Despite all the negative reviews, this is my first time getting my blood drawn here. I'd say it's not as bad as people say, especially if you come prepared like I did. I made an appointment for 10.30am so it's not that early and it was the only couple slot available. I showed up about 20 mins earlier to check in. They called me in at 10.32am. I didn't have to deal with any insurance problems that many of reviews mentioned. I bought all my tests online and print out my doctor order. Got in the office, got it done within 5 minutes and bam! some of my test results came online that night. Oh and btw the phlebotomist was a pro. The pain was bare minimum, almost didn't feel a thing. All I have to say is for you to come prepare as much as you can and the process will be smooth then you'll be out in no time. read more

This is a large location with many phlebotomists, I had an appointment so they got me in right on time. Have to give a special shoutout to JC for taking good care of me today, I had to get many vials taken and almost passed out and he talked me through the process and kept me calm while I wasn't feeling well. It's been years since last I visited this Quest location. It has changed a lot. The reception area and the mean receptionists are gone. Last time, I visited there were two ladies working the desk that were really rude, I am so glad that this location is self service now. I went to this location to do some blood work. Luna was really nice and helpful. She explained the process and how it works. She was very gentle with blood drawing process. She found the vein quickly and boom it was done. This Quest location is clean and restrooms are cleaned too. I highly recommend making appointments because without appointment. It can be a long wait since this location gets really busy. If I could, I would give 10 stars for friendliness and helpfulness of Luna. This location has private parking lot. read more

Came here for my first time without an appointment and I waited 35 mins which is great check in process was easy . Then I had Steve draw my blood and he did a fantastic job I didn't feel a thing . I still have a great experience when I come to this Quest Diagnostics. I come once a year to do my blood work for my physical. I come to this Quest Diagnostics location because parking is free and in a decent parking garage. You have to remember to always make an appointment which can be done online or over the phone. If you don't then you might wait a while in person. I saw a lot of people not happy about the wait when they didn't have an appointment. I made an appointment on the website and got sent the check in link on the day of my appointment. You can check in when you get to the place through the kiosk but if they are busy then there might be a line. The staff were always wonderful with me and I never had an issue. Just understand that they are overworked and understaffed so they have a tough job dealing with angry people. read more

