Came in today 4/29 and tried to check in for my appointment and noticed a hand written sign on one of the ipads saying "closed wifi not working". Assuming this meant the Ipads weren't working, I successfully checked in on my phone via the text I received. After waiting a few moments, another patient who had been waiting before me knocked on the exam door because he was also having trouble checking in. An employee came out and rudely said "didn't you read the sign" the gentleman and myself asked if that meant that they were unable to honor our appointments and she snarked back saying "well no wifi means no work". I walked straight out because does no wifi also mean no customer service? Give me a break! read more

I was at quest yesterday. I got there at 9:30 AM. And then I proceeded to wait for over three hours. I am aware that as a walk-in, I was not given priority as those who had made appointments. However there were people that I spoke to that were behind me on the list that were given priority over me. I am a person with permanent and life-shortening disabilities-- I sat there for over three hours. Eventually, I had to bring up enough courage to knock on their door and ask to use the restroom. I say courage because I watched other people knock on the door to ask why things were taking so long--they were greeted with a nurse yelling at them to have a seat and that their name will be called when it is called. I was in the restroom for less than two minutes, and while in the restroom, they apparently took my name off the list. So when I returned to the lobby and took my seat. I noticed my name was no longer on the list. I then had to knock and wait at the door because there is no desk, there is only a front electronic kiosk for you to sign up at, I had to ask about my name. I was not greeted with respect or concern or empathy. Just someone yelling at me to take a seat while I was trying to explain to them how my name had been taken off the list and I was only gone for two minutes and I wasn't even number one on the list, I was second. The nurse Shouted down the hallway at the other nurses asking if they had called my name. I had been second on the list for over an hour. I was only gone two minutes, the same nurse who took me off the list is the one who showed me to the restroom. I never complained. I sat there for over three hours. I was extremely late to get back to class. I had to fast, and hadn't eaten anything for over 72 hours. All I could have was water, I just needed to use the restroom. I'm not sure if they were discriminating against me for being disabled or my age/ethnicity/sex/ect, But I did not feel that this place is a welcoming environment or operates empathetically. People are in there to have blood drawn--not for fun, but most likely because most of us are suffering from health related illnesses, you'd think they would operate more efficiently and empathetically. Lots of chairs spaced along the walls. The staff are friendly, professional, and skilled. The automated check-in is quick and easy to use. Without an appointment you might wait for a bit, but with one, I am usually in and out in a half hour or so. read more

The service was amazing. I did show up as a walk-in so I ended up on the standby list. The wait was what I expected, so I have zero complaints about that. What I wanted to spotlight was how amazing the service was when I was seen. I was called back and seen by Melinda (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She was so professional and kind AND QUICK! I hate going to get blood drawn because my veins are small and people often struggle ending up poking both my arms then both hands without success. Today I went in to Quest on Loma Vista and was seen by Joyce R who found my vein and drew blood in lightning speed with ANY more than an initial poke! I was in and out of Quest in less and 10 minutes and zero bruising! If you need blood drawn and others have struggled to take your blood, go see Joyce R at Quest on Loma Vista!!! My blood was taken 3 and a half weeks ago and still no results on the website (says pending). Impossible to reach a real person to complain about this at this time. I did manage to reach someone last week and they said to "wait another day or two". I am stuck and I am blaming this lab in Ventura for this because I've never had any issues with other quest labs at other locations. Talked about being short staffed, well maybe if your staff weren't in the back screwing around you would actually see the patients !!!!When they were all in the back talking to 1 patient it doesn't not take 4 "doctors" if you can even call them that, to pull blood work from one person. I usually don't use Yelp for many things but my experience this morning was not what I expect or have ever experienced. It was impossible to book an early morning appointment, so I took my chances to walk in around 6:30 am Fortunately I didn't have to wait very long. My phlebotomist was very professional, efficient but not friendly at all, borderline rude! I have never experienced anything but warm and professional service from this location and I have always given it 5 star ratings. Whomever was my phlebotomist was unlike anyone I have ever dealt with at this office! I will always use this office for blood work, I just hope I never encounter this person again! I needed a TB test and made an appointment online a couple of days before. Arrived and waited in the waiting area (fyi there is no human present here, just loud TV screens talking about Quest services). Eventually got called to the back and the woman asked for my "order". I told her I just had a TB test that I scheduled online, I wasn't sure what she was talking about. She seemed to be frustrated and mad at me? In a flustered way she showed me an example of a doctor's order which she apparently needed to be able to do my TB test. So I told her I guess I would go get one but I don't have a primary physician so where should I go? She said "I don't know. Go to an emergency room. If you come back later today maybe I can still do the TB test." This entire time she looks very annoyed. So I left and googled where I could get this TB test doctor's order. I called Ventura Urgent Care and their staff clearly explained that they can do a walk-in TB test for a flat $50 fee. Long story short, don't waste your time with the unfriendly, unhelpful people at Quest. Will not be returning. read more

