They connected me to someone who made an amazing quilt for me that will be passed down the generarions. I recently took a class with Barbara, the owner of this business. She is extremely knowledgeable about quilting and other fabric arts as well as common sense and clever nuggets of information to ease and upgrade the sewing experience. Barbara is always very generous with sharing her vast knowledge and skills. I highly recommend Barbara's classes. I have taken several classes which are always small, filled with new information and lots of personal attention from Barbara. Quilters and other fabric artists are so lucky that we have the Quilted Angel. With the ever dwindling quilt and fabric shops we are fortunate that the best among them is still available. The inventory is extensive with the highest quality goods that the staff usually have personal experience with and are generous with tips and suggestions about their products. Very limited fabric selection. Needed a basic royal blue and white. Hoping to get a batik. Such a limited selection.

I bought some expensive fabric to make my grandchildren robes for Christmas. After washing/drying the fabric, I found that it had shrunk so much, my pattern didn't fit. I went back to Quilted Angel the next day and THEY MADE RIGHT with no hassle at all! I will shop there every time I need fabric! read more

This is a fantastic quilt shop. I've shopped here and even taken a couple of classes here- which I highly recommend! I attend many quilt shows, see many vendors, and also visit the local quilt shops, whenever I can, but The Quilted Angel is my absolute favorite store. The inventory here is top notch quality (only), and the owner curates wonderful designer collections of high quality quilting fabric, books, patterns, and quality tools. (Don't miss the small collector's Barbie display, here! It's magical!) The Quilted Angel also has the best staff around, knowledgeable, helpful, engaged and really know how to provide excellent service. Went there with my service dog. This was the third time I have visited the shop, being harrassed each time and will be the last. I even stated that my dog was a service dog when i entered but that wasn't good enough for her. Totally embarrassed me in front of other employees/customers. People need to learn what hidden disabilities are and learn the ada rules. The older gray haired lady was so rude and glared at me as i left the shop. As least she could have been polite or even asked me to carry my dog. Then she proceeded to tell me people have allergies to dogs. Mine is a non shed schnoodle, very clean and well mannered. Will never go back. I guess she didn't need the $60 dollar sale I would have made on 5 yards of fabric and future sales. Yes, I know people abuse the ada system. It does ruin it for those who truly need their dogs for physical issues and medical alerts. read more

My friends and I were happy to find Quilted Angel doing well. The shop carries a great selection of fabrics, including Tilda. Great selection of books and patterns too. Barbara, the owner is an accomplished quilter and shares her knowledge of quilting (such a valuable resource). Her classroom has samples of upcoming classes (wish I lived closer) that are truly inspiring. The shop is also filled with quilt samples, bag samples and look up to see Tilda dolls and cute fabric fish. Barbara has a lovely curated fabric shop...definitely a must stop. I would have given this shop 5 stars based on multiple previous visits, and was hoping to support this local, small business again yesterday. I checked the internet for hours and special instructions before visiting during this pandemic, and was also reading the signage on the door (in masks) which specifically stated "appointments highly recommended" and "only 3 customers at a time" when the lady inside abruptly opened the door and scowled, "Appointments only!" There was no greeting or apology, just a really rude look and tone. We inquired if there was any availability later, and she said "Not until next Wednesday." There was no sign of any other customer present. I hate to say this, but I wonder if we would have been treated differently if we weren't people of color. I've spent a lot of money here in the past, but never again. read more

I've lived in Petaluma 49 years (yes I'm old, been here since dinosaurs roamed the earth) and never knew this place existed....but then again I'm not a quilter nor do I sew by any means (my hemming job since I was a kid has always been 2 things either duct tape or staples) but going through this store with a friend almost makes me want to learn! It is a dream store for anyone who quilts, sews, etc. They have more bolts of material/fabric then you can shake a stick out, and in all sorts of patterns, colors, etc., plus various tools & supplies. And they have classes so, for folks like me who have no idea what they are doing they can be taught (yes you can teach an old dog new tricks but it just takes a lot of time, a lot of patience and whatever else keeps you going). They are conveniently located on the corner of 2nd & G Street on the west side of Petaluma. Parking is on the street, no parking lot. At first glance you think it's small but I'll tell ya I was pleasantly surprised as to the size inside & the amount of product they had. And it's open 7 days a week. Yes you heard, or rather read correctly..... open 7 days a week! So if you have a sewing or quilting emergency & need needles, thread, bobbins, fabric or whatever, you can get it here. Just make sure it's during their business hours of 11am to 4pm, and again that's every single day (except holidays of course). read more

