Service was top notch, and I was waited on with patience and kindness as my tired brain struggled to decide which muffin was the right choice today. Rainforest Blend: The Magnum Coffee Roastery is family owned and was founded by owner "The Big Bean". The Big Bean developed a love for coffee during late night study sessions while in college. I totally relate as college was when I acquired a taste for the drink (except it was before early morning lab). Anyways, this eventually led to him pursuing a master's thesis on the emerging specialty coffee industry. All this was over twenty-five years ago and since then his company has become one of the leading private label coffee suppliers in the country. I've never heard of the company, but I spotted the Rainforest Blend on sale at my local Meijer and decided to give it a chance. The metallic purple packaging and tropical theme were what initially drew me in. I thought the grounds had a fantastic aroma, but the brewed coffee was overall somewhat bland. Who knows, maybe I just got a bad bag? I'll be sticking to my regular brands though as the Rainforest Blend was just okay. Magnum coffee is the best of the best. The roasterie is top notch. There are some roasts I'm not a fan of but this place is constantly pushing the creative limits of coffee and I love it. To this day winter wonderland is my favorite cold weather brew. It is what a chill-in-the-air morning should taste like. The cafe is just ok. It's more of a store. With more seating, more servers it could qualify as a coffee house even, but it's more or less just there to show case what creations come from the roasterie. The servers are great. Drive through, stop in.. heck we order on line and pick up at the window 5-6 bags at a time. If you don't know what you want and need to see it, smell it etc, go inside and look around. Real cool swag in there too. Just be warned that they are BUSY, so don't expect a ton of one-on-one personal service. read more

My local go-to. Great coffee and awesome prices. Staff is always friendly. I do wish they had more options or seasonal mochas (such as a peppermint mocha or pumpkin spice latte). Their frozen magnum mochas are my fav, so good. What a gem!!! This clean and tidy coffee shop has stolen my heart! We stopped in as their whole bean coffee is quite reasonable and my sister in law loves their coffee. Both of us and my other sister in law tried cold coffee and I had a frozen chai. It was A M A Z I N G. The craziest part was it lasted forever- we were driving around and getting in and out of the car and it just seemed to stay cold for a very long time considering the hot day. She treated me to a tin of their Earl grey breakfast tea and I took it home to my hubby who loves tea. Can't wait to try it! read more

We used to live in Las Vegas and visit their store quite often. Many of their custom flavors are the BEST. I really missed their coffee and called their store in Michigan. What great friendly service and yes, I ordered all my favorite flavors! Cant say enough of the fantastic flavors... ordered beans and grind myself. Nunica's best kept secret? Surely the locals know about, and frequent, the place! Why not a more public presence? This place is great, and the public should definitely be experiencing it! The coffee shop is pretty much what you expect upon entering; coffee counter, sweet treats, and things to buy. But in addition to buying coffee beans already roasted and/or flavored by Magnum, you can choose your own green beans, and a knowledgeable and pleasant Magnum associate will roast them to your specifications. The process only takes about 20 minutes. Enough time to browse the store, and of course enjoy a latte or chai! When your beans are done roasting, you can then flavor them, if you wish. The delightful Magnum staff can provide you with flavor options and ideas, but use your imagination and create your own! You tell your marvelous Magnum mixologist which flavor combinations, and they will blend the oils and then saturate your beans with your very own personal blend! I would be remiss if I didn't ensure that you know that the staff here is phenomenal. Pleasant, accommodating, and knowledgeable, we had the pleasure of visiting with a number of Magnum employees and they were all remarkable. If you find yourself anywhere near this gem, and you or someone you know appreciates a good cup 'o joe, stop in and take some of this place home with you. I love the smell here! I went with the 20oz bunny track (caramel, peanut butter, and chocolate) latte. Delicious! The coffee has a nice smooth flavor. I usually like my coffee a little sweeter, but still this is a good cup of mud! They have a large selection of flavored coffee beans and the ability to roast your own mixture, which is pretty cool in my book. And if you're running low on any coffee supplies their gift shop has a large selection of makers. read more

Stumbled upon this Roastery when in town for a wedding- what a great find! There's a little cafe inside but it seems primarily a business. Did a bit of shopping and found the bargain bin where I got 2 lbs of coffee for $10! Also they had some seasonal flavors (this happened to be fall flavors which I love!) the latte of the day was a pumpkin kind- and so delicious! A coffee lovers paradise! This is a large scale coffee roaster with a corporate "store" here - (semi-middle of no where) they have a drive through if you just want a 2 minute quick cup of AMAZING coffee (huge selection of beans, roasts, AND flavors), or go in and if you are a foodie (like myself)...be ROASTED away.... Yes, roasted... YOU CAN ROAST AND FLAVOR YOUR OWN COFFEE, AND I MEAN YOU PICK THE BEAN, YOU PICK THE ROAST LEVEL, YOU PICK THE FLAVORED OILS, THEY BAG IT UP. The roasting... -You'll need at least 20 minutes to roast -Pick your beans - there are at least 10+ types of green beans to select from I would guess. (And that isn't counting decaf beans). The green beans are in the back (where you can't go) they have bins with the beans roasted already so that is where you can see what beans they have for roasting, all are well labeled/described and the Baristas (CAPITAL "B") are super knowledgable and friendly. Depending on if you want to flavor it later or how you want to grind it they'll guide you on bean choice. The roasting is pretty much a watch it happen thing, but the whole process is pretty neat. They use a kind of air roaster that is very visual. You pick how much dark you want it roasted, but you can also just skip the above steps and just tell them you want a nice smooth coffee or bold coffee or what ever you actually like to drink and they will guide you to the bean and roast level! Then pick a flavor oil or several, ANY flavor you might put with coffee, they have it or can whip it up. We came up with strawberry banana pudding with Nilla wafer cookies as one flavor coffee for an example of flavors you can do. Want it ground now? They can do it, but will likely guide you towards a home grinder...which can be a 15 minute lesson alone. So, go here, stock up on some most excellent beans, and support a local biz (and the prices are almost wholesale!) read more