Love this place , you MUST make an appointment before you go as they get super busy. With an appointment I was out of there in 15 min Umlesh is the best . She was funny and made me at ease. Came here for simple blood work and it was just a huge go around of trying to send them my authorization all because their email to send them the PDF kept blocking my email from sending it. After almost 45 minutes of doing this i was told there was a time limit to how long they could keep my appointment going until they need to see other patients. The email not going through is what kept me from doing my bloodwork. So a fair warning to all who go to Quest Diagnostics make sure you have a physical copy of your authorization or have it sent to the office before going to avoid this hassle. I will not be returning or having any other work done here or in any other Quest Diagnostics facilities. Only thing I can say is to fix your email so it doesn't block important emails coming in. I just wanted to come in for a liver test and their website is very confusing number one but also when you call to find out, there is no way to speak to a person. They might be very good. I don't know they definitely have the monopoly on Van Nuys. This place is an absolute joke unless you have an appointment don't even bother showing up because you'll have to wait for hours. And even we need to have an appointment I have small veins and the lady had to go and ask for a butterfly needle then she couldn't find the vein Two times so she had to go wait for 10 minutes to get another butterfly needle because they don't keep them stocked at their stations and I'm still sitting here waiting to see if she can even find a vein. My mom's review: I arrived on time for my appointment & when i was called for my appointment, ( the attending lab staff for my blood work , his name is juan carlos) i was asked to stepped out in order for me to email the paper work lab test request . so i complied with the help of my son but i recalled the last time i had my blood test here at the same place - Quest Lab Van Nuys - they attended me still while i asked my son to email the request unlike today). but the problem started when i felt shaking & i felt my head & neck started excruciatingly painful coz i have to eat already bcoz since 10pm last night up to 9:11am ( that's the time i looked when i walk out bcoz it looks like they still asked me to wait). so before this incident ( the walking out) , i noticed that it's almost like 7 patients already went inside & being called as opposed to me still left out to wait. so i asked the attending lady staff who was about to call another name & not me to request them to please call my name & be attended bcoz my body is shaking already & my head & neck were in excruciating pain ( but i only felt this way when i'm so hungry already & so this is bcoz i'm fasting a long time already) suddenly, "juan carlos" came near & asked me if i send already the paper work & this made me really upset bcoz isn't it he should monitor if it went thru already to their system ( specially it only takes a minute i'm sure bcoz our online registering when i arrived ( again my son help me) took only about less than 2 mins . & i recalled that juan carlos saw me emailing it with my son coz i glanced back & saw him watching us do it then he called another patient in lieu of my place. i want to emphasized that juan carlos no need for him to sent me outside again just for that menial task , that the incident/problem could had been prevented if only "juan carlos" went an extra mile to serve me excellently , the way i was attended before ( that they still did my blood test while my son emailed it -actually , the last time, my son had emailed & they received it already before they even started to extract blood samples & even before my BP & Pulse rates were completed . recalling that situation to compare to what i suffered gave me a clearer complaint that what "juan carlos" made me to do was just so unnecessary & the way the lady supervisor ( i believe she's a supervisor to intervene like that ) only escalated the problem rather than help minimize it. so i'm rating my visit to this laboratory - QuestLab - Van Nuys . . . ZERO ! 0! btw, i'm a 64 year old senior , that's why i have my son to assist me bcoz i'm not driving & not tech savvy . so i called my doctor & ask him to re-schedule me but please, PLEASE, anywhere than this Quest Lab -Van Nuys who by now with " In-efficient - lazy staffs " juan carlos, the lady staff whom i asked for help & another lady staff seems the supervisor for her to intervene & by the way, she said that i raised my voice , but it looks like she didn't notice how she yelled almost screaming on me as she towered to intimidate me so i'll stop talking - so i have more sense to go already bcoz when she told me to still wait after i told her that i'm shaking already & afraid to faint , well, i think this complain is necessary then . Medical employees work really quick as in McDonalds but they don't understand what lab tests should be on empty stomach. Whole lab has very bad system of making an appointment, they auto appointment robot through phone is pain. Don't use it. It doesn't provide you option of many slots. Find fasting morning appt on the online scheduling is impossible especially if it has to be done by 9:00 and you don't book a month ahead. They said they take walk ins. I got here this morning and the line was about 10 people out the door! We left and went to the other location about 2 miles away on Van Nuys. There was 1 person with an appt ahead of me and then another person on wait list ahead of me. They are understaffed, there's no interaction with anyone and in that 30 minutes I had left before our time ran out they did not get to us. Such a shame my insurance prefers quest. I made an appointment for labs. When i arrive i drove around and realized that the address is for the rear building, behind 14600. I checked in and it was easy. Its efficient and theres a friendly guard type there who answers questions and walks you through the check in process if you need it. I got there early and noticed that as others came in and checked in the names came up in order of who would be called in. Again very efficient. After i was called in they confirm your info and the labs prescription. In my case they only had one of the two. They then ask for payment of what your insurance doesn't cover and proceeds to take the sample. read more

Worst location to seek service from. I came yesterday a Monday at 4:30 pm only to see the door close with a sign saying they are closed although the yelp page reflects they are open until 5 pm. I came back today Tuesday 02/11/2025 at 3:50 pm only to be told very rudely by worker named Steven that they do not take walk ins past 3 pm. I asked him if that is a policy and where it is located for visibility to their customers and he stated they do not have any posted policy. I have now come and wasted my time twice due to their negligence and incorrect information. Steven was in no way helpful and very rude to myself and another individual who had also seek services prior to me. Clearly Quest seeks to hire Disrespectful medical workers, such a shame. read more

