I went to Quigley's last week for what I thought would be a quick lunch while at the Ilac Centre. In retrospect I wish I hadn't.
I ordered one of their menu sandwiches which was supposed to be like a Sunday turkey dinner as it was filled with cranberry, turkey, stuffing and cheese. It sounded good so I ordered it on brown bread.
Then the service problems started at happening. The first woman who took my order said she was going on break after having written down my order. The woman who came in for her asked me for my order three times and then walked away after only half making the sandwich. A third person came over and finally finished it and put it in to toast.
After waiting at the til for far too long to pay, I sat down and waited for my sandwich. It was probably ten minutes and only came out after I chased someone down and asked them about it. It came out barely lukewarm and in reality was 90% stuffing, 9% cranberry sauce and less than 1% turkey, cheese or vegetable. It was basically a luke-warm, cranberry-flavoured stuffing sandwich which was really not all that appetizing.
But I was hungry and ate it without complaint. Against my better judgement, I tried to order coffee after my sandwich but as I stood at the til waiting, they were simply too busy cleaning one of the front cases to take my order (they weren't closing for another three hours). After almost five minutes and multiple attempts to get their attention, I gave up and walked out.
Note: This pastries in the case looked quite delicious but I didn't try any. I might give this place another chance as a takeaway for baked goods but I would never order another sandwich from them. read more
