If you end up showing up without one, then prepare to sit in the beating sun because nobody is in a rush to fly through their meal at this scenic indoor/outdoor restaurant. The prices are fair for the area and the meal sizes are large. I've had a better standard margarita, but it really depends on who is making them that night, I've had good and just okay here. The specialty flavored versions tended to be too sweet for me. Food came out at a reasonable pace and the servers were plenty attentive. The lobster roll is exploding with lobster, definitely order this!. My "special of the day" salmon with blueberry glaze was more like a borderline overlooked salmon with a thick blueberry jam over the top versus a glaze which I associate with being a thin, crisp flavoring over the top, but this was not. I would not order it again. Everyone else's food was awesome though - whether it was the fried seafood variety meal or a bowl of chowder. Have been coming to Quito's for years and have always loved it. Always thought it was worth the trip from where I live in North Smithfield, RI. This time, however, my wife and I were a bit disappointed in the food itself. I got the whole belly clam and scallops combo. My wife got the shrimp and scallops combo. The portions were kind of skimpy based on comparison to other times we have come here. I had maybe 2 bellies in my clams and the rest were strips. My wife only got 5 scallops that actually were pretty small and looked like they were cut in half. The takeout service was good and the staff was friendly. Just not enough food for the price. Won't rush back here or make a special trip in the future based on what we got for the money. If you are in town anyway, I wouldn't rule them out as a place to eat along the water. read more

I was really excited to try this place based on all the reviews I read before deciding to make a reservation. Besides the wait (maybe 20-25 mins) the food was bland, the drinks were terrible and tasteless. I got the seafood casserole and it was left a little too long under the broiler because it came out semi burnt. I didn't complain, because we were hungry AF and Its not to the point where its inedible. The food all around could have been good if it was given a bit of seasoning. The appetizers that we ordered never came out.. and then the server remembered so got them out after the entrees came out. We didn't want any of them except for the oysters. However it was such a disappointment. The waiter put the oyster platter on the bar next to our table. Little did I know that when I would grab it I would be drenched by the water (because they didn't use that much ice or the waiter forgot to bring out our appetizers and by that point the ice melted) The oysters were swimming in that water and it was just not pretty or tasty. I visited last night with my 89-year old mother and 85-year old father, my two adult kids and their cousin. We didn't have a reservation, and the air was chilly. I was hoping for a table inside, but there were several tables outside. Our hostess (upswept, darker blonde hair) was very nice and went to see what she could do for us. While we were waiting, another woman, perhaps another hostess, inserted herself and was just plain nasty. She has long, straight, very blonde hair. We were offered tables outside when we first arrived, but this young woman insisted there was an hour wait inside and that they didn't want to push any more tables together outside. Two of the six or so available tables were right next to each other. Our initial hostess said she didn't think it would be an hour wait, and was trying to be helpful. The long-haired one had a terrible attitude and needs some training on what it means to work in a service business. Look, I understand that without a reservation, I won't necessarily have luck getting a seat. But there was no need for my family to be treated this way. Too bad. I like the food here, but it will be some time before this restaurant gets any business from me. Another party also left when they overheard how we were being treated. read more

This review would have been three stars were it not for the awful manager. The food was decent to good seafood fare, fresh, and priced average for Bristol. Our waitress was awesome, very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Unfortunately, this does not make up for the worst experience I have ever had with an owner/manager: upon asking the bartender to redo one of our drinks (we all had the same drink in a large party, all good except one), the manager stormed over to our table, wanting to recheck our IDs (all well past the legal age), and began barking at us. NEVER had I EVER had such a rude, uncourteous experience. No "how can I help/make this better"... instead, blaming the table for her kitchen's issue. The neighboring tables were shocked as we were, and the poor friendly wait-staff and bartender winced as if this was not an uncommon experience. Some of the locals even came up to us afterwards to talk about the experience. We heard from them (supposedly) that the "manager", younger and much less mature than her staff, was the owner's daughter and that this indeed is not an uncommon experience. Until the owner can teach her daughter some respect and how the customer comes first, I will be spreading the word to avoid this establishment. Moreover, I do not want to support a manager/owner that treats its employees with the same attitude given to us on what was supposed to be a day of celebration. read more

