My rotors were scraping and making loud crunching noises as I nursed my vehicle into the Comfort Inn late Friday evening. I thought that the chances of getting my car fixed in a small town on Saturday morning were slim. Boy was I wrong! The nice counter person at the Comfort Inn (great room by the way) recommended Double D Tire and Towing. I called them at 8 am Saturday morning and they said "bring it right in". One of their servicemen, James, diagnosed the problem right away and I asked him if they'd be able to repair it that morning. He said it shouldn't take long. I stepped out of the garage to call my girlfriend and by the time I got off the phone, less than half an hour, they had me off the rack and ready to roll. I went in to pay the bill expecting the worst. I've been in situations before where I was from out of town with car problems and they know they've got you over the barrel as far as price. Well not here. The cost for fixing my car was incredibly reasonable and probably less expensive than if I'd fixed it at home with someone I know. I drove away from Big Stone Gap with a warm feeling about the town and its hospitality and a deep sense of gratitude for a repair service that took care of me in a big way! I had no way of getting in touch with the owner to get my car out, so I went and picked it up expecting a bill in the mail since I could not get in touch with anyone and it wasn't booted or gated. Anyways, so instead of simply reaching out to me on Monday about the car being missing, they reach out to the police department ON THURSDAY of that week to report it stolen. Long story short, the police called me because they were trying to press charges because I apparently stole my own car from them, so I went and paid it that very next day and they charged me 310.00 because my car was supposed to sit there for 5 days ( it only sat there one day) . The owner was rude and the lady in the front acted like a total jerk. DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE, AND DO NOT TRY TO HELP YOU. THEY ARE ONLY OUT FOR YOUR MONEY. PATHETIC

I turned to Yelp for help. Within 15 minutes of submitting a request, Phil called me. He carefully listened to my concerns, reviewed the videos I sent, and offered honest advice. He explained the worst-case scenarios but also talked about potential minor issues that could be causing the noise. Phil's honesty and transparency immediately put me at ease. He told me to bring the car in first thing the next morning. When I arrived, Phil made me feel right at home. He took a thorough look at my car ("Betty," as I call her), and without hesitation, called his buddy to deliver the timing chain guide. While working on my car, Phil explained what went wrong and showed me the worn-out parts. He even took us on a test drive to make sure the engine was okay and topped off my oil. This company will not guarantee their work. Installed a starter on my daughters jeep in August. My…read moredaughter came home which is 3.5 hours away within the year warranty and the starter went bad. We had to get the starter repaired here to get her back home. Took the original starter back to Rogers Auto Sales and Service (advise of the garage that fixed her car and charged me $150 LESS than Rogers) for a refund. Rogers would only refund what he PAID for the starter, would not guarantee the profit he made off of the starter. Told him I didn't even want the labor money back just what WE PAID for this part. He told me I could take what he was offering or not that he didn't OWE ME ANYTHING. DO NOT GO TO THIS GARAGE. He is lacking basic business ethics. You can't trust him or his work. I was told that the starter that he put on my daughters jeep was the lowest quality of starters. He charged me $375 to have this done in Wise and when we had it done locally they said at MOST anyone should ever charge is $300. I actually paid $261. He is a RIP OFF.
