Every single drink we tried was absolutely incredible.. So unique, flavorful, and thoughtfully crafted. You can really tell how much effort and creativity goes into each cocktail... We sat at the bar, which made the experience even better because we got to watch the bartenders in action. They walk you through each drink when they serve it, explaining the ingredients, how to enjoy it, and the inspiration behind it. It felt like more than just drinks.. it was an experience... The bartenders were super friendly, and several of them spoke English, which made everything easy and comfortable. The ambiance is exactly what you'd want: dim, chill, and upscale with a cool, laid-back crowd... It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends or wind down for the night.. Quinary prides itself of its multisensory cocktails and consistent regional and global accolades, and it lived up to the hype! -Haak lo mai: Although the black glutinous rice flavors wasn't super prominent, this drink was my favorite out of the four because the sweet taro and coconut flavors mixed well with the whiskey. The foam cloud was smooth and contrasted nicely with the sweet potato chips on top. -Cotton: Delicious mix of ceylon tea and coconut milk with its creamy foam on top; whiskey wasn't too strong but still present. Loved how they pour at the table side and you see the intact foam rise above the rim. -Earl grey caviar martini: It reminded me of boba but with alcohol and tea caviar bubbles. The foam was interesting but didn't taste like much. The drink was strong but the popping bubbles were quite interesting! -Happy cake: A little too sweet for me but I liked the strong pistachio flavors along with the crunchy nutty bites. Overall, I loved the creativity and influence of local Hong Kong flavors. Don't let the menu scare you and make sure you flip to the end for all the options! Prices were reasonable for LKF. In addition to being a world class mixologist, founder Antonio Lai has been heralded as one of the city's most accomplished and visionary owners. Even in a neighborhood as saturated with nightlife and drink options as Central, they've managed to stand out with a steady mix of expats and locals. The narrow space has a lot of industrial and modern elements throughout and is the ultimate date night spot or group drinking ambiance. It's intimate in the best way. The Forest Affair is a good tequila based cocktail and the Haak Lo Mai is a nutty but somewhat sweet black glutinous rice based drink. Their smoked Manhattan is a cool $200HKD and is easily the slowest sipping drink I'll ever order. I noticed during my last visit that they have now have a food menu, which is a mix of bar friendly bites that span from western to eastern inspired cuisine. I was so excited to check out this place. I had high expectations for it and they were all surpassed. Quinary was so good and a wonderful experience that we went more than once. Quinary is also listed as one of the worlds 50 best bars! Once you go there, you can see why! The staff is friendly and attentive, very welcoming and speak English as well. The presentation for each drink is beautiful and intriguing. The flavors are unique and astonishing. The vibe and atmosphere to the place is incredible! We sat at the bar and we watched as our drinks and a few others were made. The cost for the drinks are a bit higher than other places but the quality of the ingredients in your cocktails are the best! Both of our visits were great! And we tried different cocktails in each visit and the quality was consistent. On my first night in Hong Kong during an extended two day layover, I wandered into a bar five minutes away from my hotel on a Monday night. Turns out it's #31 on Asia's 50th Best Bars at the time I went. What intrigued me was the multisensory mixology concept. It's a drinking experience that engage all five senses. I'm not sure if I got that experience fully. Since I was traveling solo I get the benefit of little/to no wait times and a seat at the bar. I love watching the mixologists create their craft and perhaps that fulfilled two of those sensories. For the cocktails, I couldn't help but order the visually stunning Earl Grey Caviar Martini. Now that I've ordered one of this towering foamy drinks I don't have to again. It was very difficult to drink or eat? There must be a trick but I didn't enjoy the drinking process of this drink much. The cocktail itself was okay, but it gets credit for the creativity. The other cocktail I ordered was the Nostalgia. While more visually simple, the flavors