You know, kids have it hard enough these days but when you add in ANY type of illness it just makes it that much worse! So I'm hoping to make a beautiful and tasty cake for this young lady turning 13, whose friends regularly eat sugar filled cake. Of course Meijer doesn't sell these cakes and I'm not a professional baker but if I were I would certainly try to accommodate my customers if I didn't carry something they needed. Long story semi short... you can't SELL a cake board and plastic cover to a customer who is making something you don't? Really? First off way to fail at customer service! Second, I HATE Walmart but at least I can buy a plastic/cardboard cake plate from them!! Update: Meijer contacted me and apologized for this encounter. They stated normally they would not sell their supplies but in certain cases a team lead should be consulted. He stated in this case they would have sold me one cake board and dome. I really appreciate that they did this and they also stated they would bring this up with the staff working that day to clarify. In either case, I still made this girls cake and it turned out great!

I rolled in with my crew, ready to eat, and from the very first sip of Turkish coffee, I knew we were in for something special. This wasn't just coffee--it was a bold, rich, straight-from-the-gods experience, brewed right at our table. I took one sip and instantly felt smarter, more powerful, and possibly able to predict the future. It paired perfectly with the appetizers--hummus, pita, grape leaves--each bite making me question why I don't eat like this every day. Then came the lamb shank. I barely touched it, and it fell apart like it had just received life-altering news. So tender, so juicy, so perfectly seasoned that for a moment, I forgot where I was. It was that good.
