Saw reviews of people saying coming in as a walk in isn't ideal or long wait times. I think it just depends when you go. I just went today on a Thursday around 11:50 am - 12:00 pm. Website states that walk ins are accepted at the Vanowen location. I checked in once I arrived. The woman at the front desk did not bother to say anything until 30 minutes later where she told me that they're only accepting patients with appointments. I mentioned that the site clearly stated walk ins are accepted. She very rudely said appointments only and shut the door. She was Very unprofessional! The waits here are insane. They're clearly understaffed. They only take appointments after 10, but will allow you to sign up as a walk-in. Staff said the wait time was 1.5 hours, followed by 2 full hours, followed by 20-30 minutes. They realistically see walking after 2 full hours of waiting with no clear communication on timing. The problem is obvious. The person responsible for checking patients in is the lab tech. They only have 1 person taking labs at any given time. Better staffing is necessary. read more

Parking: This location has a parking garage, but you have to pay. Annoying. 3 stars Staff: Lady at the front desk was nice. And the old guy that drew my blood did a great job, I couldn't even feel the needle. 5 stars for him. Overall: I leave Saturday for my birthday trip, so I had to quickly book an appointment, I easily was able to use the website to book an appointment, then I checked in on my phone when I arrived. When I got to the waiting room, only needed to wait another minute or two until they took me back. Very smooth experience. Only con was the parking situation. I waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to even check people in. Then she just tells me to check in on the kiosk even though I don't have an appointment. OK. So I do that and another employee tells everyone in the lobby that they will be servicing people with appointments first. Got it, understandable. Then after an hour the same gentlemen tells everyone that they will not be servicing anyone without an appointment today. Total waste of almost an hour and a half of my day. I've gone to plenty of Lab Corps locations and this is by far the worst one. Oh and parking isn't free either so that a bonus that I had to pay that too. read more

The staff here have been very rude. I called several times to schedule an appointment, and the interactions were unprofessional. I am also a healthcare worker, and this is not an appropriate way to speak to a patient. The worst experience at this Labcorp office (15211 Vanowen St#319 Van Nuys, Ca). The only reason I went there because of available appointment. The office was not organized/well-kept or clean. Phlebotomist Carlos (the older man with white hair) was the one who did my paperwork and blood draw. He seemed like he did not know what my cardiologist ordered. Carlos had gloves on when he called me in. Did the paperwork, didn't asked me to check the spelling of my information on the lab tubes. I asked him can you please change your gloves. I asked if I could have female urine hat. He looked at me like I was asking for a something out of order. Bathroom was not clean, no seat cover. After 2 days I checked the results of my lab work, and it was incomplete. Carlos did not draw enough blood and did not send the lab order with specimen. Staff is so nice and efficient! The wait time can be long, with the process. However, once you're called, the techs are quick. Just have your ID, insurance card, and documents ready upon arrival. Check-in at the kiosk at arrival with your ID. Then sit down, wait to be called by the reception, and have your insurance card and documents ready once called. This location is not handicapped friendly and the people that work definitely have a DO NOT CARE attitude. Place opens at 7am and not one was at the counter. Someone finally shows up and told the patient to sign into the kiosk but the patient that was there is blind. After another 10 mins someone with an attitude sign in the blind patient. Labcorp is efficient and friendly. While waits can vary without and appointment (walk-ins available on weekends only) you definitely save a lot of time with one and can even elect to move your time up once you check-in. This location is currently understaffed for various reasons, but everyone of duty does their absolutely best to accommodate and make sure you are seen, heard and taken care of. The restroom facilities are very clean though there wasn't waste basket available inside, but one close by and the dispensers are on the counter and easy to pump/use. I was only here for maybe 30 minutes or so, but had a great medical professional from start to finish. All staff on sight is bilingual possibly multi and friendly. read more

