Love this place! You definitely get a feel of Ireland! The food is excellent and I always walk out of there wanting to go back. The drinks are always done right and the people are friendly. It does get pretty "packed" on the weekends, but it's worth going! read more

This place is great! Its laid back with good food, good service, and good beer. How could you go wrong?! We got the salmon special, the crab bisque, and a Shepard's pie! Even the coffee was delish. Take a trip on over to this place. read more

Dropped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon we found the Quiet Man Pub delightful. Nicely decorated Irish and not over the top, clean and cared for. I had the featured Fish and chips while my wife had the Ruben sandwich. Both were well prepared and tasty. The coleslaw and tarter sauce seem to be homemade. I'm not normally a fan of tartar sauce but this was more of a interesting relish. read more

Arrived to live music and a friendly bartender. Departed with new friends! Love this place. We had the chicken pot pie which was good but the patrons (new friends) suggested the fish and chips next time we come. The Irish coffee - The BEST! People were very friendly and we had a blast hanging out. Prices extremely reasonable too. read more

What an unexpected gem in Dover. Came in for some dinner on New Year's Eve. Received quick and friendly service. Delicious bread to start and hearty entrees after that. Can get a little expensive, but there are affordable options, which make this a great place to stop - especially before or after getting a train at the nearby station. read more

No, no, no. Went here with friends for the first time trusting all the good reviews. The food is nothing to write home about, mediocre if not terrible. But the experience we had is where this place fails big time: my wife ordered the sauteed pork medallions scaloppini. My wife has a mild lemon allergy and NO WHERE in the menu description is lemon listed for this dish. I'll spare you all the reaction my wife experienced from this dish. When the waitress came and asked if my wife wanted her meal boxed as she barely touched it, my wife informed the waitress that there is lemon in the sauce and that she had a mild allergy. Immediately the waitress scolded my wife saying "why didn't you tell me about your allergy?" Finding the waitress's response unacceptable, I looked for the manager (who had left for the evening) and explained the situation to the assistant manager. After speaking with the chef, the assistant manager came over and said that the chef is allowed to use salt, pepper and lemon in any dish without putting it in the menu description and that they did not bear any responsibility for my wife having an allergic reaction. I will say that the dish was removed from our bill, but this experience was unacceptable. read more

We had take out last night, the fried chicken dinner. We've gotten it for take out so many times, always travels well. Last night was not a good night for The Quiet Man. The cook knew the food was over cooked but sent it out anyway. Everything was over done, chicken, fries (they were so hard, they crumbled when trying to pierce with a fork), pineapple ring, potato pancakes. We're all going through this together, shame on you for sending out food that is not up to par. We've been in Dover 30 years, never had a bad meal until now. Very disappointed. read more

Came here while I was visiting my girlfriend after Christmas on Friday afternoon for lunch. Walking in the decor is what I'd grown to expect from any Irish themed bar. We were sat immediately as we walked in and I did not even have to stop at a host stand. Our waitress came over to us after about 5 minutes of sitting there, and was the most miserable human I have ever met in a restaurant in my entire life. She had no personality and seemed like we were doing her a disservice by sitting at one of her tables. We ordered 2 beers, the shepherds pie, and a crab cake. The shepherds pie was mediocre at best, and the crab cake was not worth the $12 menu price. Overall I do not see what the fuss over this place is, and more than likely will not be returning. read more

Just a great pub/restaurant. The food is always very good, service is great (the wait staff has been there for years) and the atmosphere is wonderful. The chef does a great job with both upscale entrees and standard Irish pub fare. Old timers like me miss Frank's presence, but the place has not missed a beat and is still a great place for a delicious dinner, a pint of Guinness and wonderful service. read more

Nice place. Hadn't been there in a long time, but I wasn't disappointed when I came back. Corn beef sandwich was awesome. The place is small, and seating can be a little cramped. Everyone is nice, though. Prices are very fair. Not a bad place at all. read more

