This shop is so cute and well organized. The owner was nice and helpful. I came home with lots of goodies.

After I made a selection Amanda measured the cushions that I brought in to tell me how much yardage I would need. After I got her figure, I went to my own upholster to confirm the amount of yardage, as the fabric was $110/yard. Amanda quoted me that I needed 7 yards and my upholster said a little over 1 yard. I ordered 2 in case I needed it for something else. That's quite a difference in price Also, I had ordered and paid for motorized roman shades November 4 that were on sale. I signed a paper with my payment that day. When I called in late December to get an estimate of delivery they could not find the paper that I signed that I would pay for the shades. I already paid in November with my order. So my order did not get started until December 8 as I had to resign their promise to pay contract . Since it takes up to 10 weeks for assembly, I'm still waiting for my shades. Be very careful and don't let them tell you how much you need, get a second opinion.

The only customer-interface (or significant lack there of) is with the store. We had a fantastic experience about 8-9 years ago with custom living room drapes made by Calico, and when we needed new bedroom shades I turned to them. Due to covid, I ordered swatches online and selected the fabric I wanted, then left a voice mail and email that we were ready. The woman who returned my messages was helpful and had good ideas. She arranged a measurer to come and gave us a quote and date by which the coverings would be ready. All good. Then, radio silence. I called and she was never there. The date came and went by months. No return calls. I escalated to a district manager and said to cancel everything and refund my deposit. I received a call back from the store manager who apologized and promised to handle it herself. She said that they looked beautiful and we're almost done, we could have a significant discount, gave us a new delivery date, etc. She promised to call every Friday. She called once, blew through the deadline, we never heard from her but eventually got a call from the installation person. The coverings are nice and we like them. We were charged the full amount. I disputed it with my credit card company and called the store manager. She never returned my call, but the charge was reversed a couple of days later. The final product is nice but we will never go there again! Too bad their customer service is abysmal because the work product is okay.

It won't be a waste of your time. Drop off what is nice but not needed so that someone who really needs it can have it! Note the specific open hours and donations accepted times on their website. Tip re. Dropping off items: Donations are received at the rear of the building, down the immediately adjacent driveway. Back down it if you can. It's difficult to turn a car around at the bottom!

Marin is the Mecca if you are either an ordinary shopper or a reseller in the high-end resale market this is a fabulous cause as well. They dress people who are looking for a new start and help them get professional clothes to go to interviews and such. The donations for the store come from very nice and wealthy donors in San Francisco and other areas of Marin County. The prices here are amazing. I mostly shop for myself but occasionally find something well enough price that I could resell it. They have a five dollar rack where they put everything that hasn't sold in two months. I found some amazing things on that rack today. I also bought myself some lovely things spent more than five dollars of course but not anywhere near the actual value of these designer pieces if you are anywhere near this place, you must stop by and support this wonderful cause.