Quito's has a beautiful view of the water but the restaurant itself could use a face lift. This is a great place to grab a beer and plate of fried seafood and watch the sun go down, but it's not a place to impress a first date. We tried the calamari, which we order almost every time we see it on a menu, and we both agreed theirs was the best we've ever had. HUGE pieces of squid, fried delicately in a light, flavorful batter. Each piece was very chewy and salty, just like it should be. I had the seafood soup, which was just okay. Lots of seafood (fish, shrimp, mussels, etc.), but the tomato broth was a little bland. We also had the fried whole bellied clams, which were not sandy or gritty in the least. In all, Quito's is a great casual spot in Bristol, perfect for stopping in after a sweaty bike ride, and generally a nice relaxing place to catch up with friends over a frosty brew. read more

Love this place, this is one of our favorites for business lunches during the summer. You're sitting right on the harbor facing the water. There is also an inside area for crappier and busier days. It's not as classy looking as Goff's (or whatever they call it now) down the street but the food is 200% better. I've only had the burgers and the clam strips. The burgers are good, and the clam strips are awwwwwwesome. I get them almost every time I go. It stinks they're closed in the winter (even though they have inside seating) but I guess I can forgive them and wait until summer. read more

We all had the autumn specials for lunch. The food was amazing. We all tried each other's and were equally happy with the flavors! We also had the spicy crab dip appetizer. Wow, absolutely delicious with the home made chips. And we left with 2 quarts of their soup, for the win! Only reason for less than perfect score was the service. I brought some out of state relatives here on a warm Wednesday night in August. Quitos is right on the water so on a beautiful night it tends to be busy. We were told an hour wait to sit outside or 25-30 minutes to sit inside. We opted for inside. The sun was setting, so we walked over to one of the benches on the water to enjoy the view as Quitos doesn't really have a waiting area, only a few chairs. We went back after 15 minutes to see how much longer and were berated as they were apparently looking for us. Now, they don't give out buzzers and I was there when she was looking for other people. They really don't call names very loudly at all. They need to come up with a better system. We had to wait for another available table while the hostess complained to us that people lingered too long after their meals and unfortunately they can't kick them out. Well ok then. I'll be sure to dine and dash. We were seated about ten minutes later inside. The waitress came by promptly for our drink order, but it did take a while to be delivered. Two in our party ordered fish and chips, one a bowl of chowder and I ordered a Caeser salad with grilled shrimp. There were no complaints on the fish and chips. The chowder was lukewarm, not hot. My salad was OK. We weren't wowed by anything. We did start to feel rushed towards the end of our meal and by that point the dining room was emptying out. After waiting over 30 minutes (due supposedly to an issue which I no longer believe) and while watching table after table leave, after having to ask about our reservation again,  we finally were seated and there were over 6 tables empty...Then we get cold "spicy" calamari which wasn't really spicy and didnt taste fresh but previously frozen...our main dishes were even worse. Pan seared to them means poached with no spices and served ice cold. Sent back and they stuck it in the oven and now they're barely warm and rubbery...mashed potatoes were boiled potatoes that were still hard. cold fries replaced with more barely warm fries. read more

This place used to be great. I am not sure if this visit was so bad it was because we came in in for the last seating before close, but the food was ok, the service was terrible. The food was cold when it came out. The server was not attentive and distracted. Overall, it was really a dismal experience. Without the sign out in front of the entrance to the parking lot you would never know Quito's is there. They have outdoor seating and even from the inside you can still manage to get a great view of the sunset coming down over the Bristol Harbor. They have a surprisingly extensive menu and the focus is obviously seafood. Fried, grilled, with pasta, without, you have many different options to choose from and if seafood is not your thing there are other things on the menu as well. The New England clam chowder was great, the caesar salad was okay, and the lobster scampi was enormous. There was no problem finding the lobster in this dish as the entire top of the pasta plate was loaded with it. So much so that picking out the lobster and having just a small portion of the pasta left me full to the point where I could not go any further. read more