My first time visiting this location. There was a nearby parking structure with free and easy parking, and I found the office easily on the first floor of the building. I highly recommend making an appointment. I easily made my appointment online just two days prior. There were only two other people in the large waiting room when I arrived for my 2'oclock appointment on a Friday. I helped myself to one of the check-in screens, which was very easy to use. I scanned the QR code I received in my appointment confirmation email, and proceeded to scan my drivers license and insurance card as prompted. Once I was checked in, I saw my name pop up on the waiting room screen. Less than 5 minutes later, someone called my name. I was helped by a lovely woman named Umlesh. I told her that everyone who has tried to take my blood has had issues and have told me I'm a "special case" or a "hard stick" as they call it. Umlesh took great care of me and was kind and careful when finding a good spot for the needle. She was able to get the needle in on the first try without digging around (which usually happens to me) or needing to try a different spot. I was so shocked how easy it was and how quickly my blood was coming out. Usually I have so much more trouble. It's now several hours later and I haven't developed any kind of bruising or anything either. One of my least painful blood-giving experiences ever. Thank you, Umlesh! :) Also, here's some tips I've learned for anyone else who has trouble giving blood -- Drink water beforehand and make sure you're hydrated. Keep your body warm (it can get cold in the offices). And try to keep your body calm and relaxed or it can make things more difficult - try some slow, deep breaths. read more

Well my appointment was 30+ minutes ago, and there are still several people who were here before me. I have other appointments today. The o ly thing in the lobby are 2 little ipad check in points. I would not come back here. The ladies I worked with were great but they need to figure out their scheduling at this location. My husband and 2 daughters also had appointments. As someone who works in health care I understand how hectic and stressful the high volume setting can be which is why I really appreciate the care and efficiency that SHAYNA had during my visit She took the time to understand my situation and was able to handle my STAT order quickly even though I did not have an appointment and the lobby was fun of patients. Came back here with an appointment but just needed to pick up my 24 hour urine bucket. Knocked on the door, as it was locked. Took a few minutes but this lady opened the door and was very rude. She asked if I knew that I could check in on my phone. I said no. She let me in and told me to check in. Another worker said to just come in and he took my paper work. In the beginning I was resistant to the self check-in, but have come to appreciate the simplicity when the machines work correctly. However, I still prefer to speak with humans and I often think, for seniors the whole auto check-in is extremely complicated. In my case my senior I took is legally blind and would in no way be able to sign in. And without a human at the desk, she'd be lost. Eventually staff will come around, but ugh.... Parking at this particular office is not handicap friendly. There's a lot of walking involved even if you get lucky enough to get one of the few handicap spots on the first floor. With that aside, our wait time was under 20 minutes. Our lab tech was friendly and knew what she was doing and we were in and out within a half hour. Not my first choice of Quest facilities, but if in the area, it's not the worst. read more