had more depth and complexity. Amazing cocktail selection that is uniquely crafted. I recommend going on a Sunday to avoid a crazy line to get in on a Saturday night. We tried going on Saturday at around 9pm for a table of 4, and waited for about 45 minutes. They have plenty of tables for 2 which seem to turnaround pretty quickly. Not very many tables for groups of 4 or larger. All of the drinks have a unique flavor and niche. The waitress was friendly and tentative when ordering food and drinks. So many fun, creative cocktails here that it was hard to pick just one. I went with the Dylan Rose (dill-infused Ketel One vodka, rose & orgeat syrup, carbonated lemon juice and lime juice) because I was intrigued by dill-infused vodka. The cocktail was incredible refreshing and fragrant but not like perfume or potpourri at all. it was also served in a fancy high tea-esque tea cup. Pinkies up! My fiance ordered the Oolong Tea Collins (Absolut Elyx vodka and an oolong tea cordial), which was really light. It was less sweet than mine as well. Also, the bar chips were really tasty. Did you know there's a World 50 best list for bars? I didn't, but I learned that Quinary ranks a solid #54 this year and it's been top 50 several times. Regardless of what the world thinks, Quinary makes the top of MY list! I don't know much about cocktails, but I know when they're good. Everything they make is a cohesive experience, and I love them all. Their monthly special, the Chasing Apples, is like a sweet pink champagne. I underestimated the impact of a little smoke in a Jack and Coke, and their Old Fashioned is probably the best in the world. I don't know if that's true, but I don't need to try any others to keep getting this one. The Barrel Aged Sidecar is lighter than I expected but pleasant and easy to drink. The Dark & Stormy Intense is a thrill-ride, bold with a lot of fresh, spicy ginger. These cocktails are curiously strong, so make sure you snack as you sip. Their bar menu is brief, but they have all the drinking staples. The Truffle Fries have real truffle, and the Prosciutto Platter has a lot of pretty good meat. I love this bar. It's sexy and chic but tourist-friendly enough to not make you self-conscious. Pop in for a drink any night, but try to get an early start - this place fills up fast! read more

After landing in Hong Kong, my goal wasn't to sight see, eat food or visit locals but was to get Krunk with some alcohol! Although this place isn't really a place to get krunk, my friend who's a local brought me here. She mentioned that Quinary was ranked as one of the top best bars in the world. Lavender Meringue Pie: HOLY CRAP. BEST DRINK I'VE EVER HAD. Yes, it's a girls drink. NO, I'm not ashamed. I'm manly enough to admit a good drink when I've had one. The meringue on top is absolutely delicious and it goes so well with the tart gin on the bottom. The mixture is perfect. However the drink is a hefty 141 HKD ($18) USD. A bit pricey but honestly I think it's worth it. 2. Earl Grey Cavier Martini: This drink was quite good. It wasn't as good as the Meringue pie drink. The large foam on the top looks amazing for IG pictures but it has no taste and is nothing but a choking hazard. Also the "Cavier" boba like stuff on the bottom was alright. The drink has a great Earl Grey flavor but I feel I could just buy a boba for 1/4 the price. Oh my god Quinary! You have forever ruined cocktails for me.....damn you. I have never been a big fan of cocktails UNTIL my trip to Hong Kong. One of my best friends is a super "bar whore" so she suggested we should all go since we were meeting up in Hong Kong anyways. Quinary is located in the Felicity Building (Felicity was such a great show...Felicity + Ben forever. haha.) on Hollywood Road. It's right in the popular area of Lan Kwai Fong so it's good idea to make a whole day of it if you have the time. I have no idea about parking. It seemed pretty nonexistent because of the small narrow streets in the area, but we just took a taxi and it dropped us off in the area. Seriously I used to be a "wine only" girl (Ok, mostly Rosé and Champagne) but after my experience here, I feel like I have been converted. (Damn you Tina.) Their cozy and dimly-lit interior lends to a modern and hipster/trendy feel. It compares to the speakeasy feel of the other world famous bars i.e. Angel's Share in Manhattan or Speak Low in Shanghai. Quinary is on the list of World's 50 Best Bars so it's not a shock that we fell in love with it. The nights we were at Quinary, they had two guest bartenders from Seoul, Korea