I was so happy to find a local quilt store where I could buy cotton fabric to make masks, for now it's only curbside pick up. You can place your orders online and they will call you in just a day or two when it's ready. They also have many different colors of elastic. Years ago I did a lot of quilting and always came from Rohnert Park to Petaluma to buy my fabric at Quilted Angel, now that I live in Petaluma I can't wait for the store to be open so I can touch everything. read more

Seriously, one of the best quilt shops I have visited in a long while! Why you say? Absolutely Great Customer Service!!! I brought my sister here who was visiting from Wisconsin. We were greeted upon entry, given a tour of the place and then were left to our own devices for awhile to pick out what we wanted to purchase. Cindy and her colleagues were wonderful! They took the time to talk with us, were patient with cutting all of our fabric and shared a few laughs. Quilters are a great bunch of people to hang out with...I could have spent more time here, but alas we had to go because we promised our designated driver (brother-in-law) lunch. When it comes to fabric, this place has it all. I finally found the perfect yellow to finish my summer place mats that I started three years ago, as well as the ultimate shade of green to be the sashing on my next summer quilt. My sister found fabric for her patriotic/military quilt and a few other goodies! So incredibly happy we chose this shop over the others. I will definitely be back because I know I am going to need a long armer in my future...hint...hint...Cindy! This quilt shop is open every day from 11am - 4pm. Went to this store on a bus tour of other quilt shops and could have honestly just stayed here instead of going on to the others. HUGE, and I mean HUGE selection of fabrics, patterns and books. Saw lots of things that I have never seen at other stores. I am a huge fan of retro fabrics and western and they have lots of both! Lots of great displays on the wall to get you inspired to make something. I noticed that there is a very nice classroom and lots of great classes posted on the wall. Wished I lived closer-would def take advantage of that room. The ladies that work there are very helpful and super sweet. I could easily spend my kids college money here and a few other kids as well! Very greatfull that I didn't see any silly little rat dogs here like Amanda...Why do they have to bring their dogs, anyway???Geeeze! read more

I was just in quilted Angel and now I know why I don't shop there. I find the shop owner Barbara very unfriendly. My card didn't work and I informed them my card is fine. Ultimately I just used another card but I was frustrated that there was no attempt to resolve the issue. Then 5 minutes later I used my same card at the Feed store and it was fine. So I thought I should let Barbara no because I think it was something wrong with her machine. It was clear she was not happy with my call even though my intentions were to be helpful. In the end I said I was sorry I called. And she told me she was sorry that I did too. Oh well this is why my go to shop is not quilted Angel. She will never have my business again. Maybe she was having a bad day but at the end of the day quilting is my happy place and I don't need grumpy people like her in my happy place. read more

If you have a service dog or care about handicap individuals skip this shop!! Came to the door a half hour before they closed. The sign said to wait for help. The shop keeper was sitting on a stool doing nothing. She came to the door looked at my service dog in his identifying vest and said she was in the middle of sanitizing and closing. Hard to actively sanitize when sitting down and if you close at 3:30 for sanitizing a half hour before your posted close time shouldn't that be your posted close time? Next time I'll leave my seizure alert dog at home, fall down from a seizure in the store and sue!! read more

The woman is appointment only, scanned my temp before entering, forced me to use sanitizer and then asked if I was vaccinated in order to let me in. What a joke! Talk about living scared. CIVIL WAR PRINTS GALORE For me, this place is tied for 1st place with New Pieces for best quilter's fabric store. They have a h-u-g-e selection of Civil War prints, Batiks, Asian and flannels. They also have smaller collections of "man" prints like deer & ducks, skeleton, pin-up girls, etc. Other prints are very well organized by color with a good eye for shade and hue. I have ALWAYS found the staff to be helpful and friendly (despite the recent 1-star review from RuthAnn). In fact, one time when my boyfriend was late in picking me up, I hung out for about 1/2 hour one of their wing chairs near the entrance and browsed through their books. No hairy eyeball, no dirty looks. This is a fantastic resource for quilters. A true treasure trove. read more