Had high hopes for this place. As we drove up, the outside of the pub looked great, kind of quaint. Definitely reminded me of an English or Irish pub. I have just moved to New Jersey with my husband from Seattle and we are always on the lookout for good food. Alas, this was not the place. After reading the other reviews, we had high expectations. I don't know whether we are even talking about the same place! We could not book as there were not 5 of us or more??? So we took a chance and arrived about 6.45 on a Friday night. The place was packed with people who seemed to all know one another. A lot of the women were wearing strong cheap perfume. The menu was large ( always a worry in my book) and I chose fish and chips ( I am English). The fish was frozen and could only be described as flaccid. The chips were ok. I swear if I had closed my eyes it might have been difficult to determine what I was eating! My husband had bony fried chicken with fried pineapple and topped off with a fried corn cake thing in maple syrup. The service was slow and we had a sullen waitress who never cracked a smile. The two stars are for the lemoncello layer cake desert which was excellent! A real disappointment! read more

The Quiet Man is absolutely wonderful with an atmosphere that is cozy and pleasant.. Their menu offers an array of different foods along with deserts that make your mouth water. The hostess and waitress were very good. If you want a nice meal to enjoy Quiet Man is the place‼ read more

My wife and I had lunch at The Quiet Man yesterday. It was Great, as usual.

A cozy place to have dinner. The band is always good and never too loud you're shouting at your dinner date. Their food is always delicious. My suggestion- sit in the bar area to get the best feel for the pub. Eat the mussels and try the soup! read more

Whats is this Boca Raton??? Yes this place is full of ridiculously old people which make turning tables over nearly impossible as it takes most of them a painstakingly long time to try and chew each bite of their fish and chips.....(holy run on sentence batman!) but i digress, it's a cool spot. Nice and dimly lit, live Irish music and the best Guinness pour around in my opinion. The food is very good, especially the shepherds pie. So avoid the dinner rush 3 pm to 6 pm, damn seniors, and grab a spot at the bar on a weekend night. I think you' ll like it. read more

Just stopped for lunch. Very nice Irish pub setting inside. Had the potato pancakes for appetizer. Just like I remembered very flavorful onions inside with sides of sour cream and apple sauce. For dinner I had the Dublin fish and chips. With homemade tarter sauce cooked to perfection. Will definitely go back all the food seemed to be homemade using very good ingredients read more

My parents usually take me here before I get on the train to go back to the city. It is one of my favorite restaurants in New Jersey. it is a hidden gem that does many different styles of food extremely well. Ask if they have the cajun soup as an appetizer. Also, the broccoli rabe is amazing here, but don't fill up too much because they have some of the best desserts! read more

A really fun evening with friends. I was glad someone else was driving after I had the best Irish coffee I have ever had. The food is good, pricing is fair and service is excellent. Doesn't get much better than that. Enjoy! read more

Lovely atmosphere and the staff make you feel like you are amongst family. A bar stool for dinner is my favorite spot but the dining tables are wonderful too. Good stop for a warm meal and relaxing atmosphere. read more

This pub is a little out of place in Dover, which is dominated Hispanic restaurants, but it's a great find. The corned beef sandwich is fantastic and the fish and chips taste almost as good as the ones you get in the UK. It's a small place with a great old-world pub feel. read more

Super food, very pleasant staff and quaint setting. The place is always pleasantly busy, but generally easy to get a table. Parking can be difficult to find sometimes - so be prepared to walk down the street through the neighborhood. Reminds me of the quaint diner and pubs that the area is known for, but this one is one of the better places - no doubt. Two thumbs up. read more

What a find! The pictures don't lie. If you're headed for the Poconos and stuck in traffic on 80, take a break here. Way better than mall options nearby. read more

I been coming to this place for years now, what a wonderful place to kick back in relax n enjoy!