making their signature cocktails. (Bartenders often do this now.) They seated us right in front of them so of course we had to try their famous drinks. Each cocktail they made us took time and skill. They even brought their own tools and ingredients from Seoul. After our second cocktail of the night, they then made us a special drink on the house which they usually make at home for themselves. It had honey, ginseng, milk, and Soju. It was DELISH. My best friend actually thought that was the best one of the night. After that, we each had another two of Quinary's signature cocktails. (Yes, things got a bit blurry after that. I believe that somehow...we crawled back to our hotel.) After my trip, I have become such a fan of Artisanal Cocktails and will definitely be returning again the next time I'm in Hong Kong. I've been to a good amount of bars that specialize in crafted cocktails: from New York to Seattle to Las Vegas and yet Quinary just sticks out as one of the best. Why is it not THE best? Well, I don't live in Hong Kong! It's not remotely near me at all! Granted, that may be a good thing because I might just be at Quinary all the time if it was near me and that could be a little troublesome. I originally found Quinary on a website that recommended it .. and with their interesting concoctions, I just had to drag my boyfriend and best friend to go! The place was very clean and classy looking. When we got in, we decided to sit right at the bar -- it gives the greatest views. We were able to watch them work their magic and make their yummy looking drinks. For a small spot, they had a decent amount of drinks on their menu. Not only do they have drinks, they also have some small plates/tapas available for you to order if you wanted some food. Since we went right after dinner, we decided to skip on the small plates. We got to try several drinks that night: Marshmallow Duo Oolong Tea Collins Pisco Lime Sour Checkers Snowy Soda Two Leaves Yuan Yang Every drink is like a masterpiece. All the flavors blended in together very well. Nothing was abnormally strong to my taste buds, which is really hard to come by when a majority of the bases that they use are gin or whiskeys. They have a real passion for the art and it's refreshing to be able to see that in their work and creations. It is also very refreshing to see cocktails that uses tea. It's very rare for me to see those in cocktails and I never really knew why. It's not a very common thing in the States. All the drinks that I have tried that incorporated tea in it, such as the Oolong Tea Collins and Two Leaves, were all very delicious. They have drinks where they use smoke, they have drinks where they carbonate the drink themselves, and they have drinks where they used salty foam. Yes, if you lick the foam, it's salty! It has a taste to it! On top of that, they will garnish some drinks with dehydrated fruit ... and they dehydrated the fruit themselves. Just wow. The drinks are not cheap but with their caliber of expertise and creative minds, why would you ever think that they will be "cheap" ... the prices of these cocktails, in my opinion, are justified. It is on par with any other crafted cocktail you will get in the USA -- price wise. We also were able to chat with the owner of the establishment. He has travelled to various places learning his arts and craft and he is a wonderful person to chat with. We even suggest that he move out to Las Vegas and start up a place! One of my favorite bars in the world. It's popular with Expats and Tourists but that does not at all minimize the charm and it's hardly ever too crowded to be enjoyed. Try a cocktail made with their homemade pandan syrup, but as far as the menu goes, you can't go wrong. Sit at the bar if you can. It's really fun to see them make the drinks. I knew I had to give this establishment a try and it was such a wonderful & unique experience. Once you walk in, you'll notice how quaint and secluded this place is, similar to a speakeasy. The bar is fully decorated with shelves full of unique alcohol and fancy gadgets. It's also entertaining watching the bartenders work their magic to create these one of a kind drinks, and occasionally you'll see someone using a blowtorch too! Some coworkers and I came in around 8pm on a Friday night. We had some time to kill before our dinner reservation and really wanted to check this place out. I was concerned that we wouldn't be able to walk in but, luckily, there was a great space for us in the lounge. My coworkers aren't big cocktailers, mostly because they don't like pretentious