Located behind a brilliant blue door in those repurposed Black Hills Industrial Buildings is Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Home of the Saturday Experience. Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters is a micro-roaster where on Saturday morning they let guests immerse themselves in the full roasting process, while learning more about the beans and regions of what they are about to drink. If you have been wanting to dive into the mastery of coffee, this is definitely something you will want to attend! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Not a coffee drinker? They also have PREMIUM loose leaf teas! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Check them out!

Absolutely wonderful coffee and fresh tea! They sell bags of beans and roast/grind them for you at no cost. Beautiful handmade mugs. Free samples of everything and a wonderful/helpful/knowledgeable staff. Don't miss this place if visiting grand rapids!

We love this place! We only buy our coffee from here once we found out that they freshly roast and date their coffee! Try going on Saturday during the "Saturday Experience" 10am-3pm! They have three coffees to taste taste and you can pick up a bag or two to go! Craig is so nice and helpful! I definitely recommend asking questions!

I actually found this coffee roaster about two and a half years ago. My love of coffee was forever changed. I used to be one of those people who thought they were coffee snobs while getting whole bean coffee from the bulk bins at Meijer (I chuckle now as I write this). The Saturday Experience is excellent, and I learned so much about how coffee is grown, harvested, dried, roasted, and the different flavors. It truly is a field trip. Craig is a great teacher and is truly passionate about what he does. It shows in the quality of his coffee. It is incredibly smooth, full of flavor, and the customer service is incredible. Come to the shop, meet Craig, drink some of the best coffee around, and you will walk away with a new friend, some knowledge, and coffee to share with your friends and family (if you are willing to share!), and you will easily be able to convert others to REAL coffee. My first purchase was the El Salvador Direct Partnership, and is a great Vienna (smooth bold) roast. I also strongly recommend the Kenya AA, another incredible and flavorful fresh roasted coffee. I could go on and on about all of the different coffees from various regions he has, but you truly can't go wrong with any of his coffees, and you will have to try for yourself!

Have your coffee roasted to order.

This place is incredible. Do you want to know about coffee? Do you want to know what makes "good coffee" good and "bad coffee" bad? Do you want to see coffee roasted right in front of you? Go see Craig at Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters. I had no idea I could love coffee this much. I've been drinking this Costa Rican blend for two weeks now and it is the best coffee I've ever had. Now I can never go back to those freeze dried Keurig pods. There is no bitter, burnt taste. I don't have to add tons of milk and sugar. The coffee here has a lower acidity so it is much easier on your system. No more sacrificing the body to get that daily dose of caffeine. Saturdays people just come and hang out and try all of the amazing coffees and maybe have a donut or two. (Free donuts from Marge's Donut Den? Shut the front door, Craig.) I also tried some amazing blueberry iced tea. Prepare to be overwhelmed by hospitality and free samples, oh, and amazing coffee of course. They are open Saturday from 10AM-3PM or you can call to schedule a coffee pick-up.

This is one of Grand Rapids best kept secrets! During the week they are only open and working for industry professionals buying coffee in bulk and for restaurants-- but every Saturday until 3pm it is open to the public. The place is hard to find, and it is an adventure just getting there. In what looks like an old abandoned warehouse you walk up 5 flights of stairs (follow the smell of coffee) to a room that just smells of roasting cherry pits (coffee). They have free samples of coffee and expresso and the owners/staff are so passionate about what they do that you will be a coffee expert after just one visit. They have 10-15 bins filled with raw unroasted beans and you can get them roasted right in front of you in quantities of 2lbs or more. The variety is great and while you wait you can lounge around on their sofas drinking awesome coffee. It's a fun experience and honestly can't imagine going back to ever buying coffee at the grocery store.

They have brewed coffee, espresso, and americano for people to try to help decide upon a purchase. There's a non-dairy vegan coconut creamer available. Sometimes there are gluten free & vegan cookies. Staff is friendly and patient. Tons of seating available.

Fresh roasted coffee beans made to order! Always pick some up on our way up north! Tried the ginger peach ice tea which was pretty tasty. Cool vibes in this old warehouse setting. Be ready to climb 5 flights of stairs.

I just had the most amazing experience at the Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and help to create a unique customer experience for anyone who walks through their door. I left with a greater appreciate for quality coffee and will savor each sip of coffee a little more thoughtfully. Thank you Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters for a rememberable Saturday morning.

Spectacular, unfound little roaster that offers the ability to customize the roast and beans you want. No one else does that.

Besides coffee, they have wine, beer, pop, and kambucha. I got the masala chai, which was nice and not overly sweet. For meal I got the hippie ki yay, and I enjoyed that flatbread, it is vegan. The spinach dip is also good but different than what you'd expect. It is not too creamy and has a little tangy taste. But I liked that a lot, so I enjoyed it. The ambiance is lively and energetic. There's a lot of seating available, and different types including a massive couch. It is noisy in there with everyone talking, but I dont think its too bad if you want to study there. They do have a stage where they have bands perform, they also have trivia nights. I hope to check out one of the trivia nights. There is a decent size parking lot in the back. This parking lot was filled on a Tuesday night, so its definitely a spot to go and check out. This is one of the best places I have been to in GR! Highly recommend it!!

We were on the SW of town and thought we would try someplace new. We will now find a reason to go here again.

I got an iced latte, and Nate got an iced vanilla latte. Their coffee is air roasted, which apparently means it's less acidic. The people working in the truck were friendly and very kind. Our drinks were made quickly and I loved the compostable cups and straws! I'd never seen those before and thought they were very cool. The latte mostly tasted like oat milk to me, without much coffee/espresso flavor. It was good but not quite what I'm used to for a latte. I'd definitely try some of their other drinks in the future. They were also selling bags of coffee and I liked the Star Wars themes!

They also offer their coffee ground or in whole bean bags to take home. They roast their coffee in small batches, so you always know it's fresh. What caught my eye initially were the fun names for their different blends. As a Star Wars fan myself, I couldn't help but appreciate the clever play on words they use in their marketing. I also like that they offer a subscription in a reusable canister either in one or 2 pound sizes. Three cheers for sustainability! They also have been known to offer hot chocolate mixes, and are growing their wholesale business becoming the supplier for several locations around Grand Rapids. Ed, the roaster and coffee connoisseur extraordinaire is knowledgeable friendly and will also deliver your order for a minor delivery charge. I cannot recommend them enough they literally make my morning!
