3/14/26: Danaher's Pub used to be the old "Thatcher McGee's". I'm not a big pub food eater. However, the food was much better than I expected. It was a Saturday night and it was really noisy. Anyway, we were seated right away. The server first took our wine and beer order. We then ordered the French onion soup and the Panko Crusted Goat Cheese Salad with Grilled Chicken. While we were waiting for the food, we needed water. We finally caught our servers attention and mentioned the water. Our food arrived at least 35 minutes plus after ordering. The French Onion Soup and Goat Cheese Salad were delicious. The soup had lots of yummy cheese. The warm crispy fried goat cheese medallions were so darn delish! In the meantime, still no water. We asked the server again. The water finally came. The servers were very friendly. Think the pub could use a lot more servers, particularly on a Saturday night. The inside decor is a bunch of old wood shellacked tables. Think the furnishings could use a major upgrade. The food is what really impressed me. Based, on the good food, I would give Danaher's another try, but not on a busy weekend. A large parking lot is available. read more

Such a great spot overall. If you're looking for good bar food this is it. The owners (from Ireland) are awesome they will walk around to everyone and say hi and just chat. Had the crab cake sandwich which was a special that night it was TERRIBLE!!!! It was probably a frozen crab cake advertised as fresh it was the size of a Half Dollar. They should have been EMBARRASSED to put it on the hamburger roll it was so SMALL!!! It tasted even worse. TERRIBLE!!!!! The waiter recommended it. Plus I paid a lot for it. Was not filling or satisfying!!! HORRIBLE Very upset and disappointed would never go back there!!! Also had the goat cheese salad, which was OK, but didn't have many greens in it. 3/14/24 We usually go to Shannon Rose, but hubby's co-worker told him about Danaher's Pub. So we went and tried. Bar stools were full. It sounded like a local crowd. Some birthday celebrations. We got a table. Hubby got a Blackberry Collin, which he enjoyed. French Onion soup was very cheesy. Hubby loved the cheese. I can't have cheese, but I still order so he can take the cheese, leaving me to enjoy the soup. Very flavorful, I do wish they used less salt. It made me very thirsty. Pork Shank Wings were so good! I do want more sauce to dip. I love an Irish Breakfast, the black and white pudding was so good I wish there were more than 2 slices I'm not a fan of soda bread but hubby loved it, he thought it was buttery and not dry. I didn't care for the sausage. It was very mushy... weird texture for me. Corned Beef and Cabbage was hubby's dish, and he enjoyed it a lot. Service: 2.5 out of 5, food took forever to get to the table , talking about over 30 minutes. Waiter did come and let us know and offered us candy in the meantime. In there defense it was a busy Saturday. Food: 3 out of 5 , food wasn't anything spectacular. My friend said her salmon with rice and veggies was not great. The rice had no flavor. The garlic parm wings were also average. I personally enjoyed the penne vodka but def have had better. The "mai tai" was super strong which I guess is a good thing. rethinking my opinion of this place. was always decent until this past weekend. how do you have corned beef and cabbage on the menu and not have the cabbage properly prepped? it take awhile to cook so prepping is a must, mine came out crunchy. never in my life have i been served al dente cabbage . service is ok if you get the right person, otherwise no one comes to check on you, and we were at the bar so how can you miss us. read more

Food (4.4), ambiance (4.3), service (4.6). Drove by this cool looking building for many years and finally had an opportunity to stop in with a friend. The ambiance is an old fashion Irish pub. Pub lighting and noise level with good energy especially for young adults. At 8:30pm it was slamming with eating, drinking, and this night they had an optional trivia game taking place over the speakers, in concert with your phone. The menu is typical Pub Food but prepared at a higher level than most. We shared the fish bites with one of the many tap beers they offer. The fish was surprisingly fresh and not greasy even though deep fried. I had the Reuben Sandwich which was on toasted rye. It was very good as are their fries. All others I spoke with commented highly about their food selection. A great stop if you are looking for some very good pub food in a real pub environment. read more

Interesting spot. Smells like a hardcore bar. Wasn't expecting to smell stale beer but I also don't expect it to smell like roses either. Food was awesome. I got the sample because I didn't want to go back to work drunk so I let the food help me out. Sadly not good food .we order fish and chip yuck frozen fish stick with gummy batter frozen fries. Corned beef and cabbage ok not great ..the service was good and so was the beer.. They also allow Small children to sit at the bar with both the parents drinking. pretty sure that's illegal and dangerous. read more