One true test of a fine restaurant is returning after a twenty year hiatus . At the Quiet Man, the food remains delicious and the staff friendly. Specifically, the quiet man steak, the crab cakes, the French onion soup.... Got rave reviews. And, finally, the bartender poured a respectable single malt. After twenty years, she remembered our faces.... It also helps when you go there with Sheila. read more

After posting my disappointment in the last dinner we had there, I was surprised and delighted to receive a response within a few hours. Not only did I receive an apology for our meal not meeting our expectations but was refunded the full dollar amount for the dishes we were not pleased with. The chef had been having some problems with one of the ovens and was why there was a problem. How unusual for a business to respond that quickly with a humble apology and to give a refund without even being asked. Very classy and much appreciated. Way to go Quiet Man! Your establishment is still our very favorite restaurant. Thank you. read more

Great Restaurant!! I went there with my husband for dinner. The atmosphere is pleasant and accomadating. service is excellent!! The food is great and the portions just right. The traditional Irish fare is heart warming and delicious.I Enjoyed delicious tuna while my husband had chicken pot pie.I will be back. read more

The food at the Quiet Man is single-handedly the best food I have ever tasted in my life (10 yrs old ). The waitresses I like the most of all are Laura and Marianne. I wish I could give this restaurant 1,000,000 STARS!!! By Peter Jack read more

This is the place that everyone has heard of, but never been to. The food is excellent and worth the visit. Parking is pretty crappy especially during the day when the street is crowded. The restaurant is small on the inside, but they have a lot of tables. If you have not been here try it. read more

Large portions of great food. I had the shepherds pie, and my wife had lamb. I'll have to take her word for her food, but mine was excellent. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, get there early (before 5:30pm). We visited with friends and were politely asked to leave when we lingered after our meals and coffee for 10 minutes so they could seat others. read more

Best hamburger in the area. best on tap beer in area. Great decour ,very good staff . When the large barmaid is working, bring a coat! We go here on a regular basis. Everything we have ordered has allways been enjoyable. Try the Irish coffee,Delice. read more

Been coming here forever, and that is a good thing. If you are looking for a dark, quant and authentic pub look no further. This is not the manufactured pub environment, but something others would want to replicate. Solid food, great drinks and beer and nice service. Wrap that together with an old school place with character and you have a winner. This is not a trendy hangout...and that is a good thing sometimes! read more

Never a bad meal. Went last night for a late dinner. Started with clams, comes with toast for dipping in the broth, very tasty combination. I had a Reuben one of the many Irish fare choices and my wife had pan seared scallops. Both were great. Of course we finished with some Irish coffee. Another great night. read more

Great food, good drinks. Irish coffee is the best. Place is always packed, because they are

This place is amazing!! Burger was delicious and service was top notch. My only regret was not getting a T-Shirt on the way out!!! I have a feeling I will be back there in the very near future! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, terrible parking and even worse service- to which the food sadly does not make up for. The waitress was rude and impatient. She acted as though it was an inconvenience to take our order and refill drinks. All in all, poor attitude, poor service, poor food. Do NOT recommend. read more

Just consistently good food for fair pricing. Nice menu and staff.

Great meal, staff and atmosphere. Burgers are out of this world, as is the fish and chips. Great beer section, always fresh.

Great atmosphere. Good menu -- though some of the choices appear to be less authentic Irish fare, and more American interpretation of what would be in a pub. Lots of hearty selections. (Roasted turkey, and fish & chips have both been good choices.) Good beers on tap, and a cheerful attitude all around Service can be a *little* slow, though, especially at first. I've sometimes felt like I'd been seated in a closed section for how long we had to sit with our closed menus. But once you're past that, things even out. Incidentally, watch the movie for which this place is named: you'll see the one of the longest fight scenes in film history with John Wayne and Victor McLaglen! read more

I try to go here as often as possible, but sometimes too long of a wait. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS SUPERB!!! I have dropped in, over the many years and I can never complain. I'm Italian and even those dishes come out with me drooling. I looked up the phone # and saw Yelp, so i decided to give a review. I never have much time for reviews and have never given a 5 star rating. read more

Nice place, worth a stop. Lobster-shrimp Angolotti was tasty, service was decent. Nice crowd and live music. Prices very reasonable.