I was apprehensive to go as the reviews aren't great but to my surprise I had a very good experience. I forgot my lab slip and the ladies up front were helpful and patient. Thanks you! I didn't get there names but I was there on a Wednesday. The female phlebotomist was amazing. I'm sorry i didn't get her name as well. I am a hard person to draw blood from so I'm used to being poked several times. I could tell she was working to find my vein but she did. She also automatically got a butterfly needle without me even asking. Great skills. PS I am a registered nurse but didn't tell anyone. Today was my first day back at this office in several years, and let me tell you, it was like coming home. Although they incorporated utilizing tech for scheduling appointments online, they also provided a phone number to speak to someone in real time. Fortunately, I did not need to do so, but it was so nice to walk into a spacious medical office with ample seating, and two staff behind a counter who were visible and accessible. Once they found my appointment, and took my lab order and insurance information, I was let into a room, and done in less than ten minutes. Staff was knowledgeable, helpful and kind, so much so, I left knowing I would be back. There was a sign on the door when I entered that addressed responding to people's complaints about not being able to talk to someone on the phone for assistance, with a phone number for making appointments or getting help. I used to go here, and never had any problems with the phlebotomists who drew my blood. Then one day, I got an older man. I showed him the where best area to draw the blood was. He basically refused to and proceeded to unsuccessfully poke me and prod me about five or six times. On the last attempt, he finally drew blood, but it was very slow and he said it because I was dehydrated. I felt that because I was a woman, he did not listen to my opinion. If I could put a lower rating I would do it, they are not clear with the schedules of procedures and they never answer the phone, regardless of the times of their patients or people to a test, it is not only about the employees but their way of carrying out the process that hinders the day of those who require their services. Not to open very wide conversation, staff is very rude,and when I asked to provide their names for my complaint report three workers two administrative females and one man refused. Tall woman administrator yelled at me to "leave the office" because I'm being "disrupted" not to wear a mask. I didn't wear one because I didn't have one and because there was no mention at appointment email that I have to bring together with my, ID, insurance and referral from doctor, a mask of my own. After I asked please provide me one, because I don't have I would have to go to the CVS store and pay parking again,I was told they don't carry masks for the patients and told me to go and ask for one at Presbyterian Valley Hospital near the office. Tall female worker printed my information and said "I have all your information here, and you are being banned from using #labcorp for good". In about 15 minutes I managed to get a mask from another patient and came to the receptionist again and she told "It's too late. We are refusing to give you our service" in a high tone (like yelling) she repeated again and again "leave the office" I security to take you away. In two hours I waited there nobody came. I called police myself, officer said that unfortunately it is not emergency situation he cannot send nobody there. AVOID!!! I came in for blood work that should have been covered under Insurance and was told I would need to pay $250 up front ... then as I was headed out was now told that they would just need to put that as a hold on my credit card and not to worry... ok fine. I was not only charged the $250 but was send another bill for another $150. Called my insurance and they said that this was due to an error the lab made in billing and they can't help me, when I tried contacting labcorp for help, no one was available. This is the dirtiest lab I've ever been to. The soap dispenser in bathroom was non existent while the soap refills sat near the sink in containers. I'm certain most folks going in and out are not washing hands. Every area where you could get hand sanitizer near doors and counters were also empty. Also an hour wait with an appointment. This is by far the worst treatment I have ever received. I made an account to visit this site. While the instructions said no appointment required, but suggested to call. Upon attempting to call several times I was unable to speak to someone. I drove to this location and the front worker was extremely rude to me. Told me that the urine test is held from 10:30-1:30. She did not mention that I need to book an appointment. I left the office since it was 2:00pm and past the cut off. I drove there today. A different worker assisted me and "supervisors" who had assisted me earlier in the week felt the need to chime in. Extremely rude once again, telling me that she informed me last time that I need an appointment which she did not. Then she told me she could refuse service to me because I have an "attitude" and that she's the supervisor there and she will go out of her way to call my school to inform them that this location who'll not be performing my test. For her to threaten me by possibly declining my visit was uncalled for and not professional. I was very upset at the treatment that I received today. And for any worker to feel entitled because they carry the title of "supervisor" and to treat people this way is unacceptable. Today I felt discriminated against because I was at the office earlier in the week and she was rude to me and felt the need to be rude today for no reason. The "supervisor" was holding a grudge against me for no reason. All of this could have been avoided if she treated me with respect and simply explained that I need an appointment for the test and the window is from 10:30-1:30. Went to do a drug test for employment. The staff was nice, I was in and out with in minutes. Parking was a bit confusing. They don't watch you while you pee, they makw.you put everything in a box and you can't flush or was your hands til you give the lap person the specimen. I heard some people go into the bathroom and watch you at other places, and I'm not okay with that so I'm really relieved they sent me here. read more

just came here to say that stephanie was such a nice person! she was able to draw my blood the FIRST try! she was talkative and informative about how long my test results would take etc. i went on 07/12/23 around 11:30 without an appointment (you should call to ask if you could come in with or without an appointment just to make sure!! I DID) and was literally in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. the parking structure is filled with COMPACT parking spots which was the only downside and i paid $3 which isn't a lot but it sucked because i was there for so little time lol otherwise i do recommend this location! read more

Make an appointment and you will be in and out. Workers are very nice. I was hesitant to go to the facility base on the reviews. However, we are still under covid regulations and most people don't want to wear a mask and speaking for myself, im glad they enforce mask and appointments. I don't want to sit and wait with a bunch of people who refuse to wear mask when it still mandated for medical facilities. I don't know where they have been or if they are sick. Almost didn't come here because of other reviews. Fast and professional no concerns. It's near a hospital. Parking structure parking. Seemed fine not amazing but whatever it's a parking structure and you have to pay a bit to park. Cleanliness met my expectations for a lab. It wasn't LA snazzy but again it seemed fine. What I would expect for blood work at a regular hospital. The staff asked me questions several times related to the tests and seemed super professional. Will definitely be back. read more
