This review is solely on my experience and not the integrity of the bagel itself. I was fascinated when a colleague recommended this place in Rockford for breakfast and I had no idea what to expect when I pulled up to an old home. When I walked in, I was greeted with delicious coffee aromas being ground while people were buying pounds of fresh ground beans. I was confused about the ordering process, but friendly customers explained the procedure. First, you get in line and pick your drink and order a customizable bagel. I picked a sandwich because I was hungry, so I opted for a full on sandwich. I chose an onion bagel with house-made smoked and sliced roast beef, egg, pepper Jack cheese, horseradish sauce, onion, tomato, and lettuce. Yum! The bagels are homemade and on the smaller side so I was able to scarf down the whole sandwich whilst enjoying a large NOLA coffee brew. All of this came to under $10. A great value and interesting experience. After, ordering you can find a seat and they come find you to come back to the counter to pay. You only pay when your food is ready. Then its cafe seat yourself territory. They also have random items for sale and interesting curiosities hidden in the nooks and crannies of this space. Certainly worth a visit based on vibes and price point alone. the food did not disappoint. Smoked meats for the win!

Always some seasonal roasts too plus a confectionery and bakery . All meats cooked on the egg , take and bake meals too , burritos and shellfish pie ! It's so many things that we find ourselves going often even for a bagel or bagel dog ( good enough for Ginger Zee to serve at her wedding ) if you haven't been you need to go !

It made me miss the Biggby on Lake Michigan Drive; I always had great service there. As soon as I moved to Cedar Springs, you'd better believe my coffee-addicted self was patron-ing this Biggby. At first, I thought nothing would compare to the service I experienced at the Lake Michigan Drive location, but I soon found that the girls who work the morning shifts were delightful to talk with and could whip up my drinks with accuracy and speed. There has only been one time I hit up Biggby during a rush. I waited about 20 minutes, but considering how many people were going through the drive-thru and in the storefront, I feel like that was pretty reasonable. I came out with the drink I wanted. I also like this location since I can sit and do my work there when I need to. It is not too noisy or distracting. Overall, the baristas are pleasant, the service is accurate, and they are usually well-staffed, which helps during those hectic rushes.

But to be honest, she's the only good thing about this location. The lines are typically very LONG and the other employees are not friendly and don't offer good service.

Sue's Kountry Kitchen: A Breakfast Adventure in Cedar Springs. If Cedar Springs had its own cozy…read morespace station, it would be Sue's Kountry Kitchen. Sitting right in the middle of town at 12 N 1st St, this diner has been serving warm, home-style food since 1982. It doesn't try to look fancy or futuristic. Instead, it feels like a friendly ship where everyone knows each other, the walls are covered with fun decorations, and the crew treats you like family. Landing on a Sunday Morning. After church, I stopped in for breakfast. At first, the diner was pretty quiet--about one‑third full. But as time went on, more and more people arrived, until the place was buzzing like a busy command center. Clearly, the locals love this spot. The greeter acted fast, like a well‑trained officer. She took my drink order right away. My large chocolate milk showed up almost instantly in a cold, frosty glass. It was creamy, sweet, and felt like a classic treat from childhood. The Main Mission: Breakfast, I ordered my usual: * Three eggs over easy * Crispy bacon with a crun‑chewy snap * Wheat toast Everything was cooked just right. The eggs had soft, runny yolks perfect for dipping. The bacon had that special mix of crunch and chew. The toast was thick, warm, and toasted just enough. I have a special way of eating this meal. I put an egg onto each wedge of toast, chop it up, dust it with salt and pepper, then fork it into my mouth, one savory bite at a time. The last piece of toast always gets a sweet upgrade. Today, I added both strawberry jam and grape jelly. It was amazing. Service & Atmosphere, the staff stayed friendly and fast, even as the diner filled up. Prices were fair, portions were big, and the whole place had that warm Midwestern feeling--like a safe base after a long journey. Final Verdict, if you want a simple, tasty breakfast that feels like home, Sue's Kountry Kitchen is the place to go. No fancy decorations needed. The food and the people make it shine. Highly recommended for anyone who loves classic diner food done right.

I'd been curious about how the space had been transformed, so Nate and I stopped in recently while in town. The main building now houses a fresh market, coffee shop, gift shop, cider bar, and a bespoke barbershop. There is another building on the premises that is a separate boutique store called Pink & Frillos, but that wasn't open when we stopped by. It's a little bit of a lot of things, but what we experienced was nice. They also rent some part of the place as an event venue. I'm not sure if they still do u-pick apples, hayrides, corn mazes etc. or not. We ordered a meat, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, a couple coffee drinks, and a doughnut. The employees were not overly friendly or even really smiling, so I agree that they could have been friendlier - they all seemed to be high school or college age. Our order was done quickly and we settled in to eat. The sandwich was hot and the croissant was buttery and soft. I really liked the crispy bacon on the sandwich. It was a good portion to split along with the cinnamon sugar doughnut, which was fresh and fluffy. My oat milk latte was decent but nothing special. They use Madcap coffee at Frugthaven. Overall we had a nice time and I'd come back to try the hard cider. There's some outdoor seating and the bar area looked spacious and airy. The old timey barbershop is cool, but feels a bit weird and out of place. Otherwise the other elements of the business seem to fit. They seem to be catering to an older/Millennial crowd that wants a good shot for Instagram, versus the more family-friendly farm that it used to be. Nothing wrong with that, just something to note, especially if you knew it before.

Store does live music Thursday night thru Sunday night. Slept on this review to try to be kind, even the song last night told me to be kind. Waited in line and watch some Barista Ninja make coffee orders and then vanished on our turn. Let's be honest to customers, if you are not the coffee maker warn them!!! Ordered and then he grabbed a bakery item from the chilled case, he was done with me. Then looked at me and said "anything else?". Yep, sure is, he just took my order and forgot, .... was just waiting on my drinks. Then had to tell him what drinks, he then read from a printed off instruction sheet like it was a calculus quiz. On 2nd drink he literally pulled an ice cold cup from the pastry case, which from my view I hoped it came from under it. NOPE. He handed me drinks and as I walked my knuckles were chilled by the cup. Hopeful, I asked husband to tell me if his was hot. NOPE, so mine was a iceberg and pretty sure he royally messed it up as it now is my worst latte in my life (100% coffee could not ever be worse). Yes, worst. I walked back, he looked at me like I was lost, told him they are cold. He stood firm on looking at me with no apologies and I said again they are cold. Still, a look of what you want me to do lady. I put my finger in my drink and said these are cold, just microwave them. They were busy and felt that was fair. Think microwave setting on my chilled cup was 15 seconds. I took them to the table and one sip and blah, chilly and worse latte ever, pretty sure it was 80% milk and a splash of flavoring. The tall male faux barista should be banned from the coffee area. *believe your customer *if you can't make something - don't *coffee cups should not be kept chilled *apologize when you get it wrong
