots that they couldn't get out but I've never had dry cleaner that could get everything out that this sloppy customer brings in. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS DRY CLEANERS. Now that I got that out, let me tell you why. So I used to use this dry cleaners all the time until one day I picked up my dress shirts and 2 of them had rips in the left elbow. I didn't freak out at first, I just kindly told the guy at the front desk and he said their in house tailor would stitch them up. I said okay and left but the more I thought about it the more I realized that they should fix my shirt since they ripped them. So I then called back before picking up my shirts and asked what we could about it. The regular girl told me she would talk to the manager and get back to me. The manager then called me about a week later and told me that I can either pick up my shirts with the stitching or they can take the stitch out and give me back my shirts...WITH HOLES IN THEM. She never once offered to give me my money back for the shirts that THEY RIPPED. Nor did she even apologize for ripping my shirts. I then decided to go up there in person because I was clearly not getting anywhere over the phone. The "manager" then proceeded to tell me that IT WAS MY FAULT the shirts ripped because I wore them out and that this happens all the time....yeah you heard that right, THEY RIP SHIRTS ALL THE TIME. After about 20 minutes I finally got her to agree that I didn't rip my own shirt and I clearly don't go around rubbing my elbows all day so it had to be her machines that ripped my shirt. She didn't care what so ever and did not try to make it right at all. Finally after about 3 weeks of going back and forth she told me she would give me STORE CREDIT!!! She didn't even offer to give me $10 towards new shirts. I'm telling you people do not go here. 1) they will rip your clothes 2) they will blame you for them ripping your clothes 3) they will only give you store credit forcing you to come back. Don't do it unless you want to have some ripped clothes and nothing to fix it. read more