Came here for lunch on Sunday with my partents. As I expected the place was busy and there was about a half hour wait to sit outside on the patio. During our wait we grabbed a round of beers and had time to look over the menu and game plan our meal. Once seated our server was attentive and she got our order in right away. For starters we split two stuffies and three clamcakes. They were both very good and had a good amount of clam pieces in each (and the stuffie had great seasoning / flavor). For my main course I went with the lobster roll and my parents tried the fish tacos and the pan seared fish sandwich. From the first bite up until the last french fry was gone, we all couldn't stop raving about how amazing the food was. All the fish was extremely fresh, well prepared and the portions were the perfect size. And as much as I love lobster rolls...the one I had ranks up there as probably one of the best in the state. The hotdog roll was buttered and grilled and then stuffed with huge chunks / claw meat that was perfectly dressed with just enough mayo. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water and crave another one. In my mind, Quito's is the quintessential RI clam shack. While the wait can be lengthy at times to grab a table, the food and views certainly make it worth the wait. Servers were friendly and even when busy seemed to stay on top of things. This little spot in Bristol is a great go to when it comes to fresh seafood and good size portions. It wouldn't be summertime in RI without a trip to Quito's. read more

I can only base this on take out as we have not dined-in. But we've only had good experiences with Quito's. #1. You must get their honey-ginger dressing/dipping sauce. It is unbelievable #2. They do a solid RI Clam Chowder. My husband and I always say I wish places would put more in chowder, like celery or something. BAM Quito's does it! #3. Red Chowder also pretty solid. #4. You know when your chowder is usually SCALDING hot and you want to eat it right away but you can't- unless you want to burn your mouth? Well, their chowder is actually edible when served. #5. Clam cakes have good sized clams in them. They aren't my top pick in RI but they are really good. #6. No packets of tartar sauce, they either make their own or scoop it out of a big tub. They use sweet relish in their tartar sauce, it's not my personal fave, but hey could be yours! #7. Great spot on the water for indoor or deck-dinning. Or bring a blanket and your own drinks and set up shop on the lawn and enjoy take out! The only slight problem we had once is they forgot an order of chowder once, but we were only a hundred yards away, so just walked back over and got the chowder no prob. Great spot for kids and adults. I would say fair prices with other spots on the water and seafood-oriented. read more

Hands down, best fried clams I have ever had. The clams were so incredibly fresh and sweet, and they were not stingy at all about the portion size. I think the price is perfect for this! Seating was a little limited, and it was a bit chilly sitting outside, but that food was fantastic! The service was a little off, and it took a while for us to get the attention of our waitress, but the food made up for it. Scowling bartenders, the worst service I've ever experienced, and a very dirty bar. From the moment we walked in the door it was bad. Our group of 5 was ignored for several minutes by the 3 hostesses just hanging out at the hostess stand until I asked for a table. Despite having called 20 minutes prior and asked if a reservation was needed for a group of 5 and was told they weren't busy at all. Meanwhile there was a 40 minute wait. We ended up sitting at the bar. It was filthy when we sat down. The bartenders were the most miserable I have ever seen. No eye contact, no greeting, no attempt to clean the bar in front of us, not even an acknowledgment that we were there, just mean scowling faces ignoring their customers. We had to assert ourselves and ask to have the bar cleaned, we had to ask for menus, and we had to ask for drinks. This was not a packed bar, and there seemed to be plenty of staff milling around. We had to specifically ask to have the empty plates removed from the customers sitting in the seats before us. We then had to ask for the bar to be wiped down. There was a melted DD iced coffee sitting behind the bar next to the cucumbers the entire time we were there. Probably had been sitting there since the beginning of the shift and should have been in the trash. Health code violation. See photos. My boyfriend and I shared our meal. Food seemed ok at the time, nothing special, but I got a bad stomach ache about an hour after eating and then the next morning we both had diarrhea at the same time. If the staff and management/owner doesn't make cleanliness in the front of house a priority then you can be assured that proper sanitary conditions are not a priority in the places you can't see like the kitchen. I doubt Quito's would pass a surprise visit from the health department. Avoid this place. No prices on the drink menu. There's no way to tell if you are being honestly charged. All of our drinks sat empty and we were never asked if we wanted another. 1 star for waterfront seating. read more