cocktail bars. I was happy to see upon arrival that Quinary is laid back, warm, and inviting. Not a hint of pretentiousness. Perfect! There was something for everyone on the cocktail list. A gummy bear cocktail for the sweet drink lover, barrel aged manhattan for the manhattan lover, and even a beer for the guy who doesn't like liquor. I really wish I could remember the names of all of the drinks we tried because they were all awesome. I'm really glad that everyone tried different ones, too, so we could sample a bunch. I also have to mention the presentation. They do a great job with the presentation of the drinks. They are so much fun. The best at our table was a drink that was served in a paper bag with smoke coming out of it. I'm really sad that we had a dinner reservation, I could have stayed the entire night. I watched the Tom-Cruise-like bartenders mix a wide variety of the ridiculously long cocktail menu. They did so, pretty much nonstop, from memory and terrific flare. I like to have fun and laugh in a cocktail lounge. Taking boozing this seriously misses the point. However, if you enlisted in the mixology squadron, Quinary will "fit the bill." Hours incorrect on yelp. Closes 1am. SUPER nice staff. They let us in 10 minute before close for a quick drink. Awesome menu for the cocktail lover like my self. I naturally ordered something with gin, lavender, limacello. We ended up stopping in three times on our trip. Best craft cocktails I found on our vacation. The Quinary is another great bar on Hollywood road right in the heart of Soho. This place has become very popular among locals and tourists alike. The interior is quite stylish with a long bar, high tables and stools. Service here is excellent, attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. The bar tenders are super helpful and they are happy to assist you with finding the right drink. Sitting at the bar it's just fun to watch them mix drinks! They have a huge list of cocktails containing not only your classic ones. It takes time to read the menu for sure! Apart from cocktails they have a huge selection of different whisky's covering different parts of the world. Just look at the stacked bottles behind the bar, it's a great view! A solid cocktail bar worthy of being part of Drink International's list of 50 Best Cocktail Bars in the world. What I love about Quinary is its unpretentiousness. Our group of four was able to walk in on a weeknight with no reservation, and they were cool with us. On my last visit I had the gummy bear cocktail, which I classify under "dangerous" because it tastes like a liquid gummy bear without the alcohol! Like any high-end cocktail bar, they've got pages of cocktails for dayssss. If you don't see anything you like, I wouldn't be surprised if they do bespoke as well. read more

I'm not big into cocktails, but I can definitely find the joy in tasting some nicely crafted, creatives one, which is exactly what you find here at the Quinary. My local friend brought us here after dinner and it was a really nicely lit and comfortable space. The staff here really knew what they were doing and the prices were alright, definitely good bang for your buck in terms of Hong Kong. I honestly expected the drinks to be more like $140 HKD, but they were $110-$130 HKD, pretty in line with New York City. I had the Marshmallow Duo and the Earl Grey Caviar Martini. This is really where the creativity shined bright because the Marshmallow Duo may have been the cutest little cocktails. It came in these two tiny plastic Coke bottle replicas with straws and two grilled marshmallows. I was so tempted to steal the other one away from my sister, but that just proves I'm a great sibling that I didn't. The martini was freakin' great as well with the (alcoholic??) foam on top and the fruit bubble things adding a different dimension to a regular old martini. One of the best British mixdology with proper canapé in town. The duo owners are from here with long time experience and background of cocktail and LKF dinning. I have to do some cocktail tasting thanks to my previous job. Quinary was on my top 3. How they play whisky can almost tell the knowledge of its achohol. Their whisky ice cube is perfect. Best bar in HK hands down. Ask for the Lofa special. His negroni is a unique drink you won't find on the menu. Also, great spot if you're looking for some delicious mocktails. They are one of the best 50 bars for a reason. Marvin is a great assistant manager, and will make sure to get you a spot at the bar to watch where all the action is at.
