The milk tea here leans way more on the sweet/artificial side, but it's a nostalgic boba spot for me. A nice refresher if you need a sweet drink while exploring Chinatown. More affordable than other boba spots.

Taro milk tea

Great hidden establishment in Chinatown. Customer service was great and they had our order ready in a reasonable amount of time. The food is made to order and was fresh. It did not taste as it's been sitting under a heater for hours. I really appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant. I will be coming back when I'm need of a cold drink.

Wanted the classic boba and popcorn chicken combo and was fortunate to have found Quickly. This place is not only affordable but so delicious. Had a taro milk tea with grass jelly at 25% sweetness. It was just right. The showstopper was the spicy popcorn chicken. Spicy was optional. They give your a good amount to the point it made my partner and I full. The chicken was juicy with that perfect Taiwanese seasoning.

Haven't been to quickly in a few years, it's gotten smaller in store size. Still a nice ambiance, calm atmosphere, stereo sound could get some fixing, otherwise nice place to grab a quick refreshing drink! Popcorn chicken was yummy 7.5/10 boba 9/10 the barista was friendly and handled my food with care.

Squid Balls and Strawberry Banana Smoothie

I like to pass by this boba place during my day off from college. The service was great and friendly cashier. My favorite drink is strawberry banana smoothie and I like their foods as a snack appetizer, especially I like their squid balls.. While I'm there they had a outlets to plug to charge your phone or ur devices.. I will always pass by this boba place.

Quickly offers tasty and affordable bento boxes, especially the fried fish fillet with minced meat sauce, boiled egg, broccoli, and rice--an amazing deal! The fried dumplings are delicious, and the milk tea is refreshing. Great value with generous portions!

Large avocado smoothie with boba (L) and regular house milk tea with boba (R)

A boba and cheap eats hidden gem in Chinatown! Walking in, I found the interior to be very mom and pop like which is a good sign. I got the house milk tea w/ boba and it was solid, but my dad got the avocado smoothie and it was very good! It was made with fresh avocados, was smooth and not icy, and not too sweet. It reminded me of one of my childhood favorites, cold avocados mashed with condensed milk and it tasted like that, but a smoothie version. The boba was also so cheap, $3.65 for a small milk tea like you don't see prices like that for boba nowadays! I also wanna try their food one day which looks good and cheap.

Ordering was straightforward, and the staff were really helpful in explaining how everything works and pointing out some of their more popular dishes. I went with the pork belly and rice, and it ended up being a really satisfying meal. The ratio of meat to rice was just right, and the refreshing cucumbers added a nice crunch and freshness that balanced out the richness of the pork belly. I honestly thought I wouldn't be able to finish the whole plate, but somehow I cleared it! The interior has a cozy, nostalgic feel that almost reminded me of being at Grandma's house. It can get a little warm inside despite having AC, but it wasn't enough to take away from the experience. I also liked that water, utensils, and napkins are self-serve after you pay, which keeps everything simple and convenient. Overall, a delicious and comforting meal with helpful staff, generous portions, and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving something hearty and satisfying.

But I was glad I came to this place. Love the atmosphere. It was energetic, a bit loud, and has a cooled retro night bar with neon signs. The alcohol display behind the bar was a spectacular view/design. It's high, making it looking pretty against the dim backdrop. We ordered four dishes, Dan Dan Mian, sichuan eggplant, chili wonton, and duck bao. The Dan Dan was unique. I didn't expect it to be spicy like all the other ones I've tried. But it was amazing! All of them were! Reservations are strongly recommended since it gets filled up pretty easily. Lastly, I want to give our waiter, Peter, a huge shoutout for being so attentive and engaging. He was on top of it! Great energy and very friendly.

There must have been 3-4 parties. That night the hostess divided diners and bar patrons between the "two rooms" (the restaurant has a bar in the middle that divided the room.) We let the hostess know that we were a party of two and she seated us between two large groups in the "other" room. It was weird seating to say the least. Our table was at the curve or the booth seating and was too close to another seated party. You needed to squeeze in to get to the booth seat and my +1 volunteered to scoot in a tight pathway. Because we were between the two groups, it was extremely loud. The restaurants aesthetic is really hip. I don't remember the space at the entrance, but the room that we were in had an eye catching mural and the booth area that we were seated in made a face (with the wall being a pair of eyes and the two long booth seats meeting to make a nose.) Unfortunately, lighting was very low and I could barely see the dishes for the second half of the meal. Food was tasty. We ordered the XO fatty noodle (no bean sprouts), orange chicken and Sichuan eggplant. Everything came out hot once they were ready. I had to hold back from eating all of the orange chicken. The XO noodles, not sure if it was because we customized the dish, was too salty though.. Staff were calm to expressionless. Person who came for the bill was wiping our table while we were packing our leftovers. I didn't appreciate how they stayed with us when we were paying on their handheld machine. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but did not have the best dine in experiences.