I guess I didn't know that Thatchers closed at this spot, my son told me a couple weeks ago. My wife and I were looking Defoe someplace casual to stop in on a Saturday evening and we stopped at Danaher's. I'm glad we did. As soon as we walked into the bar, we noticed it was full. A nice gentleman (with a brogue!) cake over and said he'd make room for us, pulling some stools to the corner, much appreciated! We ordered red wine (wife) and a pint of Harp and looked at menu. We just wanted appetizers so we ordered calamari, fried chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks. My wife thought the fried calamari was delicious and very fresh. All the apps were really good and plentiful. We took some home as well. As with any Irish pub, the service is what you note - the bartenders and staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. There are quite a few options for people in the area, Danaher's really made an impression and for a Boyo like myself, I'll be back to this great spot. Slainte!!! read more

For an Irish pub chain, I give this place 5 stars. I stopped by last night for a gathering with some friends and colleagues, and was pretty impressed. You can definitely tell you're walking in to an Irish pub as soon as you step inside and there's plenty of seating. The waitresses last night were also super helpful and attentive (Melissa and Julie, I think). As for the food itself, I was pleasantly surprised. I usually don't expect much quality with these types of places but the menu had many great options (I had a hard time choosing) all the food that came out looked tasty. I ordered a cheesesteak wrap with thatch fries for myself and I was left stuffed and satisfied. I noticed they had some cool things going on certain nights of the week like bingo and comedy nights so I'm tempted to come back and check those out. Overall, great pub. read more

I came here after work one day, and all I can say is that everything was amazing. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. Our food came out hot and delicious, and the drinks were not skimmed on. It might be easy to miss when driving past, but it is very welcoming once you come inside. The entire place feels very cozy and has plenty of seating. It quickly got busy after the afterwork rush, but that in no way impacted our experience. Since it is so close to where I work, I would be very happy to come here again with friends or co-workers. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch , but unfortunately my dining partner doesn't really eat anything on the menu and didn't want a burger. No steak dishes on the menu! Happily they had plenty of Appys. to choose from that made us both happy! I had the Corned beef rueben egg rolls , they were so loaded with corned beef , they were delish. And the mustard served with them was so very good , kind of a cross of a good brown with a touch of hot Chinese mustard. Yum. The only thing was that a few pieces of the well proportioned serving (4 whole egg rolls) could have been drained a bit more of the oil. I would definitely have this again as it is an entree in itself with enough for leftovers to take home. My dining partner had the Thatch tater tots piled high with bacon, cheddar and a ranch sauce. Very good! And the pretzel bites with cheese dip was the vest pretzel with cheese I have had in a long time. We the French Onion soups as well. The soup was ordinary tasting. Service was very good and the server was very attentive. Being we were there just after opening it was pretty quite with only a few others there. Everyone wore masks. Decided to venture out for a quick bite and drink with the hubby..always wanted to try this place. Seated promptly, outdoor seating is well situated spaced out nicely. Servers wearing masks...decided to order a ruby mule and pineapple mojito...both overly sweet and not much alcohol but still very tasty. I absolutely love this place. I've been to Denville location as well, and I have to say I prefer the Fairfield location much better. I've been here numerous times and each time is a great time. It definitely gets packed on the weekends. I'd say the crowd is late twenties early thirties, however I've gone here a few times where its a crazy good time with a bit of a younger crowd. Sometimes on the weekends they have a DJ, only problem is this isn't really the place where you'd be able to dance really. The staff are all so friendly. Most of the bartenders are straight out of Ireland and are so nice to talk to. After a certain time there is a bouncer checking IDs, but you can still come in and eat if you have younger kids and such I believe. The food is phenomenal. I highly suggest the buffalo chicken dip as well as the thatchers fries...to die for. Last week when I was there I decided to try the Penne Vodka...(i know, Italian at an Irish pub?!) But honestly it was some of the best penne vodka I've ever had. They always have different events and such going on, so be sure to check the website for all the details. Stopped here for lunch with a couple of friends today. Turned out to be a great lunch spot. The menu has an awful lot to choose from and the prices are reasonable. Wow is this place great. After a long weekend my boyfriend and I stopped in here for dinner. We ordered Ruben rolls and the pretzel with cheese as appetizers. They were both phenomenal!