Booking an appointment took far too long as the automatic phone system could not understand what I was saying when trying to spell my last name and there is no opportunity to discuss anything with an actual human. Phlebotomist was unprofessional during my appointment and was talking nonstop about getting drunk with friends, his buddies' close DUI encounter, and his upcoming drinking plans the majority of the appointment. He was even joking about being drunk at work more than once. He then had a hard time with the actual blood draw, threw multiple samples away, and had to switch to my other arm. I've never had these issues during a blood draw before, so don't believe it is on my end. 4 days later and I still have a giant bruise on my arm. read more

This place is a joke. I waited 3 hours to be seen only to have a woman walk out and say no more standby patients would be seen because they close soon. Mind you, they only took 1 standby patient during the 3 hours I waited. I reminded her I had been waiting 3 hours to which she replied that they had a couple difficult draws. The first appointment I made, I waited over 30 minutes past my appointment time and finally left because the waiting room was packed with angry people waiting past their appointment times and the staff was stressed trying to keep up adding to my stress and anxiety and making me not want to have a rushed blood drawing. I thought it was just a bad day so I rescheduled and went back a few days later and it was even worse. When I arrived, people with appointment times 50 minutes before me were still waiting to be seen and there was no room to sit. Quest seems to be overbooking beyond their capacity and making their patients and low level employees pay the price. read more

Marie with Quest Diagnostics on Loma Vista in Ventura, CA should not be in healthcare -- she's the absolute worst. Rude, accusatory (told me my insurance wasn't real only to be able to find it within 2 minutes of actually trying....) and blatantly could care less about her patient care. After fasting for 12 hours in preparation for my test (I'm 8 months pregnant so fasting is harder than usual) Marie tells me that I can't be seen because she doesn't work past 5 - my appointment was scheduled for 4:10. For all locals, this place just isn't worth the convenience. Save yourself the experience. read more

I schedule my appointment using my phone, check in using their user-friendly check-in screens upon my arrival, and am in and out in less than 20 minutes, at the most. The staff here is AMAZING. I took my 2 year old in who has been getting blood work since he was born, so is now more cognizant and emotional about the process. They came together to distract and entertain him. They were able to get a line going right away and when he made it slip out they were on it and tried a different position. They kept me smiling and calm too which really helps in these situations. I cant say enough about the level of care I received here. read more

I'm concerned about the cost of my lab work. I had mostly routine blood work done on 9/7/22 with the addition of Vitamin D and Parathyroid hormone testing (four vials of blood drawn). The charges came to $1,133.22 for "self-pay" (no insurance billing). Four years ago, I had exactly the same tests done at Pacific Diagnostic Laboratories and it was less than $360. Have prices gone up that much in the last four years? Or is Quest just VERY expensive? The service was good but so was PDL. read more

I've had very good experiences at this location, so, accordingly, I award the highly coveted 5 Yelp stars. *wink* As a matter of practice, I schedule the appointments online, drive over, park the car, electronically check myself in at the receptionist desk, and wait mere moments to be shuffled into the back to have my blood drawn and, if ordered by the doctor, a urinalysis sample. First I would like to say Melinda is a very warm and kind person, very nice! I have been coming here for years with no problems, walk in and get tested within 20 minutes! I guess policy has changed you now need an appointment which I was not aware of, supposedly my doctor had scheduled the appointment, so I thought. I showed up a little after 6 am. Almost 2 hours later I was still waiting to get the blood test! Yes sitting in the waiting room for almost two hours watching about 30 people come in get their test and leave! Finally I spoke up to Melinda and explained that I had a doctors appointment at 8 am. She took me in and performed the blood test, I have to say she was very nice, she should be given a raise! Today 8-22-22 I walked in a few minutes before 9am calculated I would be in and out within half hour or so, First the machine didn't want to work to sign in so the girl came out to help the couple next to me, then she popped over to me and helped me, at least I thought so, then she says to fill in the blanks, then I waited and waited 45 minutes plus, I was taking time for how long average person went in, then 4 customers came out, 8 minutes later one got called in? another one 12 minutes later was called in, so now in my mind, 2 were not doing anything? waited another 5 minutes and one more was let in, THESE PEOPLE WORKING THERE DO NOT CARE ABOUT WALK INS, ONLY THE ONES WITH TIME SCHEDULE.