The braised pork belly was so incredibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth, and paired with the pickled carrots and cucumbers tucked into that steamed bao bun - so juicy. We also got the scallion pancakes which were crispy, chewy, and came with a soy ginger dipping sauce. The wood ear mushroom and bean curd stick salad was a nice lighter contrast to the heavier dishes too. We tried the beef noodles as well. The noodles were a bit on the tougher side, which is kind of expected with this style, but the flavors were solid overall. But do NOT sleep on dessert. I had to order the deep fried bao bun with ice cream scoop inside and it was delicious. Absolutely worth saving room for if you're looking to end your meal off with a sweet treat! Kato Overall Rating:…read more(5/5 Stars) Sometimes a fine dining restaurant in a strip mall serves you some of the best Taiwanese Californian fusion food you've ever had. And you leave thinking, wow, how incredible is it that I get to travel, eat, and experience the minds of chefs this talented? Kato was one of those meals that reminded me why I love doing this. 7 Course Experience-$285 I chose the traditional 5-course Bar Tasting Menu at $185, but when I was presented with two add-on courses that screamed my name, obviously I had to try them. I'm already in LA. When will I be back? We listen and we don't judge. This meal was a rollercoaster of flavors that took me through texture, simplicity, spice, and freshness. Each dish genuinely made me smile. Some sounded almost too simple on paper, but once I tasted them, it was clear just how much thought, technique, and care went into every bite. The flow of the meal made sense, and nothing left me feeling confused or out of whack, even with the additional courses. The portion sizes were also perfect. I even took home the bread and liver spread, which became my 3 a.m. snack after dancing the night away. No regrets. This was the kind of meal that simply made me happy. Creative without trying too hard, thoughtful without being pretentious, and delicious above everything else. I completely understand why Kato has two Michelin stars. Service This was my first Michelin tasting experience sitting at an actual bar, and I loved it. As a frequent solo diner, I usually enjoy watching the kitchen work from the chef's counter, but this time I got to watch the bartenders create drinks throughout the night. It was such a fun change because cocktail-making is an art of its own. Even better, they took such wonderful care of me that I genuinely couldn't stop smiling. Disclaimer: These are my personal opinions. Please try these restaurants and form your own judgments--it's what I would do.

Date of experience: July 16, 2026…read more This review is a little overdue, but because this is a Michelin two-star restaurant and it was an important dinner, I wanted to share my experience. I came here with two VIP guests for a special dinner. Unfortunately, experiences like this make me question the credibility of the Michelin star system. Based on this particular evening, I simply could not understand the two-star rating. For three guests, we had the tasting menu, one wine pairing, one non-alcoholic pairing, and an additional glass of Sauvignon Blanc. The total bill, including gratuity, was approximately $1,900. At this level and price point, I believe it is fair to judge the restaurant by a much higher standard. Food: From beginning to end, too many dishes tasted surprisingly similar. The same flavor profiles, seasonings, and familiar ingredients seemed to repeat throughout the meal. After several courses, it became monotonous. When dishes are presented in such small, precise portions, I expect extraordinary attention to detail, contrast, creativity, and variety. Unfortunately, I did not experience that here. Wine pairing: The pours were extremely small. In the middle of one course, I politely asked the server, with a smile, if I could have just a little more. His reaction made me uncomfortable--he gave me what felt like an unfriendly look and poured only a few additional drops. I have dined at Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, and I have rarely experienced such a stingy atmosphere surrounding a wine pairing. Service: This was perhaps the biggest disappointment. The service did not feel particularly warm, gracious, or attentive. The restaurant was only about one-third full that evening, and several staff members appeared to be standing around, yet I still had to call someone over to ask for water. When dishes arrived, the explanations were very brief, and the server would quickly disappear. At a two-star restaurant, service should be an important part of the experience--not simply the delivery of food. Atmosphere: The restaurant itself is minimalist, clean, and modern, which I appreciated. However, I also felt the staff attire could be more polished and refined to complement the level of dining experience the restaurant is trying to provide. Earning two Michelin stars is an extraordinary accomplishment, and I respect what that represents. But with a nearly $1,900 dinner for three, expectations are understandably very high. I hope the restaurant continues developing the menu, retrains its service staff to provide a warmer and more gracious experience, and pays greater attention to the small details that distinguish a very good restaurant from a truly exceptional one.

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity.