If i could give 0 stars i Would. I had initially gone to Tarzana office 2 weeks ago to get my blood drawn however they weren't able to complete all the blood work my doctor had requested because I had to be there before 9am so i decided to schedule it closer to home. This location was the only one that had morning appointments available. I came in checked in, they called me within 10mins perfect everything was going smoothly. As soon as I sit down the lady tells me you have an outstanding balance, I was confused as i have never gotten charged by them or i hadn't received a bill, she said i cant proceed unless you pay , I mentioned to her i havent received the bill yet i barely came 2 weeks ago, and it clearly tells you there balance due today $0. I have never gotten charged before and i go yearly to other locations . She said well do you have your insurance card, I said I have it on my phone i can show you and its uploaded on there to given that i had gone to another location 2 weeks prior. She said no you have to have it printer out I cant proceed. So i asked her to call her supervisor. Along came CINDY her supervisor which btw when i asked the nurse for Cindy's last name she said "i dont remember her last name", she came in with an attitude not willing to hear anything, i mentioned to her, i have never paid, they have my insurance info , i have it on my phone if they want to see it, i just got work done 2 weeks prior and if the insurance is going to bill me they have uet to since i havent received it since it hasn't even been enough time for them to send the bill , she said " what cubicle number was it that didnt bill you cause their not doing their job and i said it wasnt at that location, she said well maybe you should go back to Tarzana not here if they don't charge you, I'm like trust me if i knew I would. I had already taken time off from work so at this point im like heres my debit card for this transaction she went ahead and charged me $136. She leaves then the nurse is like , oh we have to charge you now $167 for this blood work, excuse me?. How are you going to charge me if first of all you haven't gotten the bill and she said its already charging you, you might want to contact you insurance, i asked her to call her supervisor Cindy comes again (no help ) says yes its charging again i said thats weird you don't have my insurance and you know how much their are going to charge she said we do have your insurance info and they are already telling us how much, i found it so odd they were billing me already not knowing how much my insurance was going to pay. Cindy said, my supervisor has rules at this location and we can proceed unless you pay, i mentioned to her isn't Quest overall the same she said i don't know but if you go to north hollywood they are the same as us and i said i actually have gone there and they don't have this policy in place. I said ok let me call my insurance , shes like well your going to have to make another apt because we are being timed and we have 10mins to get you in and out, i was like excuse me?. This is not a food drive thru , you are dealing with needles and people's health have some empathy . She said i cant overwrite anything or my supervisor will write me up. She charged my card again which btw i did not sign anything authorizing that transaction nor did they check my ID or anything when i came in so unethical. I ask her for her boss name she wrote it on a paper and a phone number. I asked her for district managers number or corporate number she said we don't have that sorry , i told her not a problem I will research it. I called my insurance right after and they mentioned how they shouldn't have charged me since the billing cycle hadn't ended and they still didn't know how much my insurance was going to charge if they even charged anything yet along charge twice without even sending the claim. I have found their corp number and no one has responded however I will keep trying and research the DM # until i get a hold of someone, i am also submitting a claim to Better Business Bureau, they are doing unethical charges and yet alone not verifying Ids of even obtaining authorization from us to charge. They are so rude at this location and it seems like they have goals to meet and thats all they care about. I honestly Dont know how they made that Cindy girl a supervisor she has no empathy for clients she only cares about charging credit cards and getting u in and out in 10mins! Please avoid this location unless you want your debit card to get fraudulent charged!. P.S Im not sure if it was the security guard that was helping clients check in (was wearing navy blue outfit) but such a nice guy and hope he is getting paid for being a lobby attendant as he was the one helping everyone and no other Quest employee was around. read more

Horrible. When I made my appointment I uploaded my doctor's order for the blood panel. At no time didni receive additional instructions to print a copy as well. When I arrived, the "nurse" said she does not have access to it unless I email it. I emailed it, and she said it was not coming through...to go outside. I asked her to "refresh," check her junk email or search my name in the search bar. She replied, we don't do that here, sweetie. I said can you check the email i am using...and she pointed to a piece of paper. She then says, "Why don't you go outside and see if the email comes through. It's probably your internet." I explained it shows delivered. I triple checked the address. I have Verizon. And have full internet bars. She made me go outside the building anyway, and DID not come back and check on me. My appt was 1030am, and it's now 11 am. I have no clue when she will come check on me. There is no person out here, just a door with a lock and code. When another nurse poked her head out - by this time it was 1130am, I asked her to check my status. She then checked the email address I was using, and the letters were transposed. OK, MY ERROR!! Damn. But the first nurse (had she been a bit service oriented l) could have helped me figure that out since my brain was already flustered and not able to see the error. Nevertheless, I had to ask another nurse again at about 12:00 pm. (when she came out to call another patient) to check my status. She replied, "If it's 10 min after your appointment and we don't have your paperwork, we do not have to honor your appointment." I asked her to please just check to see if they now got my email. She said no. So I just left. Omg. I am a business manager, and I am not rude or disrespectful. Maybe my frustration with the situation showed, but wow. Just wow. Go to another location people!!! Btw - to make sure I am being fair, all the other nurses that came out to great their patients seemed very friendly and even smiled. Just not the one who was assigned to "help" me. read more