I have purchased fabric from this store for many years. They have a excellent selection of 100% cotton fabric from name manufacturers of quality fabrics. However I was appalled at the store policy when this time when 3 of the 5 fabrics I was purchasing had any where from a few inches to less than a 1/2 yard left on the bolt. Most stores will ask if you want the last of the fabric when it is under a yard for a discount. The larger store policy is usually 50%, a smaller store 25 to 30% discount. I asked the young lady if they had such a policy and she said, quite rudely, no. When I was paying for the fabric I asked that person about the policy and she reiterated the policy. I told them both I felt it was a very short sighted attitude. Having managed a small fabric store I understand that they cannot offer the same discounts as the larger stores. One thing they can, and should, offer is quality fabric and customer service and satisfaction. I left feeling anything but satisfaction. I felt as if my business was not valued or important to the store in spite of the fact I purchased well over one hundred dollars. I purchase a lot of fabric as I make and sell online and want to offer the best quality I can. I doubt I will be shopping at the Quilted Angel again. read more

Absolutely lovely quilting and fabric shop. I stopped in here as there aren't shops like this where I live and I wanted to check out some modern quilting lines. Unfortunately, they didn't have most of the brands I was looking for, but they do have a large range. The staff were friendly enough, but did seem a bit less interested in helping me when I said that I was just looking for whatever caught my eye. All disappeared when I needed fabrics cut, but in the end I got it! A side point - this place smells a bit funky. Which is noticeable. A nice shop overall! read more

I've never sewn in my life. While visiting Napa we stopped at your store and I was bored as usual. My sister and dear friend both loved your store and they wandered endlessly. Finally, I believe it was the owner who looked at me and said "You don't quilt?" I said no...I couldn't put a button on a blouse! She then asked what I did for a hobby. I thought AND THOUGHT. I told her I worked out a lot...I read a lot...I worked...but I truly didn't have a hobby. I loved looking at quilts, but didn't see me ever being able to thread a needle! I told the girls in the car on the way to Napa what this woman had said to me. My sister then said, if you love quilts, there's a simple quilting machine. We bought it on amazon that day. Needless to say my husband was aghast when it was delivered. Well, the rest is history. My sister taught me to thread the machine...and 2 years later I have made several smaller quilts for friends and family. I just finished my favorite quilt that I wanted to make the day I got my machine but my sister told me to hold off and learn how to cut, etc. Well...here it is...and if I could put it on a pole outside my house with a sign that said "I am so proud I MADE this!" I would. Thank you to the woman in the store who asked such a simple question..."what is your hobby?" Well, now my hobby is quilting...and I really do LOVE IT! read more

I will never go there again. I have told everyone I meet what she did and not to go there. Yes it is a beautiful store from what I saw before I was rudely told to leave because of my wheelchair. The owner told me to leave because she felt my wheels were making marks on her rug. The marks were too wide for my wheels but she would not hear about it and ordered me to leave. She refused to apologize even when my friend told her it was not my chair making marks. I was so horrified by the treatment I did not call the police to file a complaint. Challenged people beware and be careful going into this store. read more

Love this place!! Fortunately or unfortunately, I live a couple of blocks away. Their selection of fabrics and tools is awesome. Before I enter the shop I give myself a budget otherwise... The staff and owner are all very knowledgeable & love to share information, advice & opinions. They are very supportive & encourage taking leaps of faith with experimentation. I like to share my projects and get feed back from them. I always learn something new. They have classes and books to help expand one's knowledge. A lovely store ruined by the crabby shrew behind the counter. I have somewhere between beginner-intermediate sewing skills. A nice employee asked me if she could help and I explained I was trying to figure out a few things to tell my husband to get me for Xmas. I found a couple things and took a couple pics with my phone when another woman yelled at me from across the store "Excuse me we do not allow taking pictures of anything!" She glared, she scowled, she scolded. I was stunned. I explained "I was using these to help my husband know what to get me for Xmas..." She huffed "Well..." and continued helping her customer. I said "WOW", replaced the item and muttered "Guess it won't be from here!" as I left. I passed two ladies on the way out, sitting by the entrance and we exchanged looks like "Are you kidding?" While I don't understand the "no photos" rule for a quilting store there certainly would have been a nicer way to say it. Maybe even with an explanation instead of implying your customer knew full well they were committing a mortal sin. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. She lost a big sale, not to mention future sales since she lost a customer, and I will share this experience with everyone I know. I can't remember the last time I was treated so shabbily in a retail environment. read more

I loved this place! Cute fabric shop with tons of current patterns. Most of the back room is sale fabric. They even have man-chairs for when you bring along a boyfriend/non-quilter. I picked up most of the fabric for my mother's quilt here in December and it wasn't nearly as expensive as I estimated it to be.
