Ok this is a pub that goes a bit beyond the normal pub. It has a full dinner menu and not just bar food. Although if that's what you want it's there. It's very nice cozy place that is extremely friendly. The service WA outstanding. They seemed to group waitress so you're always attended to. The food was very good and was delivered fast and hot. service is AMAZING but the restrooms are small long wait sometimes but it has delicious food. The last time I went it had got hit by a car I was not in the restaurant where it got hit by a car but when they repaired it still was really good opened right back up quickly it was like nothing happened. so good read more

Had a great meal here last night. We got there around 7 and waited for a little while for two seats at the bar. By 8, there were some seats available at the bar and in a booth. Food was delicious and hot and the Guinness was also perfect. Overall would recommend and will be back. read more

We went there for lunch bc I had heard good reviews about this place. First the parking lot is very small, probably hold about 7-8 cars. Street parking was easy to find on a Thur afternoon. However do not park in the lot across the street. Their are plenty of signs warning your car will be towed. As you walk in, you are greeting by the bar patrons, prob the locals. Everyone is so nice in there. We started with potato pancakes and though not on the lunch menu, I also orders wings. The potato pancake was excellent! I think it was the oil they use to fry them. Also the wings were just to my liking. It was deep fried and not wet with sauce. It wasn't too spicy but just enough flavor. They also bring out warm bread which was good. The service was good and attentive. For dinner, we had the chicken pot pie and fish and chip. The fish and chip was very good and fresh. I found the chicken pot pie to lack flavor but my husband loved it. We will definitely be back. read more

Great cozy little place to have dinner. It shoots to be reminiscent of a good irish pub. And it is, to some degree. The decor is mixed with posters of the famous John Wayne film, and Gaelic Irish street signs, and Guiness posters. It's a classy little spot, but the entrees are a little over-gravy'ed. A more traditional irish menu might put this place over to a five...especially if they can find a musician or two to match the ambiance. read more

It looks like it's just a pub from the outside, but the food is way better than most pub-type places. They have a list of daily specials in addition to the regular menu. Either way you go, the food is consistently good. They have the best grilled chopped sirloin - a little retro I know - but it is really tasty and prepared well with mashed potatoes. They are also good at seafood and if you're lucky yours will come with their excellent and simple scalloped potatoes. They have a corn fritter that is addictive and you can get it as a side if it doesn't come with what you're having. Good burgers too. If you can get in, try this place on St Patricks Day. There's a special menu that day and their corned beef & cabbage platter is the best I've ever had. Pasta dishes are usually daily specials and are always well conceived. Quiet man was our favorite local food establishment. However yesterday we had the most embarrassing experience ever. Around dinner time my husband and our 2 children, 8 and 7 year old, decided to go to the restaurant earlier then we typically do- went to dinner around 530 pm. . We were greeted by the hostess and seated in the back room. Then our waitress, comes to our table take me and my girls drink orders but then when she gets to my husband shakes her head and says, " I don't know if i can serve you " goes to back and then comes back out. Goes on to tell my husband he needs to have a shirt on in order to be served, he had on a tank top, so we are both shocked considering we have been there so many other times and no one has EVER said anything to us about his shirts. So, he said okay- I understand and asked about the shirt - if he gets to keep it ... the waitress said no you have to give it back and we wash them to reuse them .... so to make a long embarrassing story short .. we decided it was best to leave... As we were walking out a few other staff came out with shirts saying he can keep the shirts but we just wanted to leave asap.. my kids and myself we just embarrassed and shocked. The waitress kept saying this was a "rule" since the establishment opened 38 years ago and that her dad would be coming in later and he wouldn't be happy so my husband would have to put on the shirt .... So the BIG PROBLEM I see with the situation is number one we go here for dinner at least 1 to 2 times a month and NEVER has anyone said anything about this to us, there are no signs indicting a dress shirt is required to be served, and lastly the hostess should have never seated us if this was " RULE " that has been in existence since the day the "establishment opened 38 years ago". To be honest we just can't help but feel like they just didn't want to serve us and now they have lost our business forever. In the future, in order for this NOT TO FEEL LIKE DISCRIMINATION they should probably put a sign up and make sure all the staff is trained on this "rule" - so that a family doesn't have to be seated then denied service because of a "shirt". read more

Ask me ten years ago (we've been coming here for 20) and it would have been 5 stars. We feel like the place has gone downhill the past three or four years. The fish and chips is always good. Honey fried chicken is solid too. The steaks, which we have always ordered, have gotten more expensive with lesser quality. Chewy and not a lot of flavor. We have been coming here since our first date. Fast forward 20 years and the staff knows us and is wonderful but the owner is downright rude. We don't want anything free but in 20 years we have only missed our anniversary there (it was also the place we got engaged!) twice. Never even bought us a drink. We will still come here. The clams appetizer is amazing and nobody could ever beat their Irish coffee, but we are disappointed more than not lately and it's such a shame. read more

I love it here. It's a cozy and warm atmosphere with a friendly staff. The food is fresh and yummy. My husband and I have been celebrating our wedding anniversary here for the past 6 years, the candle lights on the tables make a really romantic setting. The only downside is the lack of parking space but dining here is more than worth the parking inconvenience. read more

As far as pub style restaurants go, this is one of the best in North Jersey. I'm usually here for lunch and you can't go wrong choosing from the lunch special menu. Came to the Quiet Man Pub today after a long day of my nursing job and couldn't be more happy with my experience. I very rarely yelp and when I do it is to give reviews about a bad experience, but this place was so great I had to write my first positive yelp :) I sat at the bar and the bartender was so attentive and nice. She took my orders at the moment I was ready, gave me a great recommendation on the food and put every condiment in front of me that I could possibly need :) The food was fantastic! It all sounded so great on the menu, so the bartender told me to go with the fish and chips and they were some of the best I've ever had. I got one of their Irish coffees and it was delicious and traditional. Very very happy with my experience, will come here again!! read more