Our first visit - overall it was very good and we'd like to come again, but some of the food preparation would have to be improved. The scenery was lovely! Our waitress was very attentive. We appreciated the friendliness of the busboy (and noticed he was careful to thoroughly clean up vacated tables and even underneath). We started with chowders: Manhattan for me and New England for my hubby. Fantastic!!!! Nice, warm rolls were also served. We also ordered mussels in an oil and garlic sauce, but we had no idea how much oil - waaaay too much oil! Entree time - here's where the potential 4 stars dropped to 3. I ordered the seasonal item: Lobster Paella. Hubby had the scallops with chunky mashed potatoes and broccoli (he also had a house salad-blue cheese flavored, but no chunks of blue cheese to be found). The scallops were as big as the waitress said they would be and the portion was very generous. The potatoes, sadly were flavorless and the broccoli was overcooked, wet, and sitting in small pool of water in it's single serving bowl. Then there was the oil - all over the dish making everything oily. My lobster tails were nicely grilled, but the saffron rice was overcooked and mushy AND flavorless. So, if we were to come again we'd like Quito's to hold the oil! I think they'd save money by not dumping so much oil on the food. Just had lunch there today with a friend and everything was perfect. We ordered a Bloody Mary for each of us with a large prawn garnish, it was delicious and not overly spiced! We split an order of steamers that was about as clean and tasty as you can get. We also split a large order of fried whole belly clams. These are always very good and today was no exception! They are light, delicate, and tasty! Lastly, we each got an order of cole slaw and that was very good too. The service was quick, friendly, and competent, and the atmosphere was wonderful overlooking Bristol Harbor. Get ready for the price though: lunch for two with 20% tip was $95.00. After a long bike ride, Quito's was a nice seafood place to stop by on the water. We ordered clam cakes, clam chowder, and a fish special. I found that both the clam chowder and cakes were really lacking in clams. They still tasted good, but there should have definitely been more clams. Our main entrée was yummy but the fish was absolutely drenched in breadcrumbs which made the dish feel heavier than what I would have liked. The service was attentive and the location is perfect! Perhaps we just didn't choose the right things on the menu. I can see myself coming here again if I'm in Bristol! read more

I've been meaning to update this review for awhile. Unfortunately, the past two times I've been to Quito's both the quality of food and service seem to have slipped. I met with friends two separate times this summer, and sadly they were both disappointing. The second time we were all nauseous after dinner. Decent seafood in bristol. A little pricey, and the service was a bit slow. The chowder was flavorful and chunky. We tried the Manhattan, Rhode Island, and New England chowder. The Rhode island one was out favorite. Clam cakes were light, although deep fried. The dough was not as flavorful as we've had at other places. Similar with the stuffies, they were decent stuffies, but did not really stand out. We also had the 1 1/4 lb steamers. They come with a butter and garlic/clam juice for dunking. The clams were a little gritty, which was a little disappointing. The clam juice for dunking had too much salt in it. The sangria was also very disappointing. We made a last minute decision to get a late dinner in an area that we aren't familiar with, during our visit to Boston (from Dallas). We had seen decent reviews k. Yelp - and someone we ran into at Colt State Park said it was good. Well it was FANTASTIC - we went at 8:45pm on a Thursday night - clearly weren't closing! We ordered drinks and full meals and everything was excellent. We are from New England and the steamers were delicious!!! The clam cakes are essentially seafood zeppolis, but are pretty tasty. I happen to be in NE and I expect my clam chowder to be great, and indeed it was. The potato and clam were both quite soft and there was a good amount of oil used. You can't beat the views of the marina! read more